Eurobricks Event 2016

Billund Denmark

The one stop place for all your event info!

1/ Where, when, what:

Get ready for our the 12th Eurobricks event, at the heart of the LEGO universe: Billund, Denmark.

The event will be Sunday 17th, Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th of April. Travel days are Saturday and Wednesday.

The program will be very interesting as always!

Important: On Monday most of activities during the day are facilitated by LEGO. For these we are restricted for logistical reasons to 40 persons. So for this part of the program only the 40 persons that sign-up first can participate.

2/ Accommodation

We stay in comfortable wooden chalets in the lovely LEGOLAND® Holiday Village near a lake at 5 min walk from LEGO. For those who want to share a chalet, we'll take the Wild West chalets which all have living room/kitchen, a bathroom (shower/toilet), and 2 bed rooms (one with 2 box mattresses and one with a cot and one bunk bed (two beds over/under each other)), so 5 beds per chalet.

The LEGOLAND® Holiday Village has 20 Wild West chalets reserved for Eurobricks till Friday 29th of January 2016. So in order to be sure to have a chalet we need to finish all bookings before this time.

Prices:

  • Wild Western chalet (DKK/night): 1439,- (16/04), 1229,- (17/04), 1229,- (18/04) 1229,- (19/04)
  • Camping card (one needed per chalet): 110 DKK
  • Breakfast: 90 DKK/day (optional, but I assume everyone will want breakfast) - Children (3 - 12 years incl.) 65 DKK/day
  • Bed Linen & Towels: 90 DKK/Per Person (optional, you can also bring this yourself)

I've added an example (see below) so you can see how to calculate your total cost for the stay if you share a chalet.

IMPORTANT: we have a deal with the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village to have 1x the buffet dinner in their restaurant and in return they give us unlimited access to a private conference room. We'll use this room for the evening activities (and possibly some activities during the day). The price for the buffet dinner is 198,00 DKK (~27 Euro) while Children 3-12y pay 99,00 DKK (~13 Euro). By signing up to the event you agree to join the group buffet dinner at the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village on the Monday evening of the event.

Booking and payment:

We'll do this again in a decentralized way. Per chalet one person needs to be the 'chalet responsible'. This person will collect the money from the other people in the chalet and will be responsible for the booking and payment of the chalet to the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village. Payment is to be done shortly after booking (the chalet responsible pays directly to the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village, not to us!).

For booking a chalet you have to send an email with all info to the Village (see example below) and they'll provide you a link for the payment.

Chalet responsible:

We'll work out who'll be the chalet responsibles in the sign-up topic. Please indicated in the sign-up topic if you'd be OK to be a chalet responsible or rather not. We prefer people who already came to past events to take the role of chalet responsible over people who we've never met before. Also in the sign-up topic you can work out with whom you'd like to share a chalet.

If you become chalet responsible you should get in touch with the other people in your chalet (by Personal Messenger) and give instructions on how they can send you the money. Once you have collected all the money you can send an email (see example below) to the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village to make the reservation. As soon as the LEGOLAND® Holiday Village receives your email they we will send a payment link directly to the email address provided. The payment link will expire 5 day after it has been send and all major credit cards can be used.

If you come with your wife or entire family and would like a complete chalet you will of course be your own chalet responsible.

Address and Contact:

E-mail: reservation@legoland.dk

3/ Sign-up for the event:

You can sign up for the event here.

4/ Some examples:

Example calculation of the total cost for your stay (assuming a full chalet of 5 persons):

I'll take myself as an example:

I'll stay the entire event, so 4 nights, in a chalet with 4 other people (so full chalet, 5 people in total), that makes [(1229 DKK x 3)+(1439 DKK x1)]/5 = 1025,2 DKK. I'll also take breakfast each day, making the total 1025,2 DKK + (90 x 4) = 1385,2. I'll take the bedlinen and towels, so 1385,2 DKK + 90 DKK = 1475,2 DKK. Now I only need to pay my share of the camping card (one needed per chalet), so 1475,2 DKK + (110 /5) = 1497,2 DKK

So my grand total is 1497.2 DKK, or after conversion (using xe.com) that makes 200,7 EUR per person (that's ~25 euro more than 2 years ago).

Example email for booking a chalet (only for 'chalet responsibles'):

Do i get this right ?

In order to participate, i will have to decide latest, somewhere around 27-28 of January in order to get a reservation ?

I dont know if im having the money yet, but it would truely be great to meet up with all you fellows.

So my plan for now is to make a budget and stretch it as far as possible.

Just need an expiration date.

The chalets are reserved for us till end January, so that's the deadline for guaranteed accommodation.

BUT: part of the program (the stuff at LEGO) is restricted to 40 persons as I wrote in the topic, so don't wait too long if you like to join this part.

Yeah, i noticed. And i offcourse hope to be able to decide before that date to get the whole of the experience.

Just needed to get it clarified what the last chance for me would be.

I soo want to come along.

Thanks for the quick respond.

Very tempting...

Regarding 40 person limit: if my family comes, but dont attend any of LEGO related activities, does that mean that just I count into this quota?

Indeed, if they don't participate in any of the activities onsite at LEGO they don't count for the 40 person limit.

Hope you can make it!

I was under the impression the event would be held in Germany this time around. Is there a reason it is not? Will it be there again in the future?

Not sure where you got that impression from. Its normally Billund every 2nd year and Gunzburg and Windsor every 4 years. As it was in Windsor this year, if this cycle continues it will be in Gunzburg again in 2017..

Sadly, it turned out that I will not able to come. But I hope see you all in Gunzburg next year!

So, let me get this straight: If I decide to drive from Billund on Wednesday morning, I won't be missing anything (except the good company I've had since Sunday evening)?

Just want to make sure :D

Nope, that is the day all of us get going! People drive away or go get their flights home. There are only a few stragglers awaiting departure times.

I am pleased to discover that flying on a Wednesday means I get a flight in the late morning instead of at 6pm! Lalandia is nice, but not for hours and hours!
