Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Conclusion

Recommended Posts

Nico's dreams took him to the Fairy Tale Castle, imposing and somber in the darkness of the night...

fm-end1.jpg

He saw the All-Fruit Tree, completely withered by the grim force that had taken over the castle...

fm-end2.jpg

He saw the image of Little Mermaid in the Looking-Glass, sleeping innocently in her precious bath tub...

fm-end3.jpg

He saw the lifeless corpse of Red Riding Hood hanging from a noose...

fm-end4.jpg

He saw the remaining good guys of the castle being rounded up by Aladdin, Rapunzel and Prince Charming...

fm-end5.jpg

...And lead to the ballroom where Sleeping Beauty was already waiting. One by one the innocent ones were pushed into the Looking-Glass, unable to resist their fate.

fm-end6.jpg

Nico saw the villains rejoice their victory over the castle. Tears swelled up his eyes as he watched evil reign over good. Then something pulled him away from his nightmare...

fm-end7.jpg

"NOOOOOO!!!"

fm-end8.jpg

A ghastly scream, chilling his spine. It came from the kitchen.

fm-end9.jpg

Nico's mother was throwing cutlery at his father, crying her eyes out. His father was angry and they both were shouting. Something about Gio...

Later on, Nico's mother was taken away by people in white. His father said she needed to rest. They would go visit her sometime, his father promised.

fm-end10.jpg

And Gio, they would visit him too. And bring a candle.

Congratulations, everyone! You have successfully passed your Mafia School education, and are now eligible for advanced games. I hope you had fun with the game, even though the story was kind of a downer. Please leave any feedback and comments you might have to this topic. I will post individual evaluation of each of your perfomance in this game a bit later.

PROFILES & EVALUATIONS:

fm-whiterabbit.jpg

Once upon a time you served the Queen of Hearts and unintentionally led a curious girl named Alice into the Wonderland. You have a distinct habit of always being late, which finally caused you your job and almost your head as well. You narrowly escaped execution into the remote Fairy Tale Castle.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

Alex the Great: Somehow you were under scrutiny almost throughout the game, even though you actively participated in it. I guess you weren't that much of a contributor, then. That's probably why you survived until the conclusion.

fm-sleepingbeauty.jpg

Once upon a time your evil fairy godmother cursed you to sleep for a hundred years in a castle covered by rose briars, until Prince Charming came and woke you up with true love’s first kiss. That romance did not last long. Your thorny personality and lingering narcolepsy has prevented you to find a new husband, so now you live at the Fairy Tale Castle with the other lovelorn princesses.

The Bad Guys (Vanilla): There are four bad guys, who all know each other’s identities. Two of you have fixed night actions (a Role Cop and a Blocker), and each night one of you can also kill one of the good guys based on a mutual choice. You have no individual night action, so unless you are chosen as the killer for the night, all you can do is wait for the morning.

Chromeknight: You were definitely the driving force for the bad guys from the very start, and you kept the threads in your hands even when RPGer started going rogue on you. You flew under the radar and weaseled your way into the good guys' alliance and manipulated them from the inside. Your smart moves impressed me, and you seemed to know the game mechanics by heart like a veteran already.

fm-pussinboots.jpg

Once upon a time you were clever enough to make your owner a king and slay an evil giant, despite the fact that you are just a cat who wears boots. However, your smart mouth finally got you into trouble that you could not talk your way out of. Now you hide in the Fairy Tale Castle, trying not to piss on anyone else’s ankles.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

Dakar A: You were active and you seemed to have fun with the game. You played well until you went and broke the rules. But I trust you know them well enough now.

fm-goldilocks.jpg

Once upon a time you stumbled upon a cottage owned by three bears, and being ever the nosy one, made a mess of their home. Of course the family of bears got upset when they found you sleeping in their beds. You grew up into a young woman with a fear of bears, but the inclination to sleep in strangers’ beds stuck as well. There’s not a male resident inside the Fairy Tale Castle whose bed you have not shared – save Mr. Bear’s.

The Good Guys (Blocker): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You can prevent one person each night from using their night action, if they have one.

Darth Nihilus: You were a victim of the circumstances, I think. You started out well, but you failed to defend yourself when it would've mattered the most, and you ended up getting lynched.

fm-wickedwitch.jpg

Once upon a time you hexed many icky little children and bratty princesses, thinking you were doing the world a huge service. It finally dawned to you that people did not appreciate your endeavors, so you sought solitude from the Fairy Tale Castle, enchanting it so that nobody could find it. But you were never very good at spellcasting, so many others found their way into the castle as well. So much for that solitude!

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

Donut: You played a good, analytic game, but your lack of trust eventually made you play for the wrong team. Just because someone doesn't take you into their inner circle, doesn't automatically mean they're scum.

fm-cinderella.jpg

Once upon a time you lived with your tyrant of a stepmother, got a make-over from your fairy godmother and fell in love with Prince Charming. It wasn’t long before the prince found another maiden in distress and dumped you. Left with only your ball gown and glass slippers, you moved to Fairy Tale Castle in hopes of finding another fairy to turn your life around again.

The Good Guys (Doctor): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You can protect one person each night from getting killed. You cannot protect yourself.

Flipz: You were very enthuastic to get to play this game, and it seems that cost you in the end. You were so eager to make all kinds of theories that you failed to remember that this was a simplistic game with the other players being beginners as well. Sometimes things just are what they look like. However, you showed a profound understanding of the core gameplay of Mafia, and I can't wait to see you in action in a more advanced game where the possibilities are nearly limitless. Thank you for your commitment!

fm-princecharming.jpg

Once upon a time you were the daydream of every princess and milkmaid in all corners of the world, and you went around stealing their hearts only to break them for another woman. But what goes around comes around, and now you are in huge debts due to unpaid alimonies to your countless bastards, and your father the king has denounced you. You had no choice but to move to the Fairy Tale Castle – the only place other than your home castle that matches your high standards.

JackJonespaw: You played well, and you managed to stay off of the good guys' radar for a long time. Your posts in the day-topics were very "townie".

fm-littlemermaid.jpg

Once upon a time you were the innocent daughter of the Sea King, who wondered what it would be like to be a human with two feet. Well, you got to try it out and it wasn’t as good as it sounded. So you got your mermaid’s tail back from the Sea Hag, losing an eye and a hand in the struggle. You became a notorious pirate, but after all your ships sank you decided to retire to the Fairy Tale Castle.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

JaseTJ: You were an active player, and you seemed eager to learn, even though it took you a while to wrap your head around the rules. Unfortunately you broke the rules when it mattered the most, and the bad guys took advantage of your penalty votes.

fm-redridinghood.jpg

Once upon a time you walked through a forest to visit your grandma, and encountered the Big Bad Wolf. The wolf tricked you into thinking he was your old nan, and promptly ate you. You have learned from your mistake, though, and you promised never to let anyone trick you again. That’s why you find it hard to trust anyone, and your paranoia has led you to live at the Fairy Tale Castle – the only place that accepts just about anyone as a resident.

The Good Guys (Cop): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You can investigate one person each night to learn if they’re good or bad.

Kadabra: You took over the role of the good cop in a very tough situation. The scum already knew of your role and your results, and they were able to use their knowledge against you, but you still played valiantly and posed a real threat to the bad guys. Well done, and thanks again for stepping in!

fm-snowwhite.jpg

Once upon a time your envious stepmother banished you from your castle to die in the woods, but you were taken in by seven stumpy dwarves. The stepmother found you again and fed you a poisoned apple to get rid of you. It would’ve worked, too, if it weren’t for Prince Charming and his life-restoring kiss. That was the only good thing the man gave you, for soon you found yourself living with the dwarves again. Tired of cleaning up after them, you stole their precious gems and fled to the Fairy Tale Castle, hoping they would never find you there.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

LEGOman273: I'd say you were the brains behind the good guys after Flipz was killed off, and you played a solid game. However, Chromeknight managed to dupe you as well, and somehow you gained the mistrust of half of the townies too.

fm-aladdin.jpg

One upon a time you found your fortune by rubbing an old oil lamp. You learned the hard way that genies are tricky creatures, since the captured spirit took off with everything it gave you – including your princess bride. Now you are back to square one, loafing around the Fairy Tale Castle with a useless oil lamp as your only possession.

The Bad Guys (Role Cop): There are four bad guys, who all know each other’s identities. Two of you have fixed night actions (a Role Cop and a Blocker), and each night one of you can also kill one of the good guys based on a mutual choice. You can investigate one good guy each night to learn their night action.

palathadric: You managed to avoid an almost certain eviction against all odds, and you played well for a first-timer - except for the one time you forgot to send in your night action.

fm-jack.jpg

Once upon a time you were a simple farmer’s boy who got himself into numerous unbelievable adventures. Later on you tried to revisit those thrilling sensations with the help of booze. You ended up selling your herd, your fields and your farm, and now you live in the Fairy Tale Castle as the resident bum.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

Piratedave84: You weren't very active, but when you posted it was pure business. However, the scum managed to fool you in the end as well.

fm-pinocchio.jpg

Once upon a time you were carved from wood by a puppeteer and brought to life by a fairy, but you had to learn how to be a real boy before you could become one for good. Well, you did not learn your lesson by heart, and your rambunctious ways got you turned back to wood as a punishment. But you’re all grown-up now, trying to find your place in the world. Maybe you will find from the Fairy Tale Castle?

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

Poison Ivy: Your game was shortlived, and you had the misfortune to get victimized because of your character. But that showed the other players the important lesson that appearances have nothing to do with allegiances in Mafia.

fm-rapunzel.jpg

Once upon a time you were locked up into a high tower by a witch, but you managed to escape thanks to Prince Charming and your endlessly long hair. However, your secluded life in the tower has left you lacking in social skills, and soon you and your hair proved to be too much the prince. One morning he was gone, having climbed down the bedroom window using your braid. After bawling your eyes out, you decided to find new happiness from the Fairy Tale Castle.

The Bad Guys (Blocker): There are four bad guys, who all know each other’s identities. Two of you have fixed night actions (a Role Cop and a Blocker), and each night one of you can also kill one of the good guys based on a mutual choice. You can prevent one person each night from using their night action, if they have one.

RPGer: At first you didn't seem to grasp the fact that playing scum is a team effort, and that even though the bad guys were supposed to lie and mislead, they weren't supposed to do that to each other. Your posts in the Day-topics were quite transparently scummy, too. I'd almost say the scum win despite of you, rather than because of your help. But you shaped up at the very end, and I believe you learned enough to move onto the advanced games.

fm-mrbear.jpg

Once upon a time you were the strongest animal in the forest, and you had a lovely cottage with your wife and son. Now they both decorate someone’s floor as rugs, and your anger management issues caused you to be banished from the forest. You found a new home from the Fairy Tale Castle, but you still find it hard to control your temper with your annoying neighbors.

The Good Guys (Vigilante): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You can take justice into your own hands, killing one person each night. Please use this message chain to send in your night actions when the time comes.

Superficial Username: You played a good, analytical game for as long as it lasted for you. You smartly avoided playing the character the way I portrayed him to you, and you were trusted enough to get you killed first.

fm-bigbadwolf.jpg

Once upon a time you spent your time chasing pigs, goats and little girls in the forest, but you got fed up to constantly having your food taken out of your stomach - literally. So you moved to the Fairy Tale Castle and donned a sturdy armor to prevent your gut from ever being surgically opened again.

The Good Guys (Vanilla): There are twelve good guys, four of which have night actions. You do not know anyone else’s alignment besides your own. You have no night action, so all you can do is wait for the morning.

The_Customizer: You played well enough, but somehow you roused the suspicions of the good guys and your game ended abruptly before it really started.

Other than the fact that we lost (:damn:), it was fun. Well done, Sandy.

IIRC, Charming took the kill night four. Not that it makes a huge difference.

Thanks everyone. It was an interesting game, with some hairy twists for us, which I'll comment on later.

For now, to Snow, who saw through the mask at the end, well done!

And to many others, especially Lord of the Fries, whom I ruthlessly used, causing Flipz to think some very bad thoughts about, I'm sorry!

Big thanks to Sandy for a very fun and beautifully presented game, my only quibble is needing to wake up at 3am to vote on day four, but that's the way things go, and noone's fault.

I'll write a detailed breakdown of the game from my(our) point of view in a while.

Thanks again everyone!

Well done to the scum team, you really had the town in the dark for most of the time and I look forward to playing with some of you as well as your town counterparts in an advanced game. I think this is a valuable lesson of why you don't play the game in the discussion thread

Well done to the players, especially the scum! This is the first time scum won, since Belville Mafia, if I am correct? This game was beautifully done, I loved the style of the pictures and scenes.

It seems Gio did die. If only Town had won, then maybe Nico's dad would die.

Well played Scum. I should take a lesson from your book.

If Kadabra had not revealed the cop role, Town might of won.

Gio would've died anyway, sorry. If the good guys had won, Nico would've grown up to be an attorney, fighting organized crime with a lawbook.

If Kadabra had not revealed the cop role, Town might of won.

It seems that it was Lord of the Fries that revealed the role to the scum first. Kadabra was put into a tough position when he took over the role.

Wow. LoTF did not post, but manages to tell a scum of his cop role. It seems Town had lost early on.

Not necessarily, I think it came more down to not being able to reach a conviction on one of the last days :sceptic: I forgot to mention how beautiful the scenes and characters were Sandy, you did an excellent job

Or they could have lynched you and then found out you were telling the truth and then lynched Aladdin, again it comes to the lack of knowledge either way after that day was finished.

What a wonderful game, Sandy! It was truly a pleasure to follow!

Congratulations to the Bad Guys! It's about time scum won a Mafia School! Even though it became apparent about halfway through where most players' loyalties lay, you guys still pushed through and strongarmed the town into submission. Kudos!

It's a shame the game had to be won due to a penalty at the end there, but the way you guys twisted everyone away from lynching a confirmed scum on Day 3 was awesome. It should be noted for the town that you guys weren't in MYLO (mislynch and lose) at that time, so you could have easily lynched palathadric to test Kadabra's legitimacy. You should always take advantage of your available mislynches - not lynching for the day only gives the scum a free kill (and whatever other actions they may have).

Anyways, I think you all played a great game (at least in the day threads), and I hope I'll get the chance to play with you all in an advanced game sometime!

OK, now that I can actually post publicly again:

SCUM HOW IN F***ING HELL DID YOU KNOW ABOUT BEAR AND ME NIGHT 1?!?!?!

*Pant* *pant* sorry, I've been holding that in ever since Goldy was found innocent and Bear mentioned on the Dead writeboard that he told no one. I've gone over my PMs a hundred times and still can't figure out where the leak was.

I have plenty of ranting to do at people, but I'll wait a while for that. GREAT game, Scum, once Sleeping got my trust Town was doomed.

I also plan to post the important bits of my PM chains (slightly cleaned for lauguage  ) just so people can see the insanity (and my fail strategy  )

The Town had a good chance, Flipz was one of the greatest Mafia Players who had never played before I have ever seen. DarthNihilus had been in a couple, and impressed me this game. Kadabra was put in a tough place due to his predecessors actions, yet still managed to make a difference.

Overall, this was the best Mafia School I have seen.

I'll talk about this more later, but for now, I'll just say, huge congrats to the Scum for dominating the Town.

I know part of it was due to the Town's inexperience, because they should've realized that if someone claims Cop, and there are no counter-claims, you lynch the Cop's claimed suspect, because you know that in this game, the true Cop's result is always right (no Framers, Godfathers, etc.) and if the suspect turns out Town, the Cop must be Scum. But, in any case, great job, Scum, on getting the Town to lynch a Townie on Day 3.
