Atlantis portal emperor/merman king

Recommended Posts

Hello, AFOLs of the World,

I'm after a portal emperor/merman king minifig with helmet, armour and trident from the Portal of Atlantis set 8078. But the prices for this minifig on BL are too high for me! :cry_sad:

Does anyone know if, like the squid warrior, it's available cheaply with a Ladybird book or inexpensively some other way? If so, where?

I'm in the UK.

Apologies if this should've been posted elsewhere.

Thanks,

Amps

I'm sorry, I don't know where to get one cheaply. As for the wrong forum thing, I'm not sure, maybe in the buy sell and trade forum.

Hello, Capt,

I thought of that but as the post about the squid warrior Ladybird book was in this forum, I figured this was the right place to appeal for anything similar.

Mea culpa if I'm wrong!

Maybe that was in the wrong forum too. Because the Buy,Sell, and Trades forum also has a "finds" at the end. So since they found it maybe it should go there? Or maybe I am entirely wrong. :oh3:

If you find a cheaper source, I'd like to know too. Personally, I'm hoping this set will be on clearance at some point or another.

Right here. It may not be cheap, but it's cheaper than getting one in the actual set for 100 dollars USD.

hes cheaper then that on BL as it goes though hes the only unique fig in a pricey set so doubt hes going to go cheap, all the other figs are rehashes from other sets and not much todo in the set other then him, so he will be pricey until he comes out in a smaller set.

I found some on bricklink which is what, 4 usd cheaper?! http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=93650

Go to the place (I'll post the url after this) where I bought my plush koopa troopa. It may not have the one you are looking for, but maybe they will update their site. http://www.toywiz.com/blebcomifiac.html

Sorry for the double post.

Sorry for the double post.

It is available in the US as a keychain. If you want you could buy one and remove the ring. Just an option, not everyone likes using those after they have been removed though.

thats another thought too, on the other hand though it looks like the ring would mess up the helmet where it is attached, and also a 5 keychain limit too.

I don't think it might mess up the helmet. I quote LEGO.com "Minifigure can also be detached for play in other environments" That was from the shop. It is an option.

I noticed that bit about "can can also be detached for play" the other day; I suspect it's a mistake, probably copied from the description for the magnet sets. I saw the Portal Emperor keychain in a Lego Store the other day, and it has the same hole drilled in the top and glue-together parts all the other keychains do. Interestingly, there is a tidy little "gap" in the crest on his helmet where they drilled the hole for the screw -- I wonder if that helmet is a variant of the original, specifically for the keychain version?

i removed one. unlike older keychains the head can be removed from the helmet. for eg, the fairy keychain's head is glued shut to the hairpiece.

i think the portal emperor should be available later on as a magnet set. if you wait, the BL prices should come down as well. magnet set will be better since it will come with the trident while the keychain version costs $5 but will have a hole in the head and no trident.
