Nexo Knight LDD MOC [ROOK]

Recommended Posts

Thanks! it does have a video game look to it. I just updated the front facade and top hatch. Might order pieces tomorrow. Oh wait, it is Minifig Scale you know.

I like this. The name is kind of ironic, seeing as this'd be perfect for a large Nexo Knights' chess set's tower pieces. I love the little touches, like the jets and the little hatch at the front.

Massive redesign to fix durability, still working on interrior

I personally like the first version better. This one may be more durable, but that one had more of a Castle feeling to it.

It looks pretty good, a lot better than that redesign, but I'm not sure if it measures up to the version at the top of the topic.

You managed to capture the "castle shape" again, but the way the light blue slopes away to make room for the dark blue takes away the simple bold lines of the original version.

Also, the folder for the LDD file doesn't seem to be public yet?

Should be approved soon,

The original has 4 sides that float, they are resting on weight bearing portions and hinged all the way through, But that means they might wiggle and still destabilize it,I really wish I could make those more stable. If it were a static structure I'd say it was fine.

But yeah you're right the original is a bold unmistakable look.

Thanks again, for having a look.

Anyone have a more stable formation for hinged sides like the original, I tried a bunch of ways myself but I didn't crack it.

The last one is super small but sturdy, BTW my inspiration is one of the spires from Fortrex. I try to match its style. The last one even has the yellow bits in the cracks, as seen on Fortrex stickers.

Your feed back has helped me to create:

I think it captures the best of both worlds, I've got some interior and top level work to do, but I really like this one.

Very nice. The flag gave it a lot of Nexo Knights feel, though. Was there a structural reason for removing it?

Thanks for reminding me, I'll flesh this out tonight!

Kind of Ironic really.

You keep rebuilding the ROOK.

Like three times already.

Sound similar?

That third version with the dark blue was spot on, looks a bit like one of the unused sketch models in the Nexo Knights area at work. Nice build!

Are you gonna change this up, with the release of the Nexo Knights sets?

I did, I made a much larger version, but I'm frustrated because sourcing bricks for the larger one was getting ridiculous. I wish there was a better way to source bricks on BL

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117500#entry2400307

I tried a couple of different colors but there are a lot of different types of bricks, making things difficult. Anyone have a better way?
