Wow! Great review! Now if you'd send me one, because I e-mailed TLG that I "dibs-ed" the first copy, and apparently SOMEBODY else got it.

Nice classic feel. Simple, of course, but that in no way means "bad." Also nice to see the shortsword in the dark metallic color, and the bucket is looking like a wonderful addition to the helmet possibilities.

Although they are quite stereotyped, I actually like that about the head choices. Why is the good guy so happy when being attacked by an angry guy in an insane amount of chains? Who cares, that gives it a toyish feel. Good guys are happy, bad guys are angry, and that's the way it should be, kids. Just because it doesn't have orcs and skellies doesn't mean it isn't fantasy.

Thanks 'CopMike' for this review - yep, I'll be buying a few of these that's for sure !

Cute little catapult and weapons stand (although a bit bigger and more clips to hold an extra weapon or three) !

The minifigs are actually the best part of the whole set, printed backs and I think they are new heads too !

Looks like Lego might be on a winner with this theme rebirth.

I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

"Now hold still while I properly aim this catapult..."

Though I do have my fair share of complaints about the new theme, I can't help but have a craving to collect all the sets. Knight's Showdown looks to have some fantastic minifigs, and a nice little variety of accessories.

Thanks a bunch for this review!

I love the classic look, but really, why did they need to be so obviously divided into Good versus Evil? I already knew they would be, but didn't realise how Bondage Evil the bad guys were going to be with all those chains and dark leather and stuff. Why can't they be Northern Nights versus Southern Nights, where neither side is any more good or bad than the other?

It's not like the Pirates line, where you could have either the Pirates or the Soldiers as the good guys.

Thanks for the review CopMike! This review just about confirms what I already knew; that Kingdoms is fantastic and I definitely plan on picking up at least one of every set from the line up. I was kind of bothered by the amount of chains on the Dragon Knight at first, but honestly it just looks badass, and I'm loving it now. Anyway...I'm very pleased with the Dragon Knights, and the Clown Lion Knights look suitably dorky. They'll make good incompetent bad-guys, I think.

Can't wait for these to start hitting the shelves! :classic:

Thanks for the review, our favorite LEGO Ambassador!

Looks like a great set! Two very cool minifigs, both of which have some neat head prints (Agent Charge and a new 2010 City head, I believe), detailed torso prints, and one with leg printing! Also, they both have some awesome back prints!

The catapult is neat, and the weapons stand does look cool. However, my only gripe is that the stand only holds one weapon when there's three in the set!

I'll only be buying this set, the two impulses, and possibly the advent calendar of the Kingdoms theme due to my budget, but if I had enough money, I would definitely purchase most of the Kingdoms line. :sweet:

Nice figures, but the rest of the set looks kind of poor. Thank you for the good review though, you've convinced me to give this theme a try.

The reason I like this set is the malleability. I mean, the only thing on the catapault differenciating its faction is its shield, so you can change it however you want!:knight:

Hey copmike, thanks for reviewing this set, I did like the fantasy castle better, but I guess I could give this a try, but I don't think I should justify this theme just for the figs...

But, but, but, but.... That sets not even out yet! :cry_sad:

Great Review! I can't wait to get this set! This castle theme is sure to be a hit, 'cause once again there are 2 human factions, with good looking torsos!

Thanks for the review. I'm more in the fantasy theme, still this line looks promising.

Nice to see the use of little lego parts. This looks also as a good army builder with nice additions for own MOC's.

The catapault is really nice! I like how it is nice and small,

with functional pieces. I dislike the previous catapaults we've

had that were made with too many pieces which 1.) adds to

the price and 2.) were just not functional and made the whole

think look blocky/heavy.

The Lion Knights looks awesome, although I don't like his grilled

helmet at all. I wish they could make it a movable visor, I mean

that's not so hard to do right? It's been years already and they

still keep it a one piece T.T !

Having said that, I love the great helm! Although the dragon

knights are butt ugly :cry_sad: . They just remind me of the

typical villains - mean face, dark dark dark DARK armor, so

dark all I see are chains which resembles trolls/orcs/skeletons.

What is he suppose to be? A robot knight from space? Why

carry around 4 heavy chains strapped to your space armor?!

I think Lego missed the opportunity to make two VERY good

loooking opposing factions. Instead, they opt to make one

very variable faction -Lion Knights- and one very homogenous

faction - Dragon Knights. Don't you guys recall the Dragon Knights

way back when in the 90s?

Although there's a great deal of criticism here, since there are lots

to be improved, I absolutely love the castle theme which means I

will be buying them no matter how much I critisize hahaha :cry_happy:

Thanks so much for the review !! Can't wait to see more

One question- WHY this set have no shield for Dragon guy?!

And I will say this again- New colors for weapons and bab "capitold" for the wiiiin!

And I don't agree with Legobear. The Dragon knights don't look like bad guys even with this colors and this adorable face. But Ok- we know they keep the Lion Princess in their castle.... So they are bad :P
