LDD 4.2 problem

Recommended Posts

Before when I had LDD 4.1 I had access to the whole range of bricks having entered ThemeAccess=LDDExtended in the relevant place, however since updating to 4.2 I lost all of those & it won't now let me enter ThemeAccess=LDDExtended in the relevant place (Well, it'll let me enter but won't allow me to save it once I've change it!)

I want the full range of bricks back!! Help?! :cry_sad:

In the new LDD 4.2.5 the Extended Mode is not hidden, but provided by default.

Perhaps you problem is due to e "dirty" preference file from older versions. Delete that file and run LDD so it can create the new preference file.

I'm honestly not sure how to fix that.

While NOT running LDD, if you are using Windows 7, you can find the Preferences.ini file here -- C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\preferences.ini . Once you find it, delete it and restart LDD.

With this newest release of the Macintosh Operating System, the "Library" folder in each individual "User" folder is hidden by default. You will first need to unhide it in order to access the directory structure "{hard drive name}/Users/{user name}/Library/Application Support/LEGO Company/LEGO Digital Designer/preferences.ini"

Open Terminal (via the 'Go' menu when in Finder and selecting 'Utilities', then double-clicking 'Terminal') and type the following (replace {user name} with your actual user name):

chflags nohidden /users/{user name}/library

This will unhide that directory, allowing you access to the folders therein.

escortmad says he can enter the file but not edit it, so I assume he can find it. In any case, LE Mode doesn't need to be unlocked in 4.2, so he shouldn't need to edit it.
