morris Posted May 11, 2007 hallo there. thanks for the update. 2 questions from me. 1) does amazon.de ship to UK? 2) does a sale in amazon.de means a sale coming to amazon.co.uk? thanks and cheers
Hobbes Posted May 11, 2007 1) does amazon.de ship to UK? I tried to buy something on .com once and entered my European address. IIRC they accepted the address but added (horrendous) shipping costs. Best bet is you just try an order and see what happens. You don't have to finish it, and maybe they tell you it isn't possible like S@H does. 2) does a sale in amazon.de means a sale coming to amazon.co.uk? Not necessarily, the localized sites work independantly...

Hobbes Posted May 12, 2007 paul is right, newer 9V track come in bley. I don't really care about that but there's people who don't want to mix... I just tried to order the airport and have it shipped to London. It's possible, just costs 6 Euro shipping.

WhiteHexagon Posted May 13, 2007 you might find restrictions buying from amazon.de. I found 4956 discounted several weeks back and then discovered they won't ship outside of Germany! Luckily I have friends in germany where I could order a couple of sets too :) For other stuff from amazon, the customs is normally calculated for you. Here in Switzerland there is only 6?% sales tax, so amazon.de discounts the German 19%Mwst and replaces it with the 6% swiss sales tax. Seems like there is also some border processing charges involved. Dunno if they would do the same because of different sales tax rates elsewhere. Do you pay VAT on Lego in the UK these days? morris Posted May 13, 2007 Do you pay VAT on Lego in the UK these days? VAT on Lego, VAT on food, VAT on clothes. we will soon have to pay VAT just to buy the right to live.
