Hello!

This is my first time sharing a creation on Eurobricks so be nice.

I have wanted to build a ship for a while but never had the time, in fact, I really couldn't be bothered, but when by prefab hull came in the post, I knew this was something I really wanted to pursue.

So here she be:

Not much just now but a start.

The bow needs some work and the back is a bit too shabby to show :pir-tongue:

Comments and Criticisms very welcome and I need some help/ideas to help me out!

Hope you like it,

Spud

PS. Could a mod/admin please move this to MOCs please - sorry  please forgive me!

Nice forst MOC. i would suggest you to make sidewalls a bit higher and add cannon windows/hatches.

What I am planning on doing is making a slanted gun deck (like this one and this one) to make it nice-looking and then some tall masts.

No problem. I think your off to a good start. You might want to look at the ships in the Pirates Master Index, its full of great inspiration. I always look at it when I'm building just to get some ideas. Good luck with your ship.

Thanks.

I have been looking on there recently but brickshelf is always down :pir-sceptic:

My suggestion is to lower both sterncastle and bowcastle before making sides. This will make a nice slim look. Since now it is promising by the way..

I said so just because of your inspirations (beatrix and "build a frigate" project). In this case the suggestion could be different: a bulky ship gives the opportunity to make interiors in the lower deck (and this is a thing I personally like a lot), but in this case you may consider to change the yellow line into reddish brown, then black drawing a slightly curved line and leaving only a stripe about 2 bricks high with yellow bricks representing the gunline.

Absolutely!!!! This is yhe reason I've suspended my main project... I'm working on oyther side projects based on lfx files (thanks to users who had the kindness to share those) because this way I could buy only the required bricks. Producing something new is great, but requires some buying I can't afford this times :(
