Anto Posted June 28, 2016 Hi everyone ! After my articulated tractor, I made a supercar. It has the classic functions of a supercar : Steering with return to the steering wheel Full independent suspension Fake engine with gearbox I added 3 other functions with a little bit of originality : front and rear cover can be opened by a lever in the interior. The doors have an uncommon kinematic. They look like the Lykan Hypersport doors. (http://images.hgmsit...100433693_l.jpg) For the design, I choosed a red and black color scheme. Black is for the covers and the roof. I tried to have good and fluid shapes, without holes. The fake engine is a V10. It is decorated by exhausts. I have used the gearbox of the Nathanaël Kuipers's Concept Car (http://mocplans.com/..._main_photo.jpg) The front suspension : The rear suspension : Steering : The gearbox and the fake engine : Front cover opened : Rear cover opened : The doors opening was difficult to make. The pivot axis is placed in diagonal. The scroll wheels are placed behind the roof. The video :

Lox Lego Posted June 28, 2016 so small and so many functions!
Buddy010702 Posted June 28, 2016 Looks very good! This is a bit off topic, but does anyone know where to buy those wheels, it think they are from the set 41999, but is there an easy way to buy the rims? (I LOVE the while around it)
offroadcreations Posted June 28, 2016 Nice job on the bodywork. The doors are awesome.
Anto Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) Thanks ! :) so small and so many functions! This car is not small. The scale is similar to the LMP1 #42039. (a little shorter) It is possible to add rims around wheels with paint. Some people have ever done that. Edited June 28, 2016 by Anto
Buddy010702 Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately since there's only 20000 of that set made that means those wheels won't be manufactured anymore, so bricklink is your best friend, or worst enemy once you see the pricetag. (Still Off Topic) I searched them and they were 13$ a piece, x 4 = 52$ plus tax, which is SUPER expensive... I wish I got the set when i could, the rims would be great for the porsche I'm trying to build... Edited June 28, 2016 by Buddy010702
SevenStuds Posted June 28, 2016 (edited) Nice and neat build Anto! The opening elements and very nicely done. (Still Off Topic) I searched them and they were 13$ a piece, x 4 = 52$ plus tax, which is SUPER expensive... I wish I got the set when i could, the rims would be great for the porsche I'm trying to build... Black wheels plus a white adhesive vinyl around the edge There are better ways to spend $52. Jeroen Ottens Posted June 29, 2016 Wow, That is a smooth looking car I really like the flow that you achieved with your panelling. It is so clean... And then fitted with all the functions... very ingenious... And those rims just make the wheels pop. Beautiful. I would like to see a few photos that aren't close ups though. To get a better feel for the entire shape. Are the top and bottom of the door rigidly connected, or do they rely on friction to keep them close together? Anto Posted June 30, 2016 Thanks ! I have done à modelization of the doors. They are fixed with connectors and a liftarm. I have just 3 or 4 other pictures in this topic (in french) : http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/topic9641.html
