MOC: 1930s Truck Version 2

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I haven't contributed a MOC here for awhile, so I thought I should finally show my 1930s Truck that I've redone. After seeing legohaulic's over at Flickr, I felt obligated to change mine as well. My previous version seemed too long with an unrealistic arrangement of colors, so that's what I planned to fix. As it turned out, I completely demolished the truck and started over from scratch and I'm happy with how it turned out. It's still a five wide vehicle (six with the wheel wells) and can seat two minifigures, but what I'm most happy with is how the front came out. It proved tough, but after some problem solving, it came together.

Pictures are links.

Hope you enjoy!

Quite nice, 'MdrnMrvls' !

Although, a white truck - I thought most of these work horse type vehicles were like what Henry Ford said, 'You can have any colour you like, as long as it's black'.

I would love someone to try this as a MOC (might do so myself).

The world's first ute - designed/manufactured at Ford's Geelong's plant in Australia after a request by a farmers wife for a truck her husband could use on the farm and the same vehicle could be alright to drive in to church on a Sunday.

Hello!

You captured the classic look of the vehicle very well. I like the fitting windscreen between the tiles, and also the mudguards are a very nice brick-built solution for this. :classic:

Cheers,

Nice!

I like old trucks, I built two very similar to yours, just in bigger scale.

Front end is really good!

Thank you! And you are right, Ford did say that! :classic: I just wanted to use the white and gray combo, I thought it would look nice compared to a plain black (picture it as refurbished antique.) However, now that you mention it, I think I have the pieces to pull one off in black.

Really nice! I specially like that classy and "round" front

Thanks a lot BlueBard, I like it too. :classic:

Thanks! The mudguards are probably my favorite part. The windshield is starting to grow on me because before I was using two 2x1x2s and those indeed looked a bit awkward.
