Hello everyone,

I am back again to share with you my next LEGO Nexo Knights review. When I reviewed the 70327 King's Mech earlier, I knew I need to find a decent companion or at least an opponet to fight against with in order for me to increase the playability for that set. I looked at the recent released sets and I felt the new 70325 Infernox captures the Queen is going to be my next immediate set that I buy. It can only be bought in Toys R US in Singapore as it was an exclusive set. I supposed this will be the same arrangement for other regions. Without further ado, let me bring you the new adventuring review of LEGO Nexo Knights.

Come and face me alone if you wish to save your beloved Queen

25687246262_b846c74537_o_d.jpg

The flamming Infernox is quite a monster menace. I find this name, Infernox quite familiar. With a simple search, I was quite surprised that it seemed somehow related to the actual small Power Miners lava monster back in 2010. I am quite confident that they are related. This Infernox must be summoned from the Book of Evil by Jestro the Jester. I always wanted to have a medium-sized monster for the evil armies to summon such inferno monster. Thus, I am very glad to see such a nice design surfacing in the Nexo Knights realm. In my collection, I can replace the 8962 Crystal King as my new updated version of summoned Inferno Monster.

The content of the sealed box

The sealed box come with two mint numbered packs, an instruction manual and a sticker sheet to beautify the hover horse and Inferonx. Thank goodness, it is just a few stickers. However, I decided not to apply and choose to retain the vanilla appearance after completing the built. Once the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts in packet 1 and packet 2. To my pleasant surprise, I am pleased to see TLG include a spare printed disc shooters.

Two unique Nexo Knights Power

As I have mentioned in my earlier review with regards to the fun virtual part of scanning those shields into the app. In this set, these are the two unique LEGO Nexo Knights power which is known as 'Lava Dragon' (unleash the most grumpy and dangerous of dragons) and 'Time Breach' (time flies when you are having fun). You can use my image and try to scan into your app. It will be quite an eye-opening experience.

Introducing Aaron Fox and Queen Halbert

25687252072_d6dbaa4e94_o_d.jpg

I am very pleased to introduce these two new minifigures. The Queen Halbert minifigure is exclusive to this set and a fitting companion to King Halbert. I am really glad that the Queen appeared in such a fairly reasonable priced set and the colour scheme is well suited for her regal appearance. Both minifigures have nice overall printed outfit and back printing too. I am very pleased to see their alternate facial appearance for both minifigures, in particular Aaron's wide grin which gave me a very special feeling. That smile is definitely one of a kind.

Aaron Fox is one of the five Nexo Knights and is well known for his excellence. From my understanding, Aaron is action driven character that specialised in his unique sleek blazer bow. He enjoyed hovering around with his Nexo Shield and that will get him quickly from point to point. Till this date, Aaron Fox has also appeared in 70313 Moltor's Lava Smasher and 70317 The Fortex. You can see this awesome detailed armour from his side view and back view.

Upon finishing packet 1, you can see the partial built of the Infernox. You are able to see some close-up views from here and here. There are other completed built like Aaron Fox's Hover Horse. Both minifigures are also included in the first packet.

The completed built for the Hover Horse

25687251282_e753cab15d_o_d.jpg

To match the capability for futuristic battle, the designer has successfully constructed a new steed for their faithful Nexo Knights. We don't see any traditional horses anymore and this highly articulated steed has transformed into a hovering horse for the knight to charge in a fast and furious manner. The Knight's accessories can be securely stowed away as it ride off to lightning speed through the rocket blasters. I was quite sceptical of this design until I built it. I noticed the designer has done good efforts to outline the horse in a high-technology fashion which could still be identified with ease.

The completed built of Infernox

25687248272_805753fb86_o_d.jpg

This is the completed built of the Infernox with his mouth wide opened. Measured at 12cm tall, this Infernox Monster is just 5cm shorter as compared with the King's Mech. The overall built is very well articulated with firm footing. It contained good shooting playability through their disc shooter from the wrecking hammer. Do note that the wrecking hammer is able to maintain its position from the Infernox's arm. It can be secured nicely through the usage of the technic pin that hold these parts together. The design enable the Infernox to pose at various confronting angles and I enjoyed playing with it.

I am much particularly fond of the hidden prison which will enable Infernox to keep the captured prisoner safely within its hot flaming body. By opening the chest, you are able to see a comfortable fitting spot for the prisoner to be kept away. You might want to note that this Infernox can be combined with this 70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile for cross integration. Please note there is a printing error at the box and it should be combined with 70317> Please note the difference in the set numbering.

A small play scene through these wonderful new LEGO Nexo Knights set

Never fear and never give up!

25687247152_a6d2d4f7ce_o_d.jpg

To conclude, this set is an above average set. I enjoyed this Infernox very much and it can be used outside of Nexo Knights realm which I have plans for it be as a summoned creature by Evil Wizards. The minifigures selection is nice, especially with the inclusion of Queen Halbert but it is a pity that there are just only two minifigures. I noticed that minifigures' count in the new LEGO Nexo Knights are quite limited in numbers. All in all, I enjoyed the built and played with the set literally.

Summary review

Playability: 8/10 (Good fun playability on the Infernox itself with the wrecking hammer and hidden prison.)

Design: 8.5/10 (Excellent monster design with a devilish touch.)

Price: 7.5/10 (Price is quite reasonable but it is best to get it with good discounts, if possible.)

Overall: 7.8/10 (I enjoyed this set very much and I think this is one of the best set ever, if you wish to sample LEGO Nexo Knights.)

I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about you?

I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed.

I like how infernox can imprison a minifig in its body. This set would have gotten a better rating from me if it had included a baddie minifig as well. Also, Lego should stop using slope for the minifig skirt, it makes all other legged minifigs look short.

Wait, what?

LEGO included golden armor for the king but not the queen?

That doesn't even make sense. In the show, it's actually the queen wearing the golden armor, not the king...

Awesome set! I can't help but notice that you put the curved slope for the horse's neck on backwards. The wider end is supposed to go towards the top. I think this does a lot to make the head design feel more continuous. You've also got the slopes for its chest on upside-down.

It's kind of a shame that Queen Halbert is depicted as a damsel in distress in this set, even though in the show she's quite a capable fighter. It's not that the possibility of her getting captured isn't realistic, but to have her appear unarmed and at the mercy of a monster in her only set appearance doesn't really do the character justice. It is good that both of her expressions are fearless, though. — the alternate expression is more indignant than panicked.

Infernox is a great giant monster design. His upper legs are a bit clunky-looking, but otherwise it's generally a very imposing build. It's kind of a shame he has to lose his tail to hitch up to the Evil Mobile, though.

Thanks for the review!

Good review!

But I don't remember there being a scene like this in The Lord of the Rings...

Huh - what did you say? Wait, that's not a wingless mini Balrog...?

They need to come up with new mini figures all the time, so next year we will probably get an ultimate queen when I'd guess the king dies at some point and a knife takes his place.

So then there'd he no ultimate king, since he has golden armor here?

But the thing is, I don't even recall him wearing that armor in the first place. Why didn't they just give the king his regular clothing anyway?

Question Guys, In nz we still dont have these two sets and the Library i can also see only limited countries have them for sale on Brick link.

Are these parts of a 2nd wave or only limited release.

This set works best as a counterpart to the King's Mech, but it still functions reasonably well on its own. I understand that the mouth had to be enlarged to "Eat" people, but I prefer Sparkks because he looks less goofy and more medieval fantasy.

All of the hover horses are great, I wish that they had a little more variety but the use of the motorcycle piece is so clever that I'm happy with potentially owning four of them.

I wish the queen had her golden armor here, because it would be redundant if she shows up again in another mid-sized set, such as the Black Knight's Mech.

A 4/5 set overall, I will be picking this one up soon.

So then there'd he no ultimate king, since he has golden armor here?

But the thing is, I don't even recall him wearing that armor in the first place. Why didn't they just give the king his regular clothing anyway?

I, for one, would like to know why his crown is gold instead of blue like it is in the show. Lots of inaccuracies in that figure.

It;s OK. Doesn't really knock my socks off, if you know what I mean. The lime green on Aaron's robo-horse really clashes with the regular green of the figure (a small mod, but it's a matter of principle!) I'll probably pick this one up anyway

Thanks guys! Appreciate your thoughtful and interesting views.

Perhaps, we could see the Series 15 Queen skirt torso being used for future Queen's design? It is quite possible since the King's crown piece has been used on King Halbert.

Awesome set! I can't help but notice that you put the curved slope for the horse's neck on backwards. The wider end is supposed to go towards the top. I think this does a lot to make the head design feel more continuous. You've also got the slopes for its chest on upside-down.

That is an embarrassing mistake. Thank you Aanchir for letting me know. I somehow got it messed up.

It is good that both of her are fearless, though. — the alternate is more indignant than panicked.

I haven't watched the opening episode of Nexo Knights, but judging from the general sentiments. It appears Queen Halbert is no damsel in distress. So, this could be just her peaceful outfit rather than her combat outfit. If that's the case, I hope there will be an updated design with her weapon by her side.

Infernox is a great giant monster design. His upper legs are a bit clunky-looking, but otherwise it's generally a very imposing build. It's kind of a shame he has to lose his tail to hitch up to the Evil Mobile, though.

That tail is a nice playing factor. I tend to adjust it low enough to swipe soldiers on the ground.

I wish the queen had her golden armor here, because it would be redundant if she shows up again in another mid-sized set, such as the Black Knight's Mech.

Speaking of which, the next set that I am really looking forward to find out the Black Knight's Mech design. I hope it can live up to my expectations as this whole Nexo Knights theme is starting to give me positive vibes.

I really like this set, always liking mechs a lot. (and other things like them) For some reason though, some parts of this set look awkward to me. The angles in the forehead, and the strangely shaped upper legs bother me a little bit, but I still really like the set. I also love the design of the hover horses, they have some really nice shaping to them.

Is it just me, or does Queen Halbert's torso design look like she was meant to have a different leg design than the dress she was given in this set? Perhaps she wasn't originally planned to have a slope dress, or perhaps she's planned to have normal legs at some point later on? The change from gold to blue between torso and dress just seems really out-of-place to me, IMO.

Such monster is really from hell - Infernox. To my mind, if any mini figure of any set has a slope piece, LEGO designers should include also regular legs so it could sit. Isaw that only in the Battle for Ninjago City. Do you know any others?

Great review - thank you for posting. There are some nice colors (and trans pieces) and the minifigures look really well done. I think if I was going to pick up a NK set, this could be the one.

I just build this thing. And I was wondering if the Queen's cape is the newer spongy material. This would be my first time handling the stuff.

In my copy of the set at least, it was the old starched material, though it might vary between production runs?

No, it's definitely not the new kind of spongy material (I got that material from Thor's red cape from 76030) for me. It's the traditional fabric material like other older capes.

A very thorough review. But I notice that the Brickset and Bricklink links at the beginning link to the Kings Mech, instead of this set.

As for the set itself, I look at it from the PoV of a disgruntled Castler - so pretty good for what it is, Inferno making a cool brick-built creature (coming from a guy who prefers molded creatures), but not something I would pick up.

Ugh I wish this was not a regional exclusive. I got King Halbert and Macy and only need the Queen to complete the family set! But this set will not ever be released where I live >< UGHGHGH. Gotta save up and pay double to import it ><
