Day Three: Measure of a Man

Fred Rhodes / Adventurer1 was working late in the Engineering Classroom trying to figure out a component for an upcoming class.

"Look how dirty this place is, the least the host could do is clean it up before taking pictures."

Shut up. I told you not to critique the pictures.

"You're writing this. You're doing it to yourself."

Fred pauses for a moment.

"Wait a second." he says. "Does this mean I'm going to die?"

"Yes." the figure says.

He presses a button to electrocute Fred, but he finds himself unsuccessful.

"Hah. I've looked at the original Excalibur when Shadows was electrocuted. This time, I'm wearing safety equipment."

"Maybe so, but this there's no safety equipment for this."

The figure pulls out a phaser.

"Well, I suppose you're right about that, but science is-"

But the figure is done listening, and he blasts Fred into a million pieces.

"Damn this place needs a scrub."

Shut up!!

Meanwhile, Emma Lane / vampyre78 is just standing in the lounge for some reason.

"It's really convenient that the people that are going to be killed by night actions are always out and about at night, you know?" she says.

"Yes, it's really convenient." says the figure who has suddenly appeared.

"Hey, wait, what's that over there?" she asks the figure.

"Huh? What?"

But Emma has fooled the figure, and she runs off.

"Wait, Emma! Come back! I have to kill you!" the figure yells.

But Emma has run off to the holodeck, where she hopes to hide in an already running program.

"What the hell? Islanders? Who the heck is running this program?"

She's so lost in her confusion that she doesn't notice that her killer has followed her in, and stands behind her, ready to push.

"There's nothing wrong with Islanders. It was a pretty cool theme."

"I don't think it was...oh crap."

The figure pushes Emma Lane / vampyre78, who probably hits a rock or something. Either way, she's dead. She's definitely going to drown. How graphic do you want this game to be anyway? Creeps.

"Wow. They should really install some safety protocols in this place. It's dangerous."

"Well, I'll say I'm partially impressed. Greg Kennedy was a member of the League of Purists, so good job on that. However, both Fred Rhodes and Emma Lane were Loyalists, so that's bad. Keep trying, I'm somewhat positive that you can do it."

Rules:

1) Every player has received their own character. You are either aligned as a Loyalist or the League of Purists. The Loyalists need to eliminate the League of Purists and the League of Purists need to outnumber the town.

2) Every day you will be able to vote for a player. Voting should be done as so: Vote: Character (Player). Unvoting is to be done in the same fashion: Unvote: Character (Player). A majority vote is required to lynch a player. You must vote every day.

3) A game day will last 72 hours. You may not vote within the first 24 hours of the day. Once the day is over, you will have 24 hours to send in a night action if this applies to you. Nights will last at most 48 hours. You may not talk about the game outside of the day thread.

4) The alignment of players who have been lynched, as well as those who died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day.

5) You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage.

6) You are encouraged to role-play in this game. I've provided a bare-bones role for you to flesh out if you wish. With that being said, please do not post out of character in the game thread. You may PM other players, but do so at your own risk.

7) If you die, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any players, living or dead. Any information you had is null and void and is not allowed to be passed on.

8) Don't edit your posts.

9) You must post in every day thread.

10) Try to be nice to your fellow players. I won't accept overt bullying.

11) Violation of your first rule will result in a 4-vote penalty, your second violation will result in your death. Since this is a Mafia School, I will try to be lenient, but the best lesson can also sometimes be the harshest.

12) If any player asks you to break these rules, report them to me immediately with proof of their violation.

Huh, well good vote guys, but I'm still worried. Honestly, I was suspicious of Fred for a bit but he (actually a she) really came up strong there at the end. I feel like secrets are kinda off as our number is so low so I can say that she PM'ed me a list of suspicions during day 2. Greg was on that list so she had something right. I'll look up the other names and share them ASAP.

(Ps I got clarification from bob that it's ok to share what I've received in a PM as long a it's not one from him.)

I will take your point under consideration as it is logical. However, if I find something that Fred relayed to me that I feel could help us, it is my duty to share it. We'd all be well served if we both disclosed our lists sooner rather than later. If either of us is scum, there's a pretty big incentive to use these lists for last minute "revelations"

As always great list, really helpful on this. Here are my takeaways so far from it:

Warren and Jordan are the only 2 on there that didn't vote for known scum. Every other(still alive) player voted for Greg.

With time running out in the day, I must make a decision. From what we have, Greg is looking the most suspicious. Therefore:

And then Jeff. Now Jeff is an interesting one because he was pushing hard for people to vote early and 'show their work' in school terms and very early in the day voted for Greg and pushed that Greg's actions, especially in timing of votes were pointing to him manipulating bandwagons. He then switched to Emma.

And then:

I'm on the fence between the two. I more switched to prevent a flood of votes against Greg. But now I'm more concerned with preventing a tie.

Night 1

Emily was driving the discussion and had Greg and Issac on her scum list: Issac was loyal. But she was on to something with Greg. She is targeted that night.

Jeff started out driving the discussion. Enough so that I figured he was going to be targeted on night 2. But Fred stepped it up. And despite Jeff's analysis of Greg that helped get him lynched, Fred is targeted.

Emma was a loyal town but also getting votes for suspicious behavior. Given that a lot of effort would've happened today focusing on her I cannot imagine why the scum targeted her.

I'm still of the opinion that the loyal townies have a kill night action. They just aren't helping us very much. Stop killing loyal students!

I am too, there's no way that the Purists could kill two people every night. That's just stupidly in their favour if it were true.

Well, including the dead plus the two of us makes five known town. Taking the night roles possibilities into account and that as newbies we have all been try to play our character traits and the possible voting trends? that we have three or four scum. Now after the bandwagon against you and Emily making sense of it that you were town I feel that both Jordon and Emma were scum side. Tim seems town, but I can't be sure. And I really feel that Wille is scum, and possibly Greg. After today's post I'm now wondering if Emma is town and Jeff is scum. Warren, maybe town, seems to joke a lot, not be overly concerned, mentions guns in several posts.....maybe town, possibly the vigilante? What is your list?

I now firmly believe we have four scum. Town: Adam, Fred, Tim, Warren, Jeff, Scum: Willie, Jordon, Greg, Emma Why. The voting trends between day 1 and day2. If I'm right ill vote Greg then Warren will invite you and vote Greg to seal it. I believe Jeff is questionable but possibly town.

Now clearly, reading over this two messages, Fred was not right on with everything. However, I felt this info needed shared as Fred was clearly perceived as I threat.

Also note that disagree with the assessment that we have 4 scum. I feel there were likely three as if there were 4 the scum would end the game far to quickly.

Yep, we're done for if there was 4 yesterday since the split would be 3-3 now and scum would be able to force votes. So let's all stick with 3 total scum since that's the number that allows us to live another day.

If we had 3 scum yesterday, everyone needs to keep in mind that the ratios are exactly the same today as they were yesterday so rooting out scum is every bit as important today as it was yesterday.

I'm surprised that she thinks I am as much scum as Greg was. Partially since I'm a loyal townie and partially because the evidence against me she was asking me about which seemed like a whole lot of nothingburger.

Anyway, as contradictory as it may seem, Warren was really supporting Greg so maybe he is town. After all, Greg looked like a good lynch bet from the beginning of the day and today that really looks like a bad call.

Timothy jumped on the bandwagon near the end when it seemed like momentum was going against Greg and he was going out anyway. Overall, I feel like he's been pretty quiet. So, he is my number 1 scum choice for today.
