@ efferman: My son built the 8458 B-Model, and I agree that one looks cool but it utilizes different Technic body panels from 12 years ago:

i dont think that the use of different panels is a reason for bad looking. only the proportions are wrong. the bonnet lower and the windscreen bigger and it will look much better

Agree the issue is with the position of the bonnet

I would say it's modelled after a different class of race truck. It remains to be seen if the new truck has a working steering wheel like the old one does.

Hello, I am legomuppet9 and I like building my own models in Lego Technic. I display my work on Flickr :classic:

I think that the material handler looks really good with the parts selection, plus the fact that it is a nice model :classic: (not the B-Model however... ).

The Grand Prix Car looks really good however it looks to be quite expensive

The other models are OK but aren't making me want to buy them.

I think the Grand Prix racer will be right around the same price as the 8070 supercar. Maybe a bit less since it has no power functions.

Yes I know, but it is still a bit too expensive for my budget

I have a surprise for you: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=74934

It's on top of all the topics in the technic section... :sweet:

Again why did Lego make such yucky looking b models. What the heck is that yellow thing?!

I was thinking about it too. It looks like dozer with fork or with ski...

Not every lego technic vehicle is modeled after an actual thing, some models are just plain imaginary.

Those knobby tires on the dirt bike look like they could be useful; too bad there are only two. A set of 8 of those on a 4x4 trial truck could be cool.

At firts look I thought that B model of motocross bike was another chopper, but now I see that its actually speedway bike.

I like how they made front arm guards (because of all dirt in the air they are must-have) and foot rest on just one side (other foot is usually on the ground)

For those not familiar with this sports, its oval track dirt racing where most of the time they drive sideways. Bikes are adapted to that.

The yellow thing could be a tracked farm tractor with a hay bale fork.

I also think so. I often see similar tractors at work, but they are mostly with tires, not tracks (bales are usually picked in grass surface, and tracks would do nothing good to it)

I'm excited that we get another F1 car since I missed 8458 back then but the color scheme is horrid. It looks as if a small child built the car using the pieces he had on hand, not caring which colors went where. What a waste of a good design.

I plan on buying the F1 and changing the color scheme. The model design is what I'm after. That and the parts. :)
