MOC cutter Captain's Fall

Recommended Posts

This is a small ship I designed in LDD. It is a cutter, and it is named Captain's Fall because the captain fell off the boat, and got his leg eaten by a shark.

This is minifig scale, but since I haven't bought it yet, there are no mini figs.

This is the ship

this is one of the custom cannons that will be on the deck (there will be two)

Here is what it should look like (sort of lol) when I buy it and put sails on.

That is a neat design *y*

I'ld like to try to do a real brick version like that.

The brick built hull is hard to pull off sometimes, but you did a good job.

I for one love these small ships. They are more realistic, (in terms of size relative to TLC standard hull) as most real pirate ships were small campaired to most merchant and warships.

Couldn't agree more, love the small ship.... Good job! Can't wait to see the real thing.

I like small ships too, and I have a couple designed.

There is only one thing I don't like about ships this size, and it is that if mini-figures were to represent real people, this would be a very small boat. In relation to the lego pirate ships, like BSB, it is a reasonable size. But if you look at some of the huge lego ships, which actually would be about the right size for minifigures, ships like this one would be a rowboat.

Hey, there, Nacker! That cannon design really is ingenious! For a brick built boat, it's not half bad! In fact it's good. ;-) The close up of the hull in image two is uncanny as far as illustrating the feel of a hull goes. Excellent job, very nice. I'd love to see the ship rigged with real sails. The figurehead (whatever it is :-/ :-$) I'm not keen on. Otherwise, great job!

As others have said, that cannon is very nice.

I've always used 2x2 'L' plates for gun carriages, but the 3x2 wedge is the perfect choice.

The ship seems like a good design for its size and it appears to be making good use of the more recent LEGO pieces. Actually this MOC gives me hope for Digital Designer because from my past experiences it didn't really seem to offer any useful purpose for me. However, that was an older version so I assume its improved since then.

Now Digital Designer needs the ability to add sails!

Over two weeks have passed without nary a response. Mr. Nacker, if you can hear me, what is the situation of Captain’s Fall? I'd like to see the ship in the real world, with the captain, too.

What ye be lookin’ fer is a piratical digital designarrr. ;-) Now wouldn't it be spiffy if TLC added the option to divide the factory into themes?

Mr Nacker, I'm wondering if you have purchased this ship yet, or would you consider purchasing it in the future?

Would it not be better if mor better sails were drawn upon the ship? Maybe 1 of the graphics people here could do it.

sorry i've been kind of busy lately, school has started for me. I originally intended to buy this ship and a few others i designed, but I spent half of my lego savings on a BSB (150$) which i found at a hobby shop near me, I could not pass up the opportunity to get such a classic pirate ship. I spent the rest of my spare change on gas.

Heh, congratulations on the find! Was the BSB still mint inside the box? What is your opinion of the set? (If you've built it already...)

Ahhhhhhhh skewl! Many seem to be experiencing that at the moment so blast those skewls from distract people away from the important things - Pirate MOCing and sharing the result in this forum!

A Black Seas Barracuda for $150 you say? Where abouts in the world are you? I'm assuming you mean 150 US dollars?
