Pulp Detective Posted September 4, 2014 Well I'm glad I still have the Fort in one piece even though it's completely dusty.
Hive Posted September 4, 2014 I sadly still lack Shipwreck Hideout, but have the rest of the sets pictured. It was a short but good theme where I actually liked every single set in the theme (which doesn't happen often). Lots of variety, good figures, interesting parts and great colours. If the 2015 wave is anything like this, I'll be a happy AFOL.

True, if the 2015 sets have same taste and flavor, I will buy them all...hope so..

Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted September 5, 2014 My kids and I had just gotten into LEGO at the time and were into Star Wars and Castle. I did purchase Pirates sets the year that LEGO S@H had sets at 50% off. That deal was too good to pass up considering I liked Pirates but was reluctant to dive into another theme. For now, my Pirates sets are sitting in storage with 75% of the family LEGO collection.
Zeya Posted September 5, 2014 I was just coming out of my dark age in mid-late 2010, just as the theme was disappearing. I thought I had more time to acquire sets, but I ended up having to get the exclusive Shipwreck Hideout set off eBay and got a used copy of BBB from a fellow EB member. I have all the core sets and the Imperial Flagship, and I think also the advent calendar. I wasn't interested in the battle packs or chess sets since I had all the figs anyway from the sets. One gem that I think some people forget is this little "basic" set that has a nice pirate fig in it. In fact, this is probably my favorite pirate fig of all time! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6192-
Matteo1130 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Never noticed that set... in fact it has all the features of a caribbean pirates concept! Treasure, ship, plank and parrot. The minifig is great! Edit: I can see it well into a Monkey Island™ theme, too bat TLG never did something like that! Edited September 6, 2014 by Matteo1130
VintageLegoEra Posted September 6, 2014 @Zeya:....this basic set is my first time to see..nice looking set. I believe the most completely pirate theme sets are the 8 sets in my first photo, rest are addition. Me too, not interested in these chess ,.....etc as they are not a part of the theme
VintageLegoEra Posted September 9, 2014 So....lets see more 2009 photos if you have guys...:-)
Lauriator89 Posted September 11, 2014 I'm a classic pirates maniac! In 2009 Ibought every sets of the new pirates collection (except shipwreck hideout) and i wasn't disappointed. The new lego pirates are very well made. IMO The only things that I disappointed about it are: The soldier's fort lack of a personal identity (it seems to me a fusion between sabre island and broadside brig just a little bigger) and the price it's a little bit expensive for this; I saw the pictorial review of shipwreck hideout and i don't like about it. The only thing i love about it is the female pirate minifigure! Except this i love the new pirates!
cullmancreations Posted September 11, 2014 I remember that small set it was pretty cool a simple but fun build.
Dreamweb Posted September 30, 2014 It's been 5 years already? The time does pass quickly doesn't it? Anyway, looking back at the 2009 wave after 5 years I must admit it was a pretty decent series of sets and a solid return of the much anticipated theme. Those were the first 'real' Pirate sets since the 1997 termination of the original line and I remember the hype and the excitement when people in here learned that they were finally coming back. The Brickbeard's Bounty was a good ship, then came the Imperial Flagship which was great, although I still prefer the Black Seas Barracuda over it, but that's just a matter of personal choice. The other sets were more or less OK, the Shipwreck Hideout was pretty good. I own everything from that line except for Tic Tac Toe, the Chess, the Advent Calendar and some other small unusual sets like the battle pack released some time later. But everything else that came in a box - I have it. Overall, a good series, a much needed resurrection of LEGO Pirates, could have lasted a little longer though. Looking forward to the 2015 wave! VintageLegoEra Posted September 30, 2014 @Dreamweb: u r right....and hope the 2015 is better than the better 2014 but i doubt that.

VintageLegoEra Posted September 30, 2014 @Matthias: Thank you do much for these Awesome photos and collections. Very nice!. I am planing to buy a new set of the old vintage imperial Flagship...
Matthias Posted October 1, 2014 oh new, you mean sealed. That will be very expensive. I can only advice you to buy a ship with very yellowed bricks and sails full of mould. Than it is very cheap, nowbody whant it. And than clean it with oxy action and water. It will look like new :) But, of course I know a new one has another feeling. It will be a glorious feeling to hold it in your hands. I got a new sabre island a year ago, but I could not open it , it was just perfect, I could not destroy it . Therefore I sold it with a little profit.
