RULES!

1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Federation (Town) or Blacktron (Mafia). To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles.

2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. Voting is compulsory. Every player must have a vote placed by the end of the day. Those who do not follow this rule will be subject to 5 penalty votes.

3. A game day on LI-420 will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day may end early should a unanimous vote be reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage.

4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day.

5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage.

6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game.

7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on.

8. You may not edit your posts.

9. You must post in every day thread.

10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM.

11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence.

12. There are no clues in the pictures. I will not intervene should someone suggest there are clues in the pictures, because there are none. There are not clues in the character flavor text. I wrote that stuff before I even decided on alignments and roles. No punishment will be doled out to violators of this rule, but I expect violators to be heavily harassed by other, rule-abiding players.

13. Grab your towel and don't panic.

:sing: Where's my comical Night Action prank???? :cry_sad: I want it at the interlude. :hmpf_bad:

:cry_happy: Pwease!!!

:sweet: We're all alive!!!

Rip was Town. Too bad he couldn't be bothered to pay attention then. I'd love to know Bock's affiliation considering how strange the wagon shifted from him to Rip. Interesting indeed!

And with Rip flipping Town, that really narrows the field down to who the Scum vs. confirmed Townies are. That means one of these claimed PRs must be Scum, or maybe two?

Gee, who could I be referring to?

Paul, you either have the weirdest habit of flipping out because you have a PR (unprecedented in your games, despite the metagaming you did to yourself, I looked. The only thing that compares is your weird reaction to def saving you from the lynch in Harriet Slutter) or you're the Scummiest Scum that ever Scummed in Scum–Town.

Way to go blocker or protector!!

I still feel that 4 of 2 could be the Scum killer and it would be easy for him to promise, as "vig", to stay home but enough about life in my tunnel. I hope the Town block was able to get some information last night.

Wi' a hundred pipers, an' a', an' a',

Four people came and messed with me last night. Jokes on you, I'm a heavy sleeper.

I find it ridiculous that we've yet to catch a single scum. Everything about his lynch seemed right at the time. Looking back, the lack of defence and the face that he removed his avatar rather quickly could be quite telling.

I suppose I'm going to be the primary lynch target today, which is actually quite brilliant for the scum since I'm town and they probably don't need to kill many more of us. The scum probably mixed between the bandwagons since it'd look very suspicious if they all went on one. The fact that there were no kills last night is also telling. I know the vigilante was told to stay home, but what about the scum and serial killer? A block and a protect? Maybe the serial killer is a nice person and decided not to kill anyone last night after all. Or maybe the scum and serial killer targeted the same person who was being protected.

As for my suspicions, I don't know. If I was wrong about Rip maybe I'm wrong about everyone else? That means I need to reevaluate the situation. In the morning...what? It is morning? Whatever.

Seamus; i came here earlier to PM because there were important matters that needed discussing in private which by far superseded the need to address your misplaced concerns.

I don't care what you and the Town block are doing, what was this about? What were these pressing private matters?

You spend a lot of time hovering and waiting for new days to not post and just crawl into the woodwork.

You may have the Town block fooled but not me. :hmpf_bad:

Unless Clem is also scum, that's pretty much impossible. We know there were 3 killers last night, so if 4 of 2 fake-claimed the vig, someone would have counterclaimed or Clem would know the real vig died.

Good to see we all survived the night. Thanks Mr. Serial Killer for cooperating with us. Unless of course your kill failed, in which case chwee ni duh! I'm sure there'll be some interesting results to report on today.

Barometer for exactly one Town role dying. Why do people keep trying to act like a Universal Backup will continue to find out which roles perish at night? And what do you, Nathan, honestly think happens if more than one PR dies in one night?

And three killers killing doesn't mean they all survived the night. We've established...recently in your game...that a kill does not block a kill.

4 of 2 does claim very late in the day, after Minga makes its case, and long after Minga announces which roles it is looking for counterclaims from.

I can't find any information on it, but I would assume that a universal backup would be given a choice of night actions should more than one PR die that night. How would it work otherwise? A random assignment? Or the first kill to be sent in?

Clem, could you clarify this for us?

Vote analysis from the worst vote analyzer among us:

I think right now I'll Vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo) for his suspicious behavior and some good points Seamus brought up about him. You can't accuse me of "sheeping" or "jumping on the bandwagon". I've been suspicious of Nemo since early yesterday when Clem claimed. I'd be voting for Paul, but Minga and Dragonfire seem to trust him and he's claimed town watcher. While right now it would be bad to lynch a townie, it would be even worse to lynch a town PR.

Harriet has indeed suspected Rip for some time:

Rip

Keeps pulling read and runs and Hinckey has raised some legitimate points about him. I believe I analyzed his strange monologue about not protecting Clem yesterday. He's still acting suspicious. :hmpf_bad:

Vote: 'Rip' Sewer (Captain Nemo)

If it's between me or him, it's not logical to vote for myself. I made my views on him clear earlier. He's been bugging me since he went down extremely hard on Dr. Wen.

Well, this is a weird vote, to me. Yes, the Town block leader basically said to choose between the two of them but if Bock is really working for the Town he'd have some cases of his own, some impassioned posts, as some might say. Let's look for his suspicions.

Says he's suspicious of Minga and Rip. Oh, he does mention Rip. Huh...

The problem with Minga ...

I'm still suspicious of Rip Sewer as I stated earlier. He went after Wen way too hard, especially since Wen ended up being town. Like Seamus said, he might be taking a lesson out of the Scumbacarrot book. For now it's a bit of a tie between him and Paul for me.

Then after Clem and Minga:

I'm going to go for a theory that might seem outlandish, since that's what I specialize in, and might be totally wrong, because that's something else I specialize in. It's possible that the investigator is dead. Clem and Minga are both scum ...

And Clem and/or Minga again:

...

No, not everyone can be the godfather. But the person who is claiming in thread to have been investigated on night one certainly can be.

Trying to get the confirmed Townie to reveal themselves...repeatedly...

To whoever this person is, reveal yourself. Don't listen to Minga, she's being dumb.

*huh* Now it's Stig, 4 of 2 and Paul with some Minga sprinkled in...

I'm torn between Stig, 4 of 2, and Paul.

I don't care what Clem and Minga say about Paul, I'm still suspicious of him. The fact that Minga is defending him so vehemently is equally suspicious, ...

Now here's 4 of 2's vote:

Since Rip has mostly flown under my radar, I'm doing a full ISO on him. It was pretty quick, since he's the least talkative of all the living players. Heck, there's 3 dead players who have made more total posts in the game than him. Not that talkative is a guarantee of town, but scum DO usually try not to be noticed. Anyway, here's what he's said:

Day 1

Fluff

Fluff

Fluff

Tried to make Wen jump (couldn't / didn't see the difference between people trying to encourage Xen vs lynching Wen)

And then made this awesomely thought-out vote:

Note that he didn't even accuse Wen of being scummy.

Day 2

Said that the town shouldn't block Clem, when he obviously meant protect. that's pretty anti-town there. There's only 1 known role; that seems like the obvious person to protect.

A nit-picky attack on clem, picking at single words like complaining that Clem talked about a godfather rather than the godfather

Fluff

Questioned claw and threw some suspicion on Minga

More of the same

And then another powerfully justified vote:

So again, not even accusing Claw of being scummy, but going along with the bandwagon. He voted 5th both days; comfortably in the middle.

Day 3

Fluff with poking at clem for not answering all Rip's questions on day 2, and a minor poke at Zip based on day 1 vote analysis (actually, the same argument I made in much more detail later that there must be a scum on Clem's day 1 wagon, but he just briefly mentioned it)

A huge fluffy set of answers to Seamus' suspicions on him, plus saying he doesn't trust Clem and trying to get more town info to come out

He got voted on by Harriet without much reasoning

Then Rip defended Zip as being a confused townie and not scum at all, plus voted for me by just repeating Seamus' thoughts

And finally a brief appearance to tell Minga to make a case against Bock

Overall, I'm not getting a town vibe off of him. And we need a lynch, so I'm going to

Unvote: Zipzop (Sir Stig)

and

Vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo)

I will be around the rest of the day to keep discussing and help achieve a lynch as needed.

Very thorough! Let's see where he mentions Rip before that:

Hm. At this point we only have your own word that you're loyal. You could be scum trying to get the real investigator to out themselves - at this point (with 7 town dead) the scum would gladly trade goon for the investigator.

So, investigator, I'd assume you've checked TWO people now with two nights. You need to have the second person ALSO out themselves as cleared and verify Minga's claim. Or if you found a scummo, we need to know that too.

Doesn't like Minga's claim and, like Bock, asks for the other cleared Townie to claim.

WTF?...

Vote: Zipzop Beetlejuice (Sir Stig)

Originally votes for Zipzop

But that's not what you're doing. You're just repeating questions that have already been addressed multiple times. So I'm done with this topic.

Argues with Nathan but doesn't seem to suspect him. Are they staging a fight to fit his "people who fight are Townies" rule?

Ugh, it's 2:30am. I need to go to sleep. I'll do the rest in the morning.

I'll Vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo). It seems like more or less everyone (except Bock and Rip, obviously) seem willing to go one way or the other. They both seem to be walking something of a middle road. I've voiced a few concerns about Rip previously (though admittedly mostly in private) and I have no issues with voting for her. If it comes down to it I'll switch my vote to secure a lynch, but I'd rather see Rip go.

At least Bock is better for conversation (I never thought I'd be saying that *huh* ). Rip is seriously only ever around to defend herself from what I've seen.

Since no PR claims have been contested and since Clem apparently knows if any prs would have died last night, I'm inclined to believe them.

Rip and Bock have both pinged me, but Bock has been making some fairly impassioned posts today, which I usually see as his town tell. I will be back before the end of the day, but for now I will

unvote: 4 of 2 (mostlytechnic)

Vote : Rip (captain nemo)

What about us? Do you not think some townies are against a tie/no lynch?

Generally it's first to the gate so I don't think we can have a no-lynch if 2 players have 7 votes

Well that is if we were 14 ...

And you know what? I have no problem with lunching Rip seeing he contributed even less than me!

Here I'll sway the vote and let someone hammer him:

unvote: bock (Bob)

Vote : Rip (captain nemo)

megabluck it. I'll hammer him. Minga said Bock or Rip. :def_shrug:

vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo)

Have to say, I'm sorta surprised to still be here today. Except that I the came to the conclusion that the scum likely would NOT have killed me overnight in order to keep suspicion on me and keep me as a distraction after yesterday. Hmph.

I still feel that 4 of 2 could be the Scum killer and it would be easy for him to promise, as "vig", to stay home but enough about life in my tunnel. I hope the Town block was able to get some information last night.

Oh look, someone starting it already....

Sucks that Rip was town, however this greatly narrows down the field of possible scum, Currently awaiting investigation results, and IMO there's a 75% chance we caught scum with them.

Sure hope you all got SOMETHING since we all apparently suck hard this game at finding scum.

Unless Clem is also scum, that's pretty much impossible. We know there were 3 killers last night, so if 4 of 2 fake-claimed the vig, someone would have counterclaimed or Clem would know the real vig died.

As someone already pointed out, Clem is only a backup for the first PR (and he said only for certain PRs, not all of them), so he still wouldn't know if the real vig was dead if he'd already inherited another role. So your logic there doesn't work. But the real vig IS alive since I'm here. And I'm the real town vig. And I stayed home last night as requested.

4 of 2 does claim very late in the day, after Minga makes its case, and long after Minga announces which roles it is looking for counterclaims from.

True but irrelevant. My claim was truth and only because town was about to lynch a townie, ME.

I'm genuinely amazed we're all still alive.

I really hope the town block came up with something. They had to have, right? We apparently managed to prevent the scumkill, possibly the SK's too?

This. Town blocker/protector, you did good work last night and need to make sure that the block knows who you blocked and who you protected (well, mostly who was blocked) since that's a good lead on finding scum.

Thanks Mr. Serial Killer for cooperating with us. Unless of course your kill failed, in which case chwee ni duh! I'm sure there'll be some interesting results to report on today.

I wouldn't give Mr SK too much credit - it's in his/her best interest right now for the days to keep going. Assuming the standard SK win condition (be in the last x number of players, or survive till end, something like that), the fact that we've caught zero scum is a BIG problem for the SK. Therefore, I'd assume the SK voluntarily stayed home and that our blocker or protector prevented the scum kill. There is zero reason for the scum NOT to have sent a kill. I don't really care who the protector protected, since that doesn't tell us anything. But who the blocker blocked would give us 50/50 odds on the blocked person being scum. So if the block could get share with everyone who the blocker blocked, that would sure be a great start to the day's voting!

I doubt there would be a conversion in a game this small so we must have nailed the block and protect. Way to go, Town block. You should be really proud of yourselves.

No worries!!!

I for sure thought we would all be dead this morning; I'm VERY curious to see whom

the blocker blocked!

I'm here, I'm here. I came by twice today to send potato messages but otherwise was incapable of posting due to ... Pressing apples to make cider

:hmpf_bad:

So your logic there doesn't work. But the real vig IS alive since I'm here. And I'm the real town vig. And I stayed home last night as requested.

Clem explicitly stated that the vig was one of the PRs he could inherit, and we know the vig couldn't have died until night 2. I feel like the backup should be able to pick which night action to inherit if two viable PRs die on the same night, as otherwise I feel like the role would be too swing-y. I'm not sure why Clem doesn't want to reveal what would theoretically happen in such a scenario though - I can't think of a way it would put us at a disadvantage if that was made public. If anything, it would help to address any doubts we have about 4 of 2's vig-claim.

megabluck it. I'll hammer him. Minga said Bock or Rip. :def_shrug:

vote: Rip Sewer (Captain Nemo)

You vote last under the assertion that we're all too sheep-ish to formulate our own opinions. That's a good place to sit, especially after a couple of suggestions that you lead the last two lynches on townies Wen and Claw. I'm not sure I'd agree with that personally, but it had been brought up. Even though you want to withhold your vote to avoid influencing anyone else, you still make it pretty clear that you'd prefer to lynch Rip:

Minga, Clem, can you give reasons for voting for Bock? Town block...lead us? :hmpf:

Otherwise, without reading over the day threads, I feel more prepared to vote for Rip than Bock. Unless, our illustrious Town leaders can demonstrate some reason why he's the better lynch?
So, the people I find suspicious are voting for Rip but I was going to vote for Rip but now the people I was leaning Town on are voting for Bock...

You claim that you would have hammered Bock too if he were in the same position as Rip, but looking back over your posts, you've barely talked about Bock at all. Only a couple of times you have mentioned him flying under the radar, and usually you accompany his name with a few others who are in a similar boat to him. Over the course of the game, this is probably the strongest you have spoken out against him:

Bock Pathos – candidate! But why? I remember suspecting him but I don't remember any reason being as strong as some others...like 4 of 2.

So you suspect him but can't remember why.

But wait, there's something else too...

When 4 of 2 revealed he killed Dave, I was surprised as I had him pegged as the scum-kill. Now I can't help but wonder if the scum managed to find out Laura was the tracker and kill her...

Here are the codes Zipzup sent out:

Here is the full code:

Seamus got +2, nothing more. This is because he brings things up no matter what side he is on. Although I am now of the opinion that he makes up his mind (consciously or subconsciously) first and then tries to pick things apart to force things to fit his predetermined opinion.

Vasques got 1 and 17, nothing more.

Bock got confirmation page, order of signing in posts.

This was the initial code.

I sent reminder posts to:

Nathan informing him that Seamus and Vasques got the code.

4 of 2 informing her that Seamus and Bock got the code.

Diamond Dodd informing him that Bock and Vasques got the code.

So if Bock and Seamus are both scum, they'd have these clues:

+2

Confirmation page, order of signing in posts

That wouldn't quite be enough to work out the tracker. But there's more:

I got +2

Someone got 1 and 17

Another person was told order of confirmed in the C&D thread, higher number is the tracker.

So apparently Vasquez told Seamus her code before she died! I don't believe Seamus ever told us that.

With those 3 pieces of information, the scum know that the two people Zipzup named were Clem and Laura. Obviously Clem had already claimed backup, so that means that all signs point to Laura being the tracker...

... And she winds up dead the next day.

Where the hell are you getting that? I never spoke with Vazquez and neither 4 of 2 or Bock ever told me their part of the code. Zipzop told us in thread the numbers were 1 and 17.

Confirmation page, order of signing in posts

Thanks for that analysis there Nathan... lemme check some timestamps on things. Something else in there is pinging me.

4 of 2, didn't you tell us you were given the key? Which would've been "confirmation page..." So, why would you agree with his analysis?

You claim that you would have hammered Bock too if he were in the same position as Rip, but looking back over your posts, you've barely talked about Bock at all.

Which is why I voted for Rip. Why would I vote for someone I hadn't made a case about? I would've hammered Bock to make sure we had a lynch. I certainly don't say anywhere that I think Bock is Town.

Nutshell : I got a piece that said the highest number was the tracker, and that Seamus and Bock had the other pieces. That's all I knew until more names started flying in today's discussion.

So, 4 of 2, why would you say "Nice analysis" if you know what Nathan thinks Bock was given was actually part of what you were given.
