narbilu Posted June 24, 2014 At the request some fellow Avalonians, I present: Hembrugga: an elven settlement at the far corner of Hemresa. This settlement splits the Enchanted Forest from the Mystic Islands to mainland Avalonia and is considered a strategic home for all those fey that want easy access to both worlds. overview east wall gates west wall great hall
Scaevola Posted June 24, 2014 Nice, I like the rounded sections of the great hall, as well as the massive trees. The stone sections (particularly the windowss) are also great.
TheUtilityBelt Posted June 24, 2014 This is pretty cool my man! I like the two entrances of the enchanted forest and mystic isles.
Lord Vladivus Posted June 24, 2014 Very nice! I like it!
Hammerhand Posted June 24, 2014 Looks great! I love the main gate part, with the spear-portculis, and the different roof techniques. The great hall also looks really good! My only critique here would be that the ground inside the walls is pretty plain, with just the dark bley plates. Maybe adding some 1x1 studs/tiles would mix it up, and add more variation to the ground. Other than that it all looks really good!
robuko Posted June 25, 2014 This is really great! I wanted to see more of that grey building but now I am even more impressed by the outer walls. The integration of the big tree is very impressive. I really like your wooden details on the walls and the tree house.
MassEditor Posted June 25, 2014 Very neat narbilu, I definitely note some impressive and unique building techniques here (I'm particularly interested in that awesome portcullis you built which is just visible in one of the pics). The stone wall and tower are very cool too. I'm assuming this is a WIP? 'Cause I definitely look forward to seeing it with a few more details and a courtyard packed with people! narbilu Posted June 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks for all the compliments... I actually took the pictures, as requested by few, before I started taking it down. This MOC was mainly an out of control exercise, trying out some techniques, with trees and arches. My head is overflowing with ideas, my scetchbook is full, now just seeking time, to make realize the path of Hemresa. Edited June 26, 2014 by narbilu
Maxim I Posted June 26, 2014 Like I said earlier today, I love this settlement!! The tan building looks so majestic! Also the walls and towers are so nicely done!! Congratz!!!
Gabe Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks for taking the time to post this narbilu. So many nice architectural details on this, it's very impressive! The curved tan hall at the back (with matching steps underneath it! Nice ), the sweet river gatehouse with porticullis, the cross slits and wooden detailling on the walls and the intergration of the trees into the wall defense really stand out. I'd love to see a section of this on a smaller, more compressed scale, where you can go to town on making everything as detailed and fleshed out as possible. -Carson Haupt- Posted June 27, 2014 This is so cool! The tree is fantastic with the little house in it, and as I said in the other thread I absolutely love that great hall. The water gates are pretty neat too.
