Jakorin Swiftsword

(GoH) Task One: Celebration of Trade

Recommended Posts

After a long and arduous journey through the Kaliphlin deserts, negotiations of trade began immediately with the local Kaliphlin nobles. Jakorin Swiftsword, Lord of the land of Anvilon, discusses what items are to be traded, when, and how. Haggling is what some lords and nobles do best, and so it was for two days that the negotiations carried on, each seeking to walk away with the longer end of the stick. But in the end, both lords walked away content with their promised dues. Jakorin returned home to his manor in Anvilon.

Jakorin: "Friends, lords, and ladies, I welcome you into my great hall with excellent news! For the past few weeks, I have been in the midst of a negotiation with the Kaliphlin lord, Lord Seleno. In exchange for a healthy quantity of timber and Avalonian ale, they have promised us their famous dark chocolate and Kaliphlinian red wine! Both of which can be considered delicacies."

(Clapping ensues)

War Minister Charles: "An excellent trade, my lord! We are usually overstocked with timber and ale, so such a trade can only be seen as prosperous, morale-wise!"

General Boris: "Not just morale-wise, my friend, but also concerning trade with nearby lands. I now a few Avalonian land holders who would love to get their hands on exotic goods such as Kaliphlinian chocolate and wine. And would pay a hefty sum to do so!"

Jakorin: "And as a small token of their thanks, the Kaliphlins sent us on our way with a two sample barrels of their wine and a large box of their chocolate! I say we give them a try, eh?"

War Minister Charles: "Here, here!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And now on to the required part of task one. Below are the standard Anvilon foot soldiers. Standard foot soldiers are required to wear the dark green sleeves to distinguish their rank. Higher rank soldiers and officers wear the olive green sleeves. And as all Anvilon soldiers are required to wear, the rounded brim helmet rests upon their heads, no matter the rank.
Next is the higher ranking officers in the Anvilon military. They are General Boris and War Minister Charles. As you can see, Boris is required to wear the olive sleeves to distinguish higher rank, and the standard issue rounded brim helmet. Charles, does not participate in actual battles, so the sleeve rule is not one he has to abide, nor the helmet.
And finally we have the Spies and Mercenaries of Anvilon. Perhaps they are not the most desirable characters, but they are the few who do what they do(Did you catch all that? :grin: ) They have no formal set of attire, only what helps them get the job done. Their only requirement is to follow orders and report back, which they have no problem doing as long as they get paid.
I know I mentioned Jakorin's home realm of Anvilon in this moc, and that will be in my next build which will be to fufill the task required to name my character's home.
Also, I would like to recieve DoH credits for:
Architecture: Windows and window frames
General Building: Minifig Posing, Interior Design, Stained Glass
Thanks for looking! :classic:
Great interior here, good work on the fig combos as well! +1 for all the UP credits except advanced windows/window frames. That stained glass technique is really nice but given the fact that it's fairly simple and common, I'm not sure it deserves a whole credit. If you had been the first (or one of the first) to use it, I'd say, by all means, but given how popular a technique it's become, I'd like to see you do something different to demonstrate mastery.
Very beautiful MOC but I'm not a big fan of the minifigs. I'd say the mercenary on the right, of the last picture, looks pretty cool though. :classic:
Thanks. Actually, that mercenary was my least favorite of all of them.
I love look and colors of these walls :)
Got it from Theoden in the Helm's Deep set.
