Ninjago Sets Lego Missed

Recommended Posts

The Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu show can have a lot of different things than the sets based around it. So here, you can add what sets you think should have been made! I'll start:

The Preeminent Battle: Set includes 3 ghost warriors, two Skreemers and Nya in her water ninja garb. Set comes with some Stiix scenery (ie. A pier) and the Preeminent itself. Set features include: A ghost catapult on the pier, stud shooters on the Preeminent as well as the ability to launch Skreemers out of her mouth. £24.99

Your turn!

Set features include: The amazing Celestial Clock, with a lot of cool spinning components, the Helmet of Darkness and of course the clock-face of this doomsday device! Jay and Cole come with their Elemental blades. £49.99

Next please! :)

Obviously that Stone Army vehicle with the two drills and the tusks. I would've loved to see that as a set...

Lloyd's Treehouse.

Snake train from the rise of the snakes season.

They actually made a prototype for that but never made it a set:

They actually made a prototype for that but never made it a set:

Sigh... that's not a prototype. I feel like I have to keep explaining this.

That's a MOC by Mark Stafford, who has stated that it neither represents the "mobile fortress" from the show nor was ever intended to become a set. It was simply a "proof of concept" for the Fangpyre's ability to turn ordinary vehicles into snake versions, using the well-known Emerald Night as a base.

Something to think about with regard to potential sets is thematic unity. The Ninjago sets explore all kinds of colorful locations, but when it comes to the sets they generally try to stick to a specific visual language. So for instance, the 2011 sets featured white, black, and medium lilac Skulkin vehicles and locations as well as bright red, black, white, and brick yellow ninja temples, shrines, dojos, etc. The ice fortress and floating ruins from that year were cool locations, but would not have fit in with the overall visual language for that year.

Obviously, this is not a strict rule — the Battle for Ninjago City set in 2014 featured totally different color schemes from the rest of the year's sets — but it's still a good thing to think about. Keeping things consistent adds a bit of a "collect-them-all" feel, because each new vehicle adds to your established fleet and the locations for the year will all look good on display together.

The Serpentine mobile fortress from the first season could have potentially made a good set for 2012. Lots of good play features, and it fits the visual language of that year's vehicles. An Ouroboros playset could have also been cool and helped make up for the year's lack of location-based sets besides small shrines.

In 2013 there were a lot of great vehicle designs that didn't become sets, like the Hover Glider, Stone Army Catapult, and Tusk Invader. Admittedly, they don't all maintain the samurai motif for that year as well as the Warrior Bike and Garmatron did, but they still look like they could have made great sets with lots of play value.

In "Rebooted", Borg Tower is the most obvious omission. Lots of opportunities for great play features there. It'd be hard to get the sense of scale at a reasonable price, though! The Arcturus rocket would also be a great set that could be made to fit the color scheme of the Nindroid vehicles from that year, although it doesn't really maintain their trademark saw blade motif.

In "Tournament of Elements", the main omissions I can think of are the paddle steamer and Chen's palace. The latter could include a prop that was surprising to see omitted — Chen's chair with all the buttons!

In "Possession", the Cloud Kingdom could have been cool, but would not have really fit the visual language for this year's sets and packaging, and doesn't showcase a whole lot of potential play features. The Preeminent might have been a nice subject for a set which would definitely fit the visual language for the year, but it would be more or less impossible to create the impression of a giant walking city at any reasonable price point.

I wonder if they could have made Clouse's rock-mech into a set. And..

A set, "Rise of Anacondrai", with Snake Chen, Zugu and three other snake soldiers and a medium or large village build. Probably could include villagers and Kai, along with Cole.

Are there any other pictures of it? It looks like it'd be a fascinating reverse-engineering project... Edited by Lind Whisperer

Ourobourus

Iron Heights Prison

Grundal

Ouroboros

Kryptarum prison

Grundle

Snake train

It was a truck. It was driving on the road in two seperate episodes. It drove up a mountain in one. Kai, Jay, Cole and Sensei all called it a truck.

And, shouldn't this be called a "wishlist"? There's one for DC and Marvel. It's the same thing.

Kryptarum prison

Haha, that's so funny! I mixed up my prisons from two different themes! (Iron Heights is from DC)

Sorry for the error, fixed! Thanks for pointing it out!

No worries. My turn!

Monastery of Spinjitzu- $150-$200- Features the Monastery the ninja live in during seasons 1 and 2. Almost completely identical to the show's. Has 4 rooms to the sides and one in the middle for Sensei. A few steps leading to the Monastery are also built, along with a brick built mountain as a bit of a base. Includes a feature that makes the training course pop from the ground. Comes with that Sensei Wu minifig with the flute on his back, Zane, Jay and Cole in black outfits mixed with the colored ones. Ninja have even MORE serious expressions than before! >:D

Chen's recreation room- $30-$50- Features Chen's room chamber with his throne, and two floors, supported by neat-looking pillars. A trapdoor mechanism connected to Chen's chair. Set includes Chen, Clouse, 2 kabuki, Kapau and Chope.

I really hope those 2 are okay

The space truck they drove on the moon in the space episode. They would have a new astronaut suit design with parts of hair and colored bandanas printed on the faces so that the helmet can fit. It would also come with a few golden objects and a devastated spaceship part.
