Mister Phes Posted September 28, 2006 Welcome to the Pirate forum and congratulations for your first post Mr Doyle! However, your post would probably be better off in a new thread so we don't take this thread off topic. So I'll create a new one just for you!

Mister Phes Posted September 28, 2006 Is there any particular reason you lads lurked for so long before signing up? As soon as I found Eurobricks I posted right away without delay - I figured I wouldn't have anything to lose! But now that you both have posted, what inspired you to start posting Mr Morse? Scouty Posted September 29, 2006 Welcome aboard Mdoyle! Is it possible you could give us a link to the bricshelf folders you are refering to? I myself lurked, but this was before The Pirate Forum and a bit after it, i just came to Euro to check on news on the frontpage, Later i got into pirates and joined up and talked alot in the Pirate Forum and few in the other forums. I hope that you have a great time here at Eurobricks!
Mister Phes Posted September 29, 2006 I don't recall ever seeing any Monkey Island MOCs on Brickshelf, but I have seen Snicker's Monkey Skull Island which can be found in this thread here.
mdoyle Posted September 29, 2006 Melee Island Brickshelf folder Zombie Pirate LeChuck My folder with MI mocs that I can no longer find, so author unknown but probably the best MI mocs Ive seen.
Mister Phes Posted September 29, 2006 Are you a huge fan of the Monkey Island games Mr Doyle? I like the first three, but I don't really like the 3D graphics of Escape From Monkey Island. They don't seem to have the charm of the 2D graphics. I think they're too "Nintendo 64" for me.
Captain Ironhook Posted October 1, 2006 Is this the pirate that the capitano from pirates of the Caribbean movie was based from?

As soon as I found Eurobricks I posted right away without delay - I figured I wouldn't have anything to lose! But now that you both have posted, what inspired you to start posting Mr Morse? I used to post over at LUGNET with little response, I lurked over here to see if people actually got constructive feedback on thier MOC's and low and behold there's a whole boatload (pardon the pun) of intelligent, creative, and ACTIVE posters, hence I put away my cloak of invisibility and steped into the light. Berry Syedow Posted October 3, 2006 Ahoy, mdoyle, welcome aboard! Take a seat and have some rum! Melee Island Brickshelf folder My folder with MI mocs that I can no longer find, so author unknown but probably the best MI mocs Ive seen. I remember seeing the first folder over on classic-castle.com, can't remember if the creator himself posted about it, but I've never seen anything more come of it. The last one is incredible. The Monkey head is awesome. As is the ship diorama. Judging by the abundance of tan, I

Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2006 Yes indeed they did, and the Monkey Island games are filled with Indiana Jones and Star Wars and jokes and puns. This is probably far too wide to be posted in a thread but I can't be bother cropping, so here's a scene from the computer game from which the giant monkey head MOC was inspired. Be sure to scroll right. I'll crop it later.
Mister Phes Posted October 16, 2006 I assume this means it not displaying, try freshing the thread by pressing F5 or check back later because eventually I'll crop the image and upload the edited version to BrickShelf. Then I'll post in the thread and everyone will be joyous!
jamtf Posted October 16, 2006 I had the game when I was younger, both the Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge. They were running on my 386 sx computer I had at the time (mid 1990s = ages ago!). I recently downloaded the Secret of Monkey Island on my XP machine and it runs well except my game is without the sound and music. That's a bit of a shame but it is a neat game that brings back old memories. I did not collect Lego then but I certainly had a preference for pirate things so it seems!! It is a fun game with Stan and his previously owned vessels shed (see Puerto Brico thread). Could not get rid of him let alone buy a boat from him!
