2maxwell Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) I didn't see this in the indexed pages, so I figured I'd ask. What are some good torsos for sailors from the late 18th and early 19th centuries? I dont mean pirate torsos, but sailors in navies. Thanks in advance. Edited February 8, 2012 by 2maxwell
Bart Posted February 8, 2012 Do you mean military navy or merchant navy? Anyhow I think the old pirate torso's with the striped shirts, not the modern ones with holes in it. And a normal face not an evil grin makes perfect sailors and deck-hands. Because the lower ranks didn't wear any kind of uniforms. Pirates were usually merchants gone bad or military gone privateering. So clothing should be exchange-able. Bart
Admiral Croissant Posted February 8, 2012 If you sroll down a bit in this post, you'll see a bunch of sailor torsos. I don't think sailors from the 17th century are very different from those of the 18th, so I guess you can choose any torso. Here are a couple of nice ones as well. Storel Posted February 11, 2012 Probably not historically accurate, but for sailors on my IFS, I used the red and white striped with a blue waistcoat torso, and I think it works quite well.
