Sailor Torsos

Recommended Posts

I didn't see this in the indexed pages, so I figured I'd ask. What are some good torsos for sailors from the late 18th and early 19th centuries? I dont mean pirate torsos, but sailors in navies.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean military navy or merchant navy?

Anyhow I think the old pirate torso's with the striped shirts, not the modern ones with holes in it. And a normal face not an evil grin makes perfect sailors and deck-hands. Because the lower ranks didn't wear any kind of uniforms.

Pirates were usually merchants gone bad or military gone privateering. So clothing should be exchange-able.

If you sroll down a bit in this post, you'll see a bunch of sailor torsos.

I don't think sailors from the 17th century are very different from those of the 18th, so I guess you can choose any torso.

Here are a couple of nice ones as well.

Probably not historically accurate, but for sailors on my IFS, I used the red and white striped with a blue waistcoat torso, and I think it works quite well.
