And you all thought there'd be no traditional Castle stuff this year.

It seems that after the similar Classic Space and Classic Pirate sets offered the last couple years, it's now Castle's turn for one of these sets. This definitely looks like a must-have, even if it's tiny.

MUST HAVE!!!!

I loved that era of Castle. I'm currently recreating my old sets into new MOCs.

It is interesting they used a classic Crusader type, but I'm okay with it. Although, it will be interesting having one in light bley instead of light gray. Granted, the Black Falcon update in the minifigure TRU set utilized light bley also instead of light gray, so I guess they are in good company.

My qualm would be, $50 for one of these...it will be hard for me to army build. Oh well. Like others have said, I now get the privilege of spending $50 that I wasn't originally going to spend.

This is awesome! I've been waiting for this. I have the Space and Pirates sets already, and this will complete the set nicely.

I'll be likely to spend $100 to get 2 of them, actually. I guess I'll be buying a lot of Pick-A-Brick cups, since there aren't that many sets that appeal to me right now.

I never had any reason to get a VIP membership, as I don't usually buy directly from LEGO stores, until now.

Thanks for the heads up

Does anyone notice that the Nexo Knights king is included in the chronology strip right under the knight?

From what I can tell the line up seems to show three kings (1st, 3rd, and last). Edited by RAKRONDEWL

Definitely in for this set. When Lego handed out the Space promo in 2014, I told myself if they ever ran a Castle one, I'd have to get it. I kinda wish it was a Black Falcon one, but Crusader is also a good version.

Wishing I hadn't passed on the TRU vintage minifigure sets from a few years ago.

Now that they've covered Space, Pirates, and Castle, I wonder what they'll out out next year.

This looks incredible! And much more authentically retro than last year's Pirates set. Sure, it looks like some newer parts and techniques might be used for the ballista, but it still looks like it would fit in fairly well with other sets of that fig's era.

Welp, looks like I'll be placing big orders at S@H in both June and July. Nice promo! I missed out on the pirates one, but I'm only a middling pirates fan. Space and Castle are good enough.

Cute! I can't help but notice that after the Classic Pirate Set (which used a lot more modern parts, decorations, and building techniques), this one feels really authentic by comparison. Much like the Classic Space Set that started off this series. Perhaps this is LEGO's way of responding to feedback that the Classic Pirate Set didn't feel very classic.

Town, maybe? That's the last of the original "evergreen" themes that they haven't covered. Though maybe they might go for some non-evergreen theme with a long-reaching history, like Adventurers or Western. It's a shame getting an Aquazone pack seems unlikely, because that there was a key part of MY childhood! In those days (to a kid like me, anyway) it seemed every bit as core to the LEGO brand as Castle, Space, Pirates, or Town. My, how times have changed!

I guess it'll probably be a year before we know what LEGO plans to do next. I'm betting on Town, though. Maybe a police officer or firefighter in a car built on the old 4x7 chassis.

It does look nice, and more authentic than the Pirates set.

It seems odd to include the Nexo Knights king in their history lineup, but LEGO seems to consider that to fall under the Castle umbrella despite its very un-Castle concept and aesthetic. It doesn't really take away from the set at all, though.

I really like the idea, but as a collector of the classics, I hope that the torsos have some distinguishing characteristic to set them apart from the originals. Not that several thousand more figures will dilute the millions of vintage figures currently in circulation...it's just the idea of having the new mixed in with the old that bothers me (says someone who fleshies out his classic figures ;) ). At least the shields will be light blay and therefore easily recognizable as new. Why don't they just start a new classic style line anyway?!

I'm not sure what would bother you about that. Is it an issue with quality differences over the years?

(There was a pirate one?)

As soon as I saw this image I GOL'd (gasped out loud). I can't miss this. Add me to the list of people finding $[insert local version of the promo] of Lego to spend...

For once, among those previous releases, this could be something I look forward to and probably cracking my head to search for this upon release.

I like that it's a Classic Castle set. It's all about history. It's a collector's piece.

To be honest, I'd prefer to see LEGO produce the same set as a redesign. The classic Crusader torso is great for nostalgia, but I'd love to see it re-invented. It could have been the logo on a tabard, over chainmail. The shield could have been redone on the new shield mold from the Egyptian / Frightening Knight. I can't tell the color of the weapon, I hope it's a pearl grey.

Basically, while I appreciate the homage and historical value, I want to see an update to the theme.
