Do you actually have the 500+ mini-figures to put in it, or is that just how big the ship will be built to accomodate?

*y* Your Soleil Royal looks great, and HUGE! Your a very clever builder, the gunports and mast use a very innovative snot technique. I wish you luck on this great endeavor and it looks like your photography skills have improved too!
P.S. there's another thread about a Soleil Royal, see it here.

Anyway, as for the MOC... How big will it be when completed? What will the measurements be?

pictures.....
what size do i need to scale them down to
measurements are
somewhere between 200-250 studs long
52 studs across
masts are still being determined
but
im to use a sphere idea coined by bruce lowell
(heres his BS account)
http://www.brickshel...ery.cgi?f=44794
this is a studs on all sides sphere
it will 10 studs across
and maybe if i can do math at all, about
125 bricks high
but those measurement are subject to change with the design
bricklink.com has been a great place to find parts

800 x 600 is an ideal size.
I'm not sure how good you are with the software but if you've got Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks, etc. you can do what's called a "batch resize" so you can resize all your images at once which is a lot faster than doing them individually.
If you don't have any programs capable of doing a batch resize just wait a week and I'll have written a tutorial for doing a batch resize in a freeware program called Irfanview.
But for now just resize one or two pictures so we can post them in the thread.

Will you put it on display somewhere or are you just building it for fun?
Do you still have the other ships that are in your brickshelf folder or are you reusing the parts?

thanks
i hope i will be able to put it on display at
Legoland California
when im all done
i have all the stuff in my pirates folder on BS
on display at legoland california
and as for using parts from me other ships
that us just not right
all are still intact
i just buy more lego
the only part that gets moved is my captain
he gets moved from ship to ship
i think that he is an admiral at this point
starting with isabelle the smallest of the fleet
moving him on to erreka the medium boat
and now the great Man o War (ive not settled on a name yet) the largest and grandest
has to be the admirals ship
cant get pictures to be resized my computer at home
it wont let me, so ill try tomorrow at work
but check out me progress at
http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=209149
enjoy

Do you have some 'special connections' in Legoland California to get your ships displayed or do you just knock at the door and say: "Hey, I build a new ship, can I put it on display in your park please"?
It must be really weard, to build a ship and not have it with you afterwards in your house.
Well, I guess it is a great honor to have your MOC on display in Legoland.

i guess you could say i do have "special connections" ;-)
i have many friends who work there in the legoland model shop
i can also come and go as i please there.....
but the case that i have at legoland was just a bonus, the shop's boss allowed me to have
their Pick-A-Brick is pretty good
i have cleaned them out of most of their old brown to build me ships *sweet*
(the discount is a great thing to have)
speaking of PAB
i just got some more yellow and black windows
for the stern of me boat
anybody got any name ideas ye can suggest?
im leaning toward
something spanish-ishy?
also how can i get more uploading space so i can post more picts?
the last one used almost all me space
ha ha ha

All the Spanish sailing ship names you'll ever need
That should give you a good selection. :-P
