Bulk and his package! Picked Breez, Rocka, and him up when I went to the local LEGO store today. I still don't see how a drill with a wimpy flick-fire missile will do you any good against bugs that want to eat your brains, or even how they have brains, but whatever..

So now, onto the parts!

At a total of 50 parts, he beats Breez by 1 and Rocka by 7. So if you're looking for the one with the best value, Bulk is your best choice.

His four trans-orange/red-ish armor pieces are probably my favorite part of the set, along with his visor and mask. His part selection is by far the best of the three, due to a few facts; He includes more trans elements, more pieces, and such.

EDIT: Per request, here's his head! It's quite nice. He looks a little mad though.. :P

[And the stuff in the back is my brother's, not mine.]

The build itself wasn't that bad. As you can see, not a very complex model either.

My only complaint on it would be the fact that there aren't many new parts.

Let's go on to the ratings..

Playability: 7/10

Value: 8/10

Last Look:

In the end, it was a great purchase. The piece selection is quite great, and the model really seems to flow. I love the new head design and Bulk's mask. Not at all a fan of his shield holder though.

Not the best review of him, but it's my first review.

With the shield on his back he looks a bit better than usual.

Do you have a close up photo of his helmet? (without the visor. Would like to see it up close in detail)

Well. His selection of parts look nice, and I can see myself using his helmet for a Drilldozer MOC or something similar. Anyway, he seems like a great parts pack.

Not a phenomenal review, but you did a good job for a first attempt at reviewing, and I definitely appreciate that you went to the effort to showcase a set nobody has reviewed yet.

I agree that the Transparent Fluorescent Reddish Orange and the Bright Orange don't work together as well as they should. Transparent Bright Orange would have been better, but would have required more parts in new colors, which might have been more than could be budgeted for this set.

Overall, I like how Bulk's design pays homage to his character-- a drill is a weapon that really suits him, though I feel it should have been made a bit more solid-looking rather than just a giant drill head on a flimsy handle. His helmet design is nice and his colors, while not totally cohesive, at least echo his past color schemes. However, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement and I can't help feeling he's the least impressive of the early 2013 hero sets.

I just ordered Bulk with Furno and Breez on Lego Shop. Going to get them around Monday if not earlier.

I liked the review. Don't know if he will be my favorite but he has great parts for mocing.

Bulk's not the best of the lot, but he was done pretty well. Flick-fire missile is unnecessary, but the drill is pretty cool. Helmet looks similar to the original and has character, plus the visor is a great part. Hands are a bit annoying in their being orange, but the colors are balanced in this set.

More and more I find myself liking this Bulk, and the review definitely helped. Wish I could see a close- up of his helmet, though.

Another thought just came to mind. Now that the new helmet is available, I wonder how many people will be attempting 'Brain Attack' Threshers? Unlikely I think, due to where Thresher is in the story, but not impossible.

 Yuck! that head looks utterly terrible, and the transparent parts don't go with the orange. Most of this wave look terrible, so I'll be passing. Which is a good thing, because 2013 is a good year for Technic fans, oh yes...

On the contrary. Most of the sets are great for what I have seen in reviews. Though they could have been better, they are still good sets to get and use for mocs.

Per requested, here's a pic without the visor. Note the stuff in the back are NOT mine, just saying..

Also added the photo to the main topic :)

Thanks! I know, it's just my first attempt. Sorry for all who were looking for a better review!

Wow, he looks even better without the visor than I expected. It helps that his nose has some texture rather than being totally flat as the many front-view official images suggested. Overall, I imagine his new helmet was one of the more difficult ones to design for this wave, and with that in mind I think the designers did admirably at capturing his personality and the look of his previous helmet the best they could.

Cheers for the review. :) I am a very big fan of Bulk's face, but the figure feels somewhat lacking. I think it is the small shoulders that feels off, and the weapon is pitiful. Still, worth a purchase I think.

Thanks for the review!

Still torn whether he's worth keeping or not (or even buying). He's not bad past the boring weapons, and he could look vastly better

, but even then Breakout Bulk outclasses him to the point it's kind of depressing.

I can say, though- I really like the head on its own, without the visor. I can't help but think it would look better on Bruizer than on Bulk himself...

More and more, Bulk in his new form has grown on me. The helmet looks great. It's enough like Bulk to be recognizable, but the new details on the face mix things up a little. I really like it.

I think all that needs to be done to the set is to add a second silver shoulder pad, and to bulk up the drill.. And that would be satisfactory for me :)

I think the shield is what Kopaka Nuva got unless it is a bigger versions of that.

It's a new, bigger shield piece. It is the same one that came with the Captain America Ultrabuild.
