AoM: Barracks phase 1: Training in the snow

The boy shivered. Not only because of the cold, but also because of the ram, his father was holding. For years, the first test of a youthful warrior had been facing a trained ram with just a wooden stick and a shield. Those who won, would recieve warrior training. Those who needed the help from their father however... The mines. He did not want to think about that.

What do you think of the snotted snow part, particulary the 1x1 clips that should resemble some sort of grass?

I found quite a big lot of them, and thought this was a good way to put them to use, but im not sure I like it.

Also I gave photography another shot (pun intended ;) ) , it still didnt work however, but at least I made 2 perspective pictures this time, and the overview picture aint thát bad :P

Inspiration for this build was seeing the goat and the boy laying next to each other on the floor. That in combination with wanting to do a snow build :D

About the clip technique: I immediately knew what you were going for! Maybe it looks a little nicer if used on a more open field, less densely packed?

Anyway, I like your efforts on the making the snow more interesting and unconventional. The tree is great and it's also good to see a MOC border. Keep on building, dathil! :classic::thumbup:

My response to the clip snow is basically the same as Exetrius: it was pretty apparent to me that it was frozen grass, but it might look even better more spread out.

Good tree and a nice story too :classic:

Clever idea with the clips for grass! As SK and Exetrius said, it might look a little better spread out more, but it still looks nice here

Great job with the tree and rockwork too :classic:

I think your clip work is unique, but I'm not sure if it's something I'd try myself. It doesn't look bad, it just seems to be missing something. Maybe following Ex and SK's advice would help. I do want to say that your 1x2 trans plates for melting snow/ice looks incredible!

Looks great! Tough I'm not totally convinced about the grass (maybe spread out more, as suggested?), I love that tree!

I echo what others have suggested, by spacing out the clips, you give the ground a bit more realism for what your trying to achieve. Also by adding white studs/tiles to the tree, you again add another touch of realism to a great scene.

I will also said, like the other already did, the frozen glass is cleverly done and the clips are doing well the job, but perhaps spacing the clips would be better.

Nice tree, I like its design, but, perhaps a bit more snow on it could have been nice too.

All in all a good build. Good job !

Great technique with the clips! It would probably work really well in other colors for alien planets over in AG too

It works, even if I'm unsure about grass being covered with snow this way. Green maybs would have been more realistic, some lonely plants lurking out of the snow. But I like the tree a lot.
