Ice Breaker

Recommended Posts

Just digging about on my PC (trying to find a pic for my avatar) and came across pics of this old beastie. Built before I refurbished (cleaned!) my older bricks hence the grubiness of some of it but still quite a striking model nonetheless. Plenty of minifigs on deck to give an idea of scale and I've included interior shots too.

An oldie but a goodie!

Note the baseplate from Police Station 6384 as part of the deck. Plus the back end does open to reveal a car deck but I never photographed it! :sceptic:

Okay, this beast is massive! Very impressive.

However, I must confess that it´s just a little too blocky for my taste.

No kidding? :oh:

What I mean is it´s pretty basic. There´s some room for improvement there. Good base structure, but needs to be refined, IMO.

I know exactly what you mean of course DJ. I did build and rebuild and rebuild again several times during construction trying to get the look right. The scale of it makes this very difficult because each small change = massive number of bricks!! If only I had LDD when I did it...

This is the kinda thing that I had in mind when shaping the front:

The back was going to have some shape but I then decided to have a car ferry sytle rear door and it just ended up flat on the back.

Cheers
