Help operating LDraw

Recommended Posts

That's an awfully broad question there. To answer in a similarly broad way: install LDRAW and open the program. Pick a piece you want to build with and drag it into the building area. Repeat for additional pieces.

Probably the best place to start is with one of the many tutorials that are out there. If you're having challenges with installation, I'd suggest starting here:

http://www.ldraw.org/help/getting-started.html

Once you've got it installed, check out this tutorial that starts from the very basics and takes you through building a very small model to demonstrate the tools and techniques to get you going:

Happy (virtual) building! :classic:

It sounds like you need help browsing for the LDraw parts, there should be a folder in your C drive named "Ldraw", use the file browser in the message box to browse to it.

If you used the All-In-One-Installer from the LDRAW Download site, you should have a directory with parts (usually like C:\LDRAW\PARTS) and a number of additional editors, tools etc. Those should also be in the C:\LDRAW folder.

One of the editors included is MLCAD, just look for MLCAD.exe on your system.

Many of these programs will still ask you for the "LDRAW path" when they start, just set it to the location of your LDRAW directory, e.g. "C:\LDRAW"
