Hello everyone,

It's great to be back to review something interesting and for this special treat, I ought to thank our Eurobricks Special Themes Moderator, Rufus and Eurobricks Friends Regulator, Pandora for being such so awesome to send this tiny little polybag as a gift. Thank you both.

Being a strong supporter and avid collector of the recent LEGO Marvel Superheroes sets, which is released for the Avengers film. I had to say that I do enjoy every aspect of the different comic characters being shown in our favourite LEGO minifigures' designs. Without further ado, let me share my review of this little polybag which is part of the Avengers line-up.

The legendary Marvel sharpshooter

7394702008_86aff4fc16_o.jpg

This incredible legendary Marvel comic character, is famous for its sharpshooting skills and is extremely good with his customised powerful bow to deal deadly shots. This polybag was not commonly available through those large-scale promotions in certain countries. I am really glad that I had the chance to own this uncommon polybag which is now part of my collection.

There are currently only a couple of polybags available in the Superheroes theme and putting the sister polybag of the Avengers series, is the other 30163 Thor and the Cosmic cube. I will think by buying these polybags is actually one of the affordable way to acquire those superheroes without buying those LEGO sets. However, I will think that I need to get them is part of completing the entire theme.

The LEGO building content

7394705244_6b21d1d5b5_o.jpg

These are the laid out content of building up this lovely little display set. After finishing the built, these are the remaining spare parts. There is not much building to be done for the equipment rack but there are a couple of useful parts like the handcuffs, 1x1 circular orange light, binoculars, communication device and even those dark grey bricks are useful for your parts bins.

Marvel Superheroes Character: Hawkeye

7394704308_ba40cfc5a7_o.jpg

Clint Barton, going by the codename of Hawkeye and commonly known to others and famous for his weapons specialisation through his bow and arrow. His black sleek outfit is nicely designed and could even used for those military operatives attire. If you noticed, Hawkeye left hand is wearing a black glove which he used it as a form of wrist support whenever he pulled the string back. Hawkeye is only made available in the other 6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape and the 6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout.

Back-printing of Hawkeye

7394703940_1357960023_o.jpg

I just got to love Hawkeye's backprinting. It is totally amazing with the details of the arrows quiver at the back. His customised arrows contain various nasty surprises like the acid arrow, blunt arrow, cable arrow, electrical arrow, net arrow, smoke arrow, USB arrow, etc. All customised for various execution purposes. Did I also mention that his aggressive dual head expression is so cool? It is really encouraging to see so much fine details in this character. :sweet:

Don't mess with him when he is serious

Hawkeye's bow

7394703424_7da3ee5e96_o.jpg

Hawkeye's bow is not your regular bow which is used for typical medieval bows which can be found in LEGO Castle sets. In this case, this is a very special design which is designed for this character. This bow allow Hawkeye to retract and release the bow through placing his arms at the holder by pushing the force front and back to form the shape of the bow. Pretty cool, even though I don't really know the detailed mechanism since I could only recall it from the movie.

Evolution of bow & arrow

7394703228_6bb7d9de0b_o.jpg

This is just a fine example of how the evolution of bow and arrow had developed over the course of time. We had seen the commonly used wooden bow, followed by the new wooden long bow for the elves and now in modern age, we see this new bow technology for superheroes.

Mounted wall filled with equipment

7394702584_58b3ca2e78_o.jpg

This is a pretty simple looking rack that is used to mount Hawkeye's equipment. I am quite sure this is part of a bigger building structure but since this is meant to be sold as part of a polybag, a mini section of the building is actually used to market this polybag together.

These are the essential kits that I carry when I go for my mission

To conclude, this is a very nifty nice looking polybag which I had enjoyed it very much in terms of introducing one to the Superheroes universe. Although Hawkeye is not a major popular comic characters unlike others, but this character alone can be used out of the superheroes context and can be also used for other military purposes. In some sense, I find this minifigure 'generic' enough for me to customise it. Not only that, the entire built come with decent set of accessories including the communication device, handcuffs, binoculars and the fire extinguisher. All in all, I am enjoying this and it definitely worth buying more to amass more of Hawkeye minifigures, if possible.

Summary review

Playability: 6/10 (Not much to play on its own and it can only be played with other bigger superheroes set together.)

Design: 9/10 (Good simple design with pretty good building assortment and parts.)

Price: 7/10 (Not sure of the price but I sure I hope it is reasonable.)

Overall: 7.3/10 (Get this polybag if you are able to find it at an affordable price.)

I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours?

I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed.

Thank you so much for making a superb Lego Superheroes review for the 4th anniversary of Eurobricks. I think that this is a small but excellent set because of a great minifigure and a nice collection of accesories.

Very nice review Fangy! Like Luxor I love the comparison pic of the different bow & arrows. (and I think the technical term for Hawkeye's specialized bow is the recurve bow).

I also do find the torso print detailing of Hawkeye as one of the best, if not the best, among the Avengers minifigs. Couple this with his cool-looking bow and the fact that archers are bada$ (Legolas, Robin Hood, Katniss Everdeen ), Hawkeye stands out even if he's one of the cheaper Avenger figs around.

Great review! I don't know why, but this has to be one of my favorite polybags of all time. Maybe it's just because I'm a huge Hawkeye fan, I don't know. It does give some great parts, like the bow, which is a really useful piece.

Great review, but my big question is why didn't TLG use that bow for the Olympic Team GB Archer Minifig instead of the traditional one?

Thank you Kiel for the info! :sweet:

Great review, but my big question is why didn't TLG use that bow for the Olympic Team GB Archer Minifig instead of the traditional one?

Unfortunately, I am not sure about it too maybe it is costing per element or some licensed issue thingy. It will be great if it can coupled with that recurve bow instead.
