Hello Guys :)

Being working on a MAN GTS 6x6 Truck.

post-164577-0-18053900-1471979213_thumb.jpg

Here´s the LDD

Im having a few Problems with the last axle tho. It is powered through the 2nd axle. I think it will be very weak.

Do you guys have some Solutions how the last axle can be as powerful as the 2nd? Without doing big Upgrades on that what i have done till now?

Hi, i have just seen your model, and it is very well designed, about the axles issue, the main problem to connect the 3rd axle directly to the 2nd axle drive train is the power loss, it is highly recommended to have a drive train that powers the 2 axles at the same time, i also have an idea to use a similar system to tatra´s drive train (not the swing arm suspension, i will only use the gears placement), and i think it might work well, i will post some pictures soon.

I have made some mods on the drive train, this is my advance so far:

800x477.jpg

With this design it is supposed that the drive train force is transmitted equally in the axles, and if the reduction isn't enough, there seems to be many free space in the sides of the axles for some gear reduction, i am also wondering which wheels and tires are you going to use.

Ok, that is enough information to start more mods, another question, how many of these turntables you have?:

I see potential with your design, but I would like to say some things. Firstly, I don't think you need all of these gear reduction stages. I've built a design with a single XL motor, and unless your model is really heavy, you probably won't need more than 1:5 reduction. You certainly would not need more than that with four. The extra gear stages eat up your speed, and kill your efficiency too. Generally, you want the fewest number of gears you can get away with.

Second, I test fitted Unimog tires on your chassis, and they barely fit. You might want to move the rear axles a bit farther apart, and the front one forward, otherwise you could have tires rubbing on the frame during turning.

Finally, if you can, I'd recommend turning the servo motor on its side, to get better axle clearance. It works exactly the same way, just gives you more room to work.

More than enough ! :) I would say about 6-8?

Thanks for your tipps! Ill be buisy today afternoon :)

in my newest ldd (which i will post soon) i already solved the issue of the tires

Here is a free blueprint i found online:https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/trucks/man/11126/view/man_tga_6x6_chassis/

isnt exactly the man gts but the scales seem to be almost the same

You can use those turntables to make planetary rims for the tires, they are placed instead of the wheels and are very efficient for large trucks like this, here is an example:

Efferman used them in large models, like this M.A.N truck:

Okay. Ill will see what i can i do with that thank you :)

I think You should use the ordinary Unimog rims and hubs, I think the truck will become very large, heavy and slow if you'll have to match the scale from Efferman's planetary hubs.

Actually,. A planetery wheel/hub is about the size of a unimog wheel and should work fine with ditto tires. But its very parts heavy.

I think u are right. I am still using the Unimog wheel hubs. Works fine. Has got a lot of power ;)

Then you should like this (link to my brickshelf) aswell :)

The biggest part is done. Still Thinking about the body tho. I already covered the Batt-Boxes with some grey parts. They look like fueltanks now.

It is not public yet, will check it when it is.

Check out my rebuild version from the Actros that I build and made little changes on.

The original is from Sandman.

Wow! What a crazy peace of art! A masterpiece! I reealy like the cabin.

Most praises go to Sandman, he made the original and the instructions.

I only made some small changes.

Made the trailer myself, but it is al lot like the chassis of the truck.

The instructions had a lot of flaws and where incomplete, so building it was a kind of a challenge for me, I ain't an expert builder, more a collector.

Routing 12 meters of pneumatic hoses throughout the whole model was a big challenge and took me quite some time.

So I need some instructions to recreate MOC's others have made.

Planning on building a Daf truck with a cable system some day, one to pick up containers.

I´m interested in your Daf Truck. I´ll see what i can do to see it when it´s done :)

And im still not sure about the back. At first i wanted to build a Tipper or a Kind of Camper like this: https://www.google.a...QOwV66lMbheTXM:

But im worried about the pieces :). My lego stock is already "exhausted" :)

So far it is really impressive, I've to admit that! What do you mean with "ideas for the back"...? There are a trilion options...:tongue: Can you be more specific?

... Just be creative :) ...

This is the other way around... ...you start building something and now I have to be creative... :sceptic::blush::laugh:  Okay, I will try to help you...

Most 6x6 trucks are used for heavy applications, because they are more off-road - ish then other trucks.

- I don't like campers that much, but 6x6 trucks are used for that for sure!

- A dump truck would work as well, you can give it a large tipper!

- You can install a crane at the back

- What also would be very cool is a hook lift system!

Does this help? :sweet:
