  1. thanks I have seen those, however the point is even with the smart cat door, the door it self still requires a manual push by the cat once unlocked, this is something our cat simply won't do. Which is why our cat door is propped open during the day. We do not have house mates, but with the remote control, I wasn't meaning it to be fully automated just yet.. what I want initially is, the Lego robot/camera to detect motion and notify me, and I will login via phone and remotely control the robot through the camera feed to check if it is indeed the intruder Cat, and if so chase it with robot and spray it with the water pistol.
  2. Hi, I am looking to get the Mindstorms Robotic Invention kit, to build a Robot with the following capabilities.. -Able to be remotely controlled outside of home -Have a camera with motion detection -Able to fire a water pistol can someone advise if this is possible and has anything similar been created? I understand I may need some third party parts. The reason for it is absurd but valid. Our cat door is always open during the daytime as our now elderly cat cannot and will not learn to push it open, has been like this since she was a kitten. Recently a neighbourhood cat is taking advantage of this open cat door and coming in to eat our cats food and disappears. So I need a way to scare it off, if it is does enter our house, when we are at work etc, and as such decided maybe a robot with motion sending camera, and water pistol will be ideal. I would remote in and control it, and fire the water at the intruder cat. cheers :D
  3. Is there a way to get a parts list for building extra passenger carriages for the Hogwarts express? In the past I used to use LDD import the offical set and remove all extras and export parts. I can't run LDD anymore on my Mac, I tried doing it with stud.io, but that imported with error stating failed to import about 20 parts, and they are aren't assembled so don't know what to remove.

The future of Back to the Future

Is the picture/vid of the rumoured new larger Delorean in this video a mockup or a picture of the actual set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldlYcptNNj4
  6. Which light & sound kit are you using? Will motorisation work with the gameofbricks light sound kit?
  7. Yes those are for the larger Tank treads.. but I'm looking for something for these treads 3873 Lego link treads.
  8. Resurrecting an old thread, but I see there's a few solutions (plenty of the rubber parts on Aliexpress) for the larger 57518 Lego technic tread with the 2 pinholes. But is there a similar solution for the smaller, 3873 Lego Technic link tread? Couldn't find anything for these.
  9. I obtained these separately, Wheel 30mm D. x 13mm (13 x 24 Model Team), with Black Tire 13 x 24 Model Team (2695 / 2696) But is the Tire warped? it works itself off any axel I put it on. Surely not meant to be like that? If I roll the wheel it rolls on a circular angle. All 4 are like this. I guess I'll replace them.

    Emerald Night binding issue

Thanks I'll try that alternative fix out.
  11. Hi recently I’ve noticed my Emerald Night motor/gear will bind if used in reverse at any moderate speed. I’m sure the wheels are put together correctly ie 3 and 12 o’clock positions, I’ve readjusted a few time’s. The first (bottom) picture shows the wheel placement. The second (top) picture shows how it binds, the wheel piston gets stuck on an angle as shown. Is there any way to fix this? Doesn’t appear to be a problem going forwards.
  12. Would it be possible to build a winch with a power up M motor and connect it to the unused D port on the hub?
  13. Few observations: Works well, however I think it needs some more torque. Going over reasonable obstacles with 2 wheels is easy enough, i.e. right side or left side. However both front or rear wheels, it will struggle and then motor cut out kicks in. The most annoying thing is with the app, I keep inadvertently activating one touch mode since its just a swipe left. If you aren’t watching your finger placement on the steering, it can happen easily. Wish I could turn it off in settings. When you do use one touch mode, it takes a while to get the hang of it, however initially I was confused how it worked due to their description "Drag a path with your finger in the One-touch screen and watch your model follow it with razor-sharp precision" I thought you could draw a path and lift you finger off for it to follow the path, not quite, you drag your finger on the screen and it will follow the path as long as you don't run out of screen realestate or lift your finger off the screen. The second most annoying thing is with the app, once in one touch mode, its just as easy to inadvertently switch back to on screen controls mode with a right swipe.
  14. Ok build complete. And its past midnight the app has shown up in the NZ store. But its time to zzzz work tomorrow :|
  15. What store are you seeing the app in? I can't find it in NZ App Store.
