Captain Green Hair

She sails!

Recommended Posts

I like the sails and ridging. Must have been some work to make this.

And also the back of the ship looks beautiful. All that yellow makes this look very authentic.

I think I also notice a tumblehome effect, but that's hard to see on this picture.

Like Mr. Phes stated, the gallery is not yet public, but judging from the attached picture this is a beauty.

Added this ship to the Index of MOC Ships.

I like the figurehead X-D :

figurehead.jpg_thumb.jpg

It looks familiar for some reason :-D

Is there a certain way you "knotted" the rigging together?

I'd be very interested to know exactly how you made the rigging so nice pir_wubnew.gif

Great work!

Just make the ropes tight, almost like a piano string, without pulling the bricks apart.

Then you can just weave in the ratlines, with only a single knot on each side.

What a great ship this is Captain.

That stair on the outside is very creative. I don't think I've seen that before. I surely looks good.

And this ship so stuffed with little details that make this so special.

Also the colors you've chosen are perfect.

No negative remarks on this one from me.

One thing on the pictures.

There is a little bit too much light coming from behind.

I would suggest to take the pictures outside. Same for the fortress.

Also it would be better to resize the pics to 800x600. Now they are 1600x1200 which takes a long time to load on my screen. We have a good batch resize tutorial (check the index on top of the MOC forum).

Just some suggestions ;-)

What a great work, very appealing in size and proportion, with a fantastic color

scheme and an excellent rigging! *sweet*

I like especially that fine stern and neat details like that bell. Marvelous! *y*

It's a headlight from the large blue hotrod, sort of a dish without a stud.

You could also use a chrome 2x2 dish, looks almost as good.

The top is a custom part and i hung the top part of a lever in there to ring it.

Excellent work on this ship.

Good sails, and excellent rigging. I think I recognize a few of the techniques, but I see you added some new ones O have never seen before! Very nicely done! Top ten ship for sure!

Now if you could only learn how to get those pesky images in the posts, we wouldn't have to wait for the brickshelf folders to be public!!

That is truly beautiful work.*wub* One day I hope to make a ship that good. That rigging is stunnning and has some smart piece usage. While the bird_view picture was loading it looked like a professionally made non-Lego model. I look forward to seeing more from you!

I have now viewed the Brickshelf gallery!

There's some quite magnificent attention to detail here... The figurehead... The stern... The rigging especially...

Only downside is there's not many good pictures of the entire ship. If we had something like the below picture taken from the bow we could frontpage this on Classic-Pirates.com.

Beats the crap out of my ships..

Oh Captain Green Hair, have I already mentioned how much I love your creations?? *wub*

Really great work, with brilliant details, like the bell, and the very very beautiful stern. Amazing rigging and very realistic! Those sails are really the best I've ever seen.

I hope I ever get as good as you are!

I hate to pick on this MOC, but minor nitpick: I think you have quite a small capstan :-D

You can also see the custom guns in this pic, wich are great! But.... wouldn't they need wheels?

But how am I to complain to such a great MOC from this magnificent builder!!!

You're an artist! *y*

Mr Phes, I agree this ship should be frontpaged, and I think the pic from the back is very suitable, because it shows the marvelous stern.

Thanks a lot mate!

A bigger capstan would fill the deck too much, there's simply no space...

Ships can have smal guns that are fixed, used for close range fire, but it might be possible to change this, HMMMZ...
