Decastio Island

Recommended Posts

hi there. I've made a sort of map of an island which im going to settle. i dont know if all ever is going to be buildt but at least i now have made a map that show the main things on it- i also have made som markings on it to show MLCAD's and pics of my mocs or models.

oversiktskart.jpg_thumb.jpg Its not much there yet but im building houses and other things with MLCAD and with lego(when i get enough lego for that)

Made some houses for my town. some of them is here on brickshelf

This is cool. "Cute" houses, very "old style". I like that.

That fireplace is ingenious, yet so simple.

I'm not a Pirates specialist but I really like them *wub*

Man, that smiley looks gay...

Finally, someone is addressing the lack of colonial prescence within the Pirate theme.

I always thought a "Colonist" sub-theme would be a great idea from the Pirate theme as it would take away the military edge. And if you wanted further depth I'd have a colonial sub-theme for each of the major nations (I.e. Britian, France, Span and Holland) and the architecture of these sub-themes would reflect that of those nations.

I think Sid Meier's Pirates provide some very inspirational concepts of how you could distinctify a particular sub-theme with architecture pretaining to that nation.

But anyway, that's getting of topic. Tell us more of your world Mr Tordenskjold?

I couldn't agree more! I hope you won't mind if I borrow the concept for a MOC I'm working on X-D And the old doors and windows really lend to the style of the era, I can't wait to see more of this large undertaking.

Man, that smiley looks gay...

hehe, agreed again :-P Though I'm particularly fond of this one: X-D I think it's my favorite of the lot

I like how you create an island to give your MOCs a place in the world.

It looks like there is still some room on that island for some great MOCs.

You have pretty good MLCAD skills. I fully agree with what Hobbes and Starwars4J said about the fireplace. This design is also very useful for a present-day house.

PS: I'm happy you didn't stay away for too long Mr. Tordenskjold ;-)

Is this what attracted you to that smiley Mister Hobbes?

Lets have a look at this infamous fire place...

You've created a very cozy yet function space within this MOC Mr Tordenskjold. but where do the occupants sleep? X-D

Hi everybody.

if someone want to use parts of or whole moc's frommy island they are welcome :-D just let me know so i can see what you have used them for(maybe ill get new ideas ) There is a good reason for why there is nobeds there. that is a very small and simple tavern. and we all know how little barowners like to have customers sleeping in the bar :-D

And for the island. ive made the island so i could have a sort of idea of what to build and why i build it.

like, why build a fort if there is nothing to guard/defend and why build a city if there is no proper harbour.

Im not that good in English but im working on a sort of background story for the island. to place it in time and area. last i did is making a sort of town hall/ Governors house. and a bakery

More pics will come

Is this the bakery? I notice the the file name is "bakeri" so that's what made me think it was bakery.

Anyway...

These doors and window frames look very modern, so wouldn't you be better off using brown wooden doors, lattice and shutters to give the buildings a more "hstoric appearance? Right now, this building looks like it could easily be from the Town theme, it needs "colonialisation" to give it the right character!

Try pieces like these...

I thought "bakeri" might be Nowegian for "bakery" since its not really that much of a stretch from the English spelling.

So the lattice windows aren't available in MLCAD? Apparently Mr RTN LNA knows where there are libraries of pieces for MLCAD but for some reason he doesn't want to reveal the source. Maybe if you PMed him and asked him nicely he may be less secretive.

I like your new version a lot better because it looks more historic than the previous version. Also I think the big fire place/chimney at the back is a nice addition because they would have to do baking somewhere.

Will mini-figures be added to this?

I'm pretty sure they come in red, but they are very rare. Also, I dont think that crates come in green.

This looks great! I love the bakery, you could start a sort of RPG town thing like Sim city or something. I can't wait to see the buildings in lego.

I do not think the latticed windows you used come in red! you might have to use white or yellow ones :(!

Since the colour scheme already consists of yellow and white I think light grey lattice would make for a nice contrast.

They come in Yellow, White, brown, reddish brown, pink, green and blue. If they came in Red, that would be awesome as several us have red and black ships that are using brown windows! I think me, bone, and legopirate would all appreciate them in red!
