Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

Recommended Posts

Now that Season 3 is officially over, and a preview for Season 4 has come up, I guess it's time to start a new thread for discussions.

Looks like the series will visit Mon Calamari. :sweet:

A second look at the Battle of Mon Calamari:

Kit Fisto finally in action once again. So I guess this really means they're going to redo the Battle of Mon Cal from '03 the cartoon series.

A new double-dual-lightsaber wielding Besalisk jedi. Why do I have this feeling that he will be another Nahdar Vebb/Ord Eniscence/Bolla Ropal/Ima Gundi in the making?

New Z-95-like starfighter. This one will make for a good mid-sized set IMO.

Man, that must be one hell of a nerf for Grievous. I really hope that at least isn't Jar-Jar.

It looks like we're into Phase II armor. I'm not too sold on how it looks, though... take a look at Rex hiding behind the box. Weird. His elbow pads now fail to cover his elbows and his thigh armor now fails to cover his thigh. Huh. Although it's too hard to tell even in the starwars.com version. They really need to start uploading higher-quality videos.

I don't think the Gungan is Jar-Jar, since he's wearing a mask and has mad combat skills to even damage Grievous.

Well as long as it doesn't interfere with the '03 arc, I'll go for this. :classic:

New ship design

Another one? :sceptic: This had better be a Mon Cal ship and not another Republic-ultra-something-or-other.

Grievous vs. Gungan

That Gungan better be some kind of Force-sensitive, otherwise I'd be mad when...

..and the Gungan wins?

I am  or maybe :hmpf_bad: or maybe even :hmpf: .

Phase 2 clones?

Good stuff. :sweet: Hopefully they'll finally bring in the Eta-2s and get rid of the Delta-7Bs.

EDIT: Is that Jar-jar fighting Greivous?

Video Updated on StarWars.com! It's much clearer.

No, it's an Gungan officer. It appears to be the one from TPM, but that may just be in because of his outfit or design. But yes, a circle of Gungans watching a Gungan fight Greivous.

The Mon Calamari battle looks cool. Clones diving out of gunships, Ahsoka underwater, etc.

Looks like the official introduction of the phase 2 clones (no longer just for ARC troopers) is coming in season 4. All of the clones behind Plo are phase 2 and the pilot in the ship that gets blown up by the new (weird shaped) ship is also new. Padme's got a new outfit which is similar (it appears) to the one she wore in PTM during the assault on Theed Palace. She also gets a similar hairstyle.

We see the return on Jessie from "the Deserter" as part of Rex's squad (Rex appears to have an ARC trooper pauldron) along with Fives. What's with the yellow MagnaGaurd staves? Aren't they, and haven't they always been, purple? Am I missing something? Or am I just forgetting something obvious...

This looks to be a promising season!

Here is a list of what i've gathered from this trailer in another spoiler

-Plo Koon will have a mission with Phase 2 Wolfpack

- Dooku captures Anakin and tortures him mercillesly possibly to lure Padme into a trap.

-Clone Trooper Jesse will appear but for some reason he is Captain Rex's armor but he is distinguishable by his head tatoo.

- Captain Tarpals will fight Grievous on Naboo

- Some hunters/smugglers will capture C-3PO and R2-D2

-Aqua Droids will assist the Quarren in their attack on Mon Calamari

- Admiral Ackbar will be part of the Mon Calamari defence.

-Anakin will fight Dooku again

-There will be a space battle featuring Phase 2 Pilots

- Fives will appear in a mission with Rex and possibly die...

Actually that was Clone Trooper Jesse from "The Deserter" in Season 2. You can tell because he has that tatoo mark on his face. Though I see why you got confused why the heck is Jesse in Rex's armor? *oh2*

Good stuff. :sweet: Hopefully they'll finally bring in the Eta-2s and get rid of the Delta-7Bs.

Hope so, it's about time they ditch the triangles and finally bring in the Eta-2s if it's indeed going to be Phase 2 already.

and the pilot in the ship that gets blown up by the new (weird shaped) ship is also new.

Judging from this pic, it looks like this pilot is a variant of the clone shown in Cat and Mouse (Season 2).

And also like the ones from 'Citadel Rescue':

arc170pilot.jpg

Season four looks pretty good, but if a gungan can damage Grievous so badly, he's really losing his menacing effect, which isn't good. He was much better in the old CW series. I hope they don't use all the Dac sequence from the old series and imitate it. I think it's fine if they remade it, but using all the same things in and event that happens a year later won't look much good, like Obi-Wan fighting Grievous in ARC troopers.

I much prefer the Phase 1 armour and all that goes with it, but I guess it's time for a change. I just hope this doesn't mean the show's nearing it's end.

Wow. What a letdown. Looks like they're copying the Battle of Mon Calamari from SW:CW now too. And Grievous getting beaten by a Gungan?! Ugh. :hmpf:

While there's nothing wrong with the Phase Ones, it's nice that we're getting into the phase 2s now, although there does seem to be something off about their design.

This along with the "promise" of more Mortis episodes makes me not look forward to this season one bit. It's a shame really. :sadnew:

Hmm, the trailer looks great, hopefully the episodes won't disappoint us either.

I heard a clone trooper saying, "...this war is gonna end.".

Could that mean that this is going to be the last season of The Clone Wars?

Also, I managed to find a better video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-09URHNBFg&hd=1

It looks good so far, but I hope Grievous won't be beaten by that Gungan - Tarpals?

Hm, hopefully he'll gain atleast a bit more strength in this season, as he's been more of a weakling in the last few seasons.

I don't see what so wrong about a Gungun fighting Gerivous. Jar Jar is dimwitted and clumsy, not the whole race.

Season 4 is looking good so far. I really hope the Mon Calamari fight will be as good as the original Clone Wars show. And am I the only one who saw Christophsis?

whats the name of that gungan from blue shadow virus? oh yeah Peppi Bow, she was pretty stupid to me. Personally, I kinda was hoping that the blue shadow virus got out and killed all the Gungans, but they managed to quarantine it by the time it hit Theed. , I know, I'm evil.

I'm pretty excited about the Mon Calamari arc, and the ships look of Mon Calamari design, and pretty neat at that, but I couldn't see lego making them cause the ships are all fluid, and lego, is well, bricks. I don't like how the preview touched mainly on characters we've seen, like Dooku, Anakin, Padme, and Grevious, though I'm kinda okay with Grevious if he wasn't getting, (for lack of a better term), raped by a Gungan. I personally wish they just showed us new stuff. But at the same time, I'm glad to see those aqua droids weren't just a one-shot appearance, it makes much more sense this way.

And what is this about more Mortis? please, no more. But if it's true, I'm pretty sure theres a guy behind my school who could help me "enjoy it more"

Thanks for putting up the clip(s), guys :sweet::thumbup:

It looks really interesting to me. I'm hoping for a lot of the military aspects, where we'll see major ground battles. Or at least a lot of Clone Trooper action, and a little less Jedi action.

Therefore I'm loving the fact that we finally get to see Phase 2 armor. The part of the clip where you see Plo Koon and the clone troopers in the P2 armor reminds me a bit of Order 66, for some reason (not saying that is is, of course), but that's probably because of the dark blue markings that reminded me of the 501st Legion.

Also wondering what's up with the Tarpals vs. Grievous battle, and if that means there will be another Battle of Naboo or something. Maybe they'll assist at Mon Calamari, since Gungans are aquatic creatures as well, right.

Can't wait :sweet:

Regards,

CF W

I swear, these scriptwriters have really got something against Grievous.

Good. Grievous is a terrible and pointless villain.

I'd wait to see the gungan clip in context before I judge. You never know, Grievous might slaughter the rest painfully

I heard a clone trooper saying, "...this war is gonna end.". Could that mean that this is going to be the last season of The Clone Wars?

He said "Some day this war is going to end". That doesn't say anything about the show ending. We still have at least another two seasons to go.

I don't see what so wrong about a Gungun fighting Gerivous. Jar Jar is dimwitted and clumsy, not the whole race.

True, but they're a primitive race, and Grievous is supposed to be able to hold his own against several Jedi at once, so the idea of a single non-force-sensitive Gungan with a stick being able to damage him that badly is ridiculous.

Filoni said so in this Q&A. :sadnew:

Is this gonna be the last season or will there be a fifth? I'm still waiting for Mace Windu to beat battle droids with his fists!

Like I already said, no. And I think you can wait a long time for that. :sadnew:

I wonder if this means we'll see some Manta droid subfighters.

Let's hope so. If there's anything good about them copying stuff from the original show it's that there's a chance for some of the characters and vehicles from that show to be made into sets.

I missed that last eight episodes or so of Series three though. :hmpf_bad:

Don't worry, you've got a couple of months to catch up.

Thing is, we don't know the lead up to the strike. He could have been distracted by another warrior (he does have a Gungan shock pole thing and only one saber. Maybe he killed the warrior that shocked him and stole his pole.), He could have been monentarily disabled, seeing as the Gungans have the electric balls.

It looks like it's set in a muddy rainy swamp, Natural battle ground for Gungans, not so great for cyborgs.

I'm just saying, don't write the whole season off just because of a 3 second clip.

There is another preview video for season 4 on starwars.com. It is the one they showed at WonderCon this year and it has far more in it than the Cartoon Network one. If you look at about 12 seconds in, you will see these crazy bio-hazard looking clones riding on gunships. And maybe I am crazy but the fighters the clones are flying look similar to a z-95. And the new jedi at the end who looks like a certain cook in the Attack of the Clones looks wicked sweet. Happy watching.
