Bricknblue Posted October 6, 2014 I'm curious if any fellow Eurobrickers are going to NYCCC. I won a ticket from Brickset, but at the time was told it would be mailed. Then after never hearing anything LEGO last week decided that the winners need to pick the ticket up in a three hour window that I doubt I'll be able to make. So I'd now need to stay over a night just to get my ticket and that's not cheap. So I'm wondering if anyone here was going to motivate me into going still. Aanchir Posted October 6, 2014 Yep! I won two tickets from right here on Eurobricks, so I'm going to be bringing my twin brother. Interesting that you were told the tickets would be mailed. I was just asked to provide my contact info and wait for further details to arrive via e–mail, and last week I received word that I would get my ticket at the professional registration desk Thursday morning after showing them a copy of the invitation e–mail. Until I got the e–mail I wasn't entirely sure how I should expect to receive my tickets, but I don't think I was ever explicitly told that they'd be coming via snail mail. Anyway, I'm sure there will be a LOT of other LEGO fans there. The LEGO Group's panel is invite-only, and so most of the people there will presumably be either press or other AFOLs who received their tickets through various fansites. I hope you are able to make it! It'd be a shame for those tickets to go to waste. But I can see how not receiving the details sooner could make things difficult for international attendees. This is the LEGO Group's first time inviting AFOLs to their panel in this way, as far as I'm aware, so I can see how there are going to be some wrinkles in the process to iron out when they plan similar events for the future. Bricknblue Posted October 6, 2014 I live in Massachusetts, I'm "only" 130 miles away, but it's not cheap to get to the city and a little heads up would have been nice. Its also the only day I'm scheduled to work this week. Huw said the tickets would be mailed, then took it back right away. Then it took LEGO over two weeks to get back to me and then I'm supposed to wait in a line between 8am and noon when the EARLIEST, without traffic, my bus would get to the city is 11am. That gives me no time to actually get to the show and get the tickets before noon. It's just seems like a huge hassle to me that I'm no longer going. Four plus hour bus ride there and four plus hour bus ride back to listen to LEGO preach some BS and brag about being number one. I think I'll pass and just look for some pictures online.
