When your PC post the error message saying the drivers can't be found it should also post which drivers are. Just copy the names and look for them in google for example and it will show you some webs where you can download them. Hope it works!

When the message comes up is says "driver could not be found, if you know the manufacturer you can download it from their site". The problem is that even though it is a logitech cam they don't have drivers for it because it is a lego product

If you want to use it with LEGO Studios for nostalgic reasons, then the drivers should be on the Studios disc. Otherwise I wouldn't bother, the picture quality is terrible.

I tried using the studios cd for the driver but the disk says it is missing the .ini file

I have now contacted lego tech support and am now waiting on a reply from them

As a guess the drivers are compatible. What OS are you using?

(I'll move this to the comic/movie forum.)

Maybe your computer is being MEAN!

I think it might not support Vista. Have you tried searching the WHOLE disk for the driver manually?

I would guess that the drivers are for 9x only.

From the Logitech website, it looks like this camera is not compatible with Vista.

However, you might try searching for compatibility workarounds.

Windows Vista has a "Windows Compatibility Mode". In other words, there is a way you can run your programs in a virtual environment that is similar to Win9x. This allows you to run legacy programs on newer machines. You might have a look at the following websites.

Microsoft Windows Compatibility Mode

Another option would be to get a Win98 emulator and run the camera inside that emulator. I haven't messed with this in years, but it is another (albeit complicated) option.

My suggestion echoes the above posts though...get a newer camera.

Good luck!

I doubt that will help in this case as it'll need a driver.

No. I doubt that it'll even work on XP.

My LEGO Studios camera used to work fine on my old Win98 computer. I would suggest, like Davey, using an emulator, or picking up some cheap-as-chips old computer to run Win98 for you.

I know it works with xp as I got the official lego studios xp disk, what I have now decided to do is buy a mini wireless camera to attach to my nxt which was what the lego cam was going to be used for

Windows compatibility mode works on a per-app basis and won't help for using drivers. You would need to set up a 98 or XP VM to do that. Virtual PC is free and relatively easy to set up, and should work for this.

As others have said though, it's probably better to just use a different camera. This Lego one is supposed to be mediocre anyway.

Hey, i've got virtual machine, managed to install the software and the editing software itself is running fine however i can't get the webcam to work properly with it. It's still the original camera that came with the kit, I've completed the camera installation fine with no problems however when i load the software the screen stays black and won't let me record anything through it?

Any ideas?

Thanks
