Is there a Way to communicate Suggestions with the Developers?

Recommended Posts

This big thread is probably a good way

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47953

Or this one as 'wants' for LDD 5.x

I know a great feature Google is developing, which automatically read minds and scans through two pages of forum indexes to find relevant titles I am thinking about. Google 4sight I think it is called, and works directly by using your webcam.

Apologies for the sarcasm; it is said with a big smile (light hearted way)

Hi!

I'd be interested, if there is a Way to communicate Suggestions to the developers of LDD.....eversince my first LDD-MOC I longed for an Option to stroll along my Creation with a Minifig in First-Person....

There are a couple threads now that are full of suggestions for updates, you might take a look at some of those. Lego as a company is very hard to contact directly. Because of the large amount of children who want to tell Lego about their ideas, Lego has put up a lot of services to make sure that they don't get bogged down with lots of "letters to santa" if you get the point. With that in mind, a few of the moderators here at eurobricks do have almost direct contact with the people at Lego, and so the best way to get an idea across, is to make a post about it, and get people to read it enough till one of the mods thinks that it is an important issue. From my understanding, the mod's and people at Lego talk on a regular basis so when that happens, then maybe your idea will pop up, and then it is up to Lego to decide whether to use it or not. I was at one time able to get the email address of the LDD Manager, and so most of the info I am telling you is actually from him, and Superkalle. I know it sounds like a long and hard process and I wish that there was some easier way to communicate out ideas, but thats kinda what the rest of life is like anyway.

I think you nailed it pretty good there Lalror!

Regarding LDD and brick bugs, I can say that I report each and everyone one reported here in the forum, I pipe further to the LDD team (it's a little chore I've taken on :classic: ).

Regarding feature requests, LDD is 100% driven by internal TLG business needs (like any sw development project), i.e. they develop what internal departments pay and ask for. Historically it has been much DbM and Lego Universe. This is both good and bad. It's good, because it lets us LDD users piggy-back on other uses for LDD, i.e. there is flow of money into the development of LDD which keeps things moving. It's bad, because LDD may not develop 100% the way we fans want or they may not prioritise features we think is important. The LDD development team do know about our requests and checks these topics from time to time. However, and for natural reasons, they can't out themeselves here and/or making any statements whatsoever about new features. (hey...I'm begining to sound like a corporate spokesperson....)
