The Theme you most want to Be in.

Recommended Posts

Ok, we all do it, every single one of us has a sigfig or a character figure that we overlay our personality upon. So my question is this: Which theme (or sub-theme) of Lego have you or did you wish/pretend you lived in? Whether now, in which your sigfig sits in those theme MOCs or as a child when your self insert character saved the day (or did the naughty deeds) in your giant mess of a Lego playtime.

As a child my self figures did everything, but the "theme" that I played most was a mix of Adventurers and Space in which space archeologists explored the stars.

Now my sigfig is firmly in the SF of space jet and mecha piloting and has also had a promotion from Captain to Major .

So how about you?

Also, did anyone else have those dreams where you shrank to the size of a lego figure and had a great time playing in you models with your (now alive) minifigures? or was it just me?

Ah yeah, no idea what you mean, never did any of that.

As for the dream, I'm a guy there's only one thing we dream of.

Sorry.

I was just wondering if anyone as now or as a child played with their lego with made up characters, if their sigfig goes in one specific theme LEGO made or their own original made up one. I'd just noticed that as everyone has a sigfig they must have had one as a child to play in their make believe adventures and they must include their's in a certain themes MOC now, even if they don't play the same way they did when they were young. I know I did and so does my little brother, just wanted to know the sort of adventures they had in legoworld as a child mine explored the stars my brother's goes on expiditions with Indiana Jones.

As for the "dream" it was more than likey because I read The Borrowers and another book where the charcter went on some sort of quest with his toys at night and thought it would be cool to be the same size as my toys to play with them and interact with them in a similar way.

But hey, no one seems to care, so if a mod cares to lock this and let it die before its warped into a discussion of adolescent x-rated fantasy, could they?

/sigh

Been having rum again, Peppermint?

The logical choice would be LEGO Town, since that involves less dying, but just for adrenaline I'd like to be in Mars Mission. Piloting huge industrial vehicles on the surface of Mars sounds like a lot of fun. I would just take the next shuttle back to earth when the crap-ariffic jellybean forces show up.

That's a very interesting topic, Peppermint M!

I must honestly say that I don't know in which world of Lego themes I wanted to live when I was a child - supposably City.

When I was an older child I mainly wanted to live in the Castle theme.

My sigfig lives in the Western/Indians theme.

I without doubts prefer to live in the City theme - although the (Classic) Castle theme, the Western/Indians theme and the Star Wars theme are of course great, too. But when you know a bit about reality and history and even about how the future will supposably look like then it's logical that you prefer to live here and now - so in the City theme.

Lego hewkii9 would live in UCS Modular Town, so that he could actually go up to the second floor of his residence! Of course, hewkii9 is a Cyberman, so he might be the slightest bid out of place.

It's funny you should bring this up, just this morning I was dreaming of trying to infiltrate an underwater LEGO base as a bipedal shark, which is my current sigfig. :shark: Usually, when I have dreams about being LEGO sized I am a regular minifig though. Those dreams are the best, I am always disappointed when I wake up and have to go back to living in our far less colorful world.

When I was a kid I put myself into a variety of themes, whatever one I was interested in at the moment. I didn't make fine distinctions between castle and space and others, I used elements from all of them. When I played with my best friend we were usually in a Space/Star Wars/Sci-Fi world. If I had to choose a theme to live in now, I would probably go with Aquazone. It has always captured my imagination the most. But I also like to imagine all the themes existing alongside each other, so ideally I would hop between them.

I was born in the mid 70s so I only knew the classic Space, Town and Castle themes. Actually I loved playing and building with all these themes, keeping a favourite theme during a couple a month.

But as far as I remember, I dreamt to live only in the Town theme, because it was the only one with real living places, I mean at least a bed and a stove! Yes the #6970 base includes a pair of beds -- but who wants to wear a space suit 24/7?? :alien:

Furthermore the very nice catalogue dioramas (i.e. hand made models, not bad Photoshop mountings as today) helped me imagine I was a Lego minifig.

Yay, faith restored etcetera.

No, I have not been at the rum again (ok, so I'm getting my pirate on now, but not when I started the topic) my brother was talking about his character and all his cool stuff and how cool it would be to live it for real instead of playing pretend. So I wondered if anyone else did anything similar.

So yes, its cool to know I'm not the only one odd dream and fantasy land style :classic: .

So does anyone else make up their own theme?

I know a few people like to MOC a few custom theme creations but loads of MOCs seem to be set in a specific and established theme.

As I said before, I made up a theme combining my favourites of SF and Adventurers. Plus nowadays I MOC an Agents/Alpha team hybrid or an SF theme that evolves and changes with every new idea I have.

Seems many here are content to express themseleves only within boundaries.

Yes, I have. If you look in the history forum you will see my invention, the Third Kind. It is a fusion between wild west and UFO. I wouldnt want to be in it though, those aliens are vicious.

I made a theme up a few months ago called Skrapunk and basically it was a large series of buildings all made of grey and chrome pieces and it took place in a huge asteroid completely coated in garbage much like in this game I played called "Rustyard" you can play it on Nitrome.com. Anyway all of the residence of this town where greebly robots and cyborgs including me! The largest building was a construction building that made buildings and vehicles out of the large mounds of garbage. It was all very rundown and greebly but everyone liked it.

Well I always wanted to be in the castle theme, I always wanted to be able to build around the corners I could not get my hands through, all those little corridors. I also therefore wanted to be the fig so I could build like a fig and when done look out of a little window and say hey why the hell did I build this on the very edge of a desk so I cant expand it.

Anyway this dream of wandering kind of comes true in an online game where you build and then play multiplayer games. Some of you may think it is rather mad though. It is:

Roblox

Anyway it can be rather cool when you are building a huge city or wandering through minas tirith or even fighting in the midst of world war 2.

Well for the most part I do established themes, but I also invented the short-lived Viking-Force, and I have a running series of Brickenshoal creations.

My sig-fig lives in the Star Wars universe, but as for me, I would say that I would most want to be a minifig in Alpha Team. The Arctic versions of the minifigs are so cool I can just dream of being one of them. As for if I have made up my own theme: I have made one most noteable one to me: Blue Ice. Yah I know it sounds crazy but it was a weird mix of grey towers and trans-blue elements.

I always wanted to be a jetpack trooper for Blacktron II. Something about causing mayhem throughout the universe while cruising around in a stylish white space jumpsuit. Exciting!

Can't say a life in the dense pines as a forestman would be so bad either.

I think it's a great topic! ) :laugh::thumbup:

Indeed, I guess everyone, at least, once or twice wanted to live in some actual theme.

As for me, when I was younger, I really adored Adventurers theme, and sure wanted to be with von Barron! ) (Damn, I still love that theme and wanna be there! )

Now I would preffer Batman and City (as one). Guess why? )

And Castle sometimes, perhaps. )

Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) :sweet:

Cool ideas :classic: I was using yesterday (after doing some uni work, blech) as a chance to go and play with my lego for hours on end (I love days off) and did some more work on my Agents/Alpha Team fusion, including an updated Ogel (He has a trans neon yellow hook now!) Goons (I have used the red eyed skulls) and pooling all my Alpha Team uniforms and characters with my Agents to ensure no double characters and make some new recruits for both themes, I did the same for my Inferno henchmen too so it was very fun.

It's fun to know each others personal "theme" and that we still make them up even though we are not small kids (apparently only writers and children are allowed to make up fantasy worlds... or so one sad person told me once).

I find this topic to be very interesting, after reading some of our members' thoughts.

As for me, I associate myself with the medieval times and imagine myself to be part of an imaginary fantasy world filled with many different faction. Ever since I was a child, I had developed a strong liking towards Black Knights Kingdom, especially the unique White Knight in the Black Knights Castle. Swords, magic, war, and etc are part of my childhood imaginary world, and I recorded my thoughts somewhere along the line.

Recently over the past few months, I participate EBRP (Eurobricks Roleplay) which is much involved in story writing pertaining to your story line characters. At this moment, I did take a long break away from my story development, and this is how I relate myself when I am writing down my plot and interactions with fellow EBRP players.

My stand is, there is no such thing or rule ever, that state only "Writers" and "Children" are allowed to make up their own fantasy world. Everyone is entitled to their creativity and imagination, and I strongly believe that its up to you to make a difference.

That's very nicely said Whitefang!

And I would want to live in the Napoleonic era, an Imperial Soldier (or rather officer or governor) thus!
