Distorted set release.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, There is most likely a topic to cover this sort of thing but i cant seem to find it. So if there is MODs feel free to move this over.

Anyway I just wanted to note the release of sets on S@H (in the UK at least) has been very different to usual. In the week between christmas and new year new sets have been randomly appearing in groups of about 5-30 per day. There seems to be no logic to there releases and themes were often split up (E.G 4 star wars sets one day another 5 the next and 2 the day after) and Also a lot of new sets have not shown up (man bat attack, Riddler chase and Kashyyyk battle pack that i noticed)

Normally S@H just releases all the new sets at 0:01 on New years day and avoids all complication, So what is the meaning of this absurd new system that blatantly hasn't worked? And will we be getting the gaps filled in soon?

P.S it's not that the missing sets shouldn't be out yet as other sits of the respective lines are already here. Just seems odd to me.

Thanks in advance

-Joker

I think S@H has been having a few glitches - Parisian Restaurant was accidentally made available too soon and people ordered it only to have their order cancelled, and I am not sure if they have managed to sort out that knot that they have tied themselves into from that yet, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were other things not going smoothly also.

Yeah i noticed it was running a bit poorly, I'm sure they will lose business by not listing half the superheroes sets when they should be out.

The sets are probably appearing as they become available in the warehouse. They were pre prepped in the system, but no hard date was actually set. So as the warehouse inventories and stocks them, the sku gets toggled to available and up it pops on S@H. And it is probably taking the warehouse a few days to get a large delivery inventoried and shelved. These things get packed by weight etc, so there may be no theme logic to it. Simply what comes out of the containers first vs whats on the bottom. I suspect the root problem is the S@H system is ignoring set release dates in favor of "in stock" notifications from inventory.

That does sound possible, However it's strange that every year as long as i remember they have released all the sets on the 1st yet this one year they change that. It's now the 2nd and there are still missing sets. Very disappointed.

I also have an order that, when I ordered, it said "Back Ordered 30 Dec 2013" but it has not been shipped yet and now its Jan 2nd! I am going to give a few more days before hassling because I realize there has been a holiday

It's not strange at all. It's probably not a policy change. Just a computer glitch. All of the product information and web pages are in the computer well before the products become available for sale. Normally the system should only be making those visible to the public on the products set "release date". It sounds like the system is ignoring the release date field and instead is toggling the S@H web site pages active as the product hits the shelf in the warehouse.
