Athos Posted March 19, 2005 Hey all, Spent the morning making three vignettes: This one is from a scene in my favorite movie, which I was watching while I was building. Its called "The Floor is On Fire:" http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...orisonfire1.jpg This second one illustrates the dangers of setting up sun-bathing camp too close to the ocean: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...ettes/surf1.jpg And the third one is the funeral (perhaps for the unfornate fellow in the previous vignette): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...tes/burial1.jpg More images of the floor is on fire and other similar themed vignettes: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=119054 More images of the surfer and the funeral: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=121980 Hope you like them, Steve
Wolf04 Posted March 19, 2005 I know this is stupid but what exactly is a vignette? EDIT: Nevermind, good ol'd dictionary told me but I it still doesn't make sense LEGO-wise.
Jipay Posted March 19, 2005 A vignette is a picture of a particular situation. In lego vocab, it's a senette in a 6X6 or 8X8 baseplate
The Middleman Posted March 19, 2005 It's a little scene on an 8x8! :-D I love the funeral one, Athos. You like doing vignettes, eh?
Athos Posted March 19, 2005 You like doing vignettes, eh? I'd like to do some larger stuff too, but right now I don't really have a place where I can keep a longterm larger creation, so vignettes are a way for me to keep building, while at the same time being able to clean up easily.
