Kai, that's a really cool icon below your member information (the flaming head). Did that just show up? What's it for / mean?
Thanks for noticing! It's because I won 1st in the Ninja Month: Everything is better with Ninja! contest! :sweet: I love Kai (er, of course, just looking at my name...), and his element is fire... so that was an easy pick!
All I have left for one of my build is a little photo editing, but I don't have much time now so that might have to wait! :cry_sad:

I answered NiceMarmot. You posted your response right before me. By Ninja'd, I meant that you snuck up and got me without me noticing. And the fact that your name is KaiNRG just added to the Ninjaness.

It's quite fun outside of our Guilded lands. Contests, hillarious games, and plenty of beautiful MOCs. Its plenty worth the swim outside of Historica.

RL has completely pushed back my timetable on my Nestlands builds, but I did make a good push today for NOMEA and Visiting Herbologists. My next day with time for building should be Saturday. I also found out that my church's gathering hall has some lamps that may aid in photographing my current builds. Fingers crossed.

Damaximus, I'm going to have my version of the Mpya Stedor visitation contingient escort some prominant Mitgardians, as there is no established port for the Nestland Clans. I may layer in a trade competition between Mpya Sedor and Berigora to be the primary port for Mitgardian trade for Nesltands products.

Gabe are you cool with this? And is the Causeway still under repair? It may have bearing on the story for NOMEA and Vistiting Herbologists.

Well it looks like I won't be able to frequent GoH any longer until after the new year as my holiday calender is looking extremely packed this year for both home and work (and its looking kind of dead on here anyways  )  So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone should I disappear until after the new year! :angel_sing:

MK - hope you won't disappear completely!  Even if you don't have time to build, drop in and say hi.   Although the guild thread has seemed a bit sedate recently...   Maybe we can jolt it up a bit.  I was hoping someone would post an MOC and thread for in-character discussions. I thought someone was planning on building a tavern in Cedrica for that purpose, but can't remember who.  If I build up enough of a backlog of Advent Calendar builds, maybe I'll take on the in-character discussion build.

What sets is everyone hoping to get for Christmas (or other holidays) to help your Kaliphlin / Historica building?

I for one am looking forward to the Helms Deep and MMV sets I bought for my son!  They've been sitting in their boxes in the closet torturing me for months, especially the MMV which I must have bought in the spring.

Well I'm sure I'll be checking by every so often especially to keep up to date with the GoH advent calender which btw you have done some really great micro builds! But I'm afraid I won't have much time to do much posting as that happens usually only during slow times at work. (still holding out on myself to get internet back at the house- kind of don't want to go back to the way it was when we had internet at the house, wife on her computer and me on mine all the time. Home is now kind of a break from the neverending draw of the interweb and I kind of like it that way)

As for sets for Christmas... I guess I celebrate christmas year round   usually when I can get the best deal... so I'm probably going to wait for after new year before I buy any more LEGO. I'm probably most looking forward to the CM series 9, LoC, and a couple of the 2013 Ninjago sets. Concerning this years sets, I'm hoping for at least a 20% discount before I buy the Hobbit and any more LoTR sets.

Think you might have got a bit confused... I was (and still am, sometime in the future) planning on doing a build in Cedrica, Mini (Penkid) said he was planning on building an MOC and thread for in-character disscussion, and you had mentioned before that you had been thinking about doing the same thing but with a Tavern. Or maybe I'm confused... :shrug_confused:

Anyway, hope you do get a chance to drop in every once and a while, MK, I'm busy (well, not really that busy, but somewhat) until the 15th or so, then I'll be back to my normal scedual - more or less. I'm almost never busy from the 20th until the 2nd - so I'll at least be around! Got another two builds done as well, just need to write the story now!

That's still the plan. Just have to finish Varlyrio. And I've been thinking that I might go a completely different direction with the "in-character" discussions build.

Hmm, I may choose one type of brick which will be on the list for the Bulklug  this year, but I am not really sure what one :/

I was thinking of the 2x4 (white), because they are really expensive on bricklink and I still need thousands of them, but then again, there are so many other bricks I still need in big quantities.

So any advice? :)

I would go for something more rare than just a normal brick, maybe brick bricks, headlight bricks, or tiles?

Brick bricks would be a great choice.  Or maybe light-bluish-grey or tan 1x1 bricks with stud on the side?  Can't have too many of those.  I'm sure the Avalonians would choose light-bluish grey 1x1 round plates :classic:

Headlight bricks have limited use, tiles are on PaB walls pretty often, but 2x4 bricks are a bit harder to come by as they take up so much room in the PaB cup.  I would pick up white, gray, black - all useful colors to have a lot of bricks in.

I would avoid anything you can get on the PAB wall.
While it might be slightly more expensive than ordering through the bulk order, it's at least a piece you can get in large quantities.

To me, I would recommend choosing something you need or can always need in huge quantities. Sure you might be able to get say a 1x2 light bley brick for 3 cents on bricklink - but maybe only 20 of them.
This might be your chance to get 5000 of them :P

Personally I would recommend small pieces that are useful in large quantities... like small plate, tile, or specialty pieces like headlight or snot bricks.

I am only buying on discount now (well as soon as I get a goblin king set) as I have to save for a wedding next year.  But, after Christmas, I am looking to buy any LOTR that might go on sale and hopefully score some Ninjago sets on discount.

I really want to get back to building... 12 classes to grade this week, but I should only have one over the next three weeks after this week is over. So I am really hoping that I can get a few MOCs in. But every time I say that, I don't... So, maybe I should say that I can't do any, and see what happens.

I'm hoping to see some LOTR sales as well, but based on how long PoTC lasted, I think it will be almost the time of the second release of LOTR sets before these really get discounted.  I wanted some more sets with Kaliphlin like colors/pieces to it to get discounted after Xmas, but in looking at what is available I don't foresee any of that going cheaper.  Last January, I was able to pick up some Pharoah's Quest at 50% off

I think there will be some sales after Xmas. LOTR is an obvious candidate, and we're starting to see some scattered LOTR sales -- I picked up Helm's Deep at 40% off on yoyo.com a month ago or so, and Uruk-Hai Army is getting close to a good price. My guess is that some retailers won't have room for both LOTR and Hobbit on their shelves, and will look to move LOTR more quickly.  I'm hoping that Monster Fighters goes on sale too -- I'd love a Vampyre Castle and/or Haunted House, but don't want to pay anything close to full price for them.
