Okay, so I'm freaking out a little bit about this problem. I went to open up an lxf. file in LDD, one that I had been working on for a loooooong time; my T-70 X-Wing MOC. But when I went to open it, nothing showed up. No grid, no model; when I try to generate instructions for it it just churns, the screeenshot mode (whatever it's called) is just a blank screen. Do any of you know what this problem is, or how I could fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks. EDIT: Never mind, everyone! For some reason, the typical right-click to drag the view around moved the model and grid in the frame.

Good that it's been solved! LXF files are ZIP files containing an LFXML file and a PNG file, so you can always rename it to zip, extract the contents and inspect them. (problem is that you'll need to know more about the fileformat/inner workings if you want to fix problems this way). What I usually do when creating a big model that takes a lot of hours, is to save it to a new file every now and then.

If you're using a computer keyboard with a number pad on it, pressing the 5 key in the center will center all of your model in the viewing area.

Thanks! I had the same issue with another file, and another (more time-consuming) option is to import the file into an empty file, which also fixes it.

I'm having this issue right now - when I opened the most recent iteration of a MOC I'm in the middle of designing, which I had saved not 15 minutes ago, I got a blank screen. The bricks are obviously there because LDD counts the pieces and the building guide mode indeed instructs me to build the MOC that I know is there, but there's nothing to see. I've tried zooming in, zooming out, rotating the camera, pressing the little circular arrow to centre the model in front of the camera, but nothing happens.

Other .lxf files I have do show things when I open them, including earlier versions of the same model (thank goodness!), so it's not critical, but it's jolly annoying because I spent 2 hours updating my model and messing with angles, etc.

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I open the MOC I've discussed. I hope somebody can help. Thank you.

I'm definitely not hiding the model - anyway, I'd expect the grid still to be there if that were the case. I've attached the file here for you to look at.

I might add that I can take bricks out of the palette and put them in the model to create changes, which I can save if I want to, but those bricks are also invisible.

Same problem here.

However, once exported to LDraw, all the parts are there and centered around 0,0,0.

Will look into the LXF…

Edit: Okay, didn’t see anything strange. I changed the camera (copied from another file) and it works: http://slswww.free.fr/GDK6_modcam.lxf

hmmm... it's weird that the camera should have been changed. I wonder what I did? While I try to work that out, thank you SylvainLS for changing the camera for me.

I can get out of that problem (too)! Just click (CTRL+A) to select all the parts and then (CTRL+C) to copy the model. Then open a new file, paste it (CTRL+V). Or, (CTRL+A) to select all the parts and then (CTRL+X) to cut the model. Then reset the camera, paste it (CTRL+V).
