Xan326 Posted December 12, 2013 Okay, so this has happened with past versions and now the current version. I'm on Windows 8 (Not 8.1), and when I launch from my start menu, LDD will come up in compatibility mode. But when I launch from my desktop, it launches just fine. It's not a major thing, but sometimes its easier to just go to my start menu and launch it from there, as opposed to collapsing my windows and finding it on my desktop. I haven't really seen much on this issue, but it would be nice if someone has some tips to fix it.
squiddos Posted December 13, 2013 I dealt with that issue too. I found that if I remove the Safe Mode version in the start menu and replace it with the Desktop one, everything worked.
Calabar Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) Could you post the destination of the shortcut that you use in the Windows 8 Start Screen? It seems that LDD is not able to place the right shortcut in the Start Menu. Maybe you can solve the problem simply editing the shortcut. Xan326 Posted December 16, 2013 I have no idea how to edit start menu shortcuts, I'm not used to Windows 8 yet. I know it's linked the same as the desktop shortcut since it was put in the start menu by the install wizard.
Calabar Posted December 16, 2013 You can find the folder containing the shortcuts related to the tiles in the Start Screen in For all users %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ For your user %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\
