Gee, It's been a while since I was on a farm hope they smell better after 10 years.

I vote for farm.

I would like to go back the the Town Hall, I don't like leaving things unfinished. Then I'll be happy to go to the farm.

Mr. Harding, Mrs Harding, Mr Daly, welcome to the doomed beautiful town of Alabatha. You couldn't have come at a worse time.

Before we move on to the Farm, there are a few questions I'd like answered or clarified.

Did anyone bother to check the Hotel registry while you were there? Don't you think we should find out who this "Ted" is and see who rented the 2nd floor room? I have a very bad feeling that the bloodstain on the third floor was this "Ted". The blood had fully dried, right? So the stain was at least a day or two old before "we" got there.

When you were in the third floor room in the hotel, was the broken glass inside the room or out on the street? Everyone assumed the red was breaking out of the room, but I suspect that he was breaking in, to remove some evidence before you could get to it. Would he really have needed a rock from the beach to break the window if he was inside? Also, what side of the hotel was the ladder on, and was it there before you went into the hotel? If you remember, I wasn't there at the time, thanks to our friendly neighborhood CIA agent.

Also, someone should check to see if the broken window was locked. Better yet, at least three people should check. Safety in numbers. Did anyone bother to check under the beds in the Hotel?

Dieter, yesterday you were saying something about being in a tunnel. Where were you when you found the tunnel? How did you get in? Where did it lead to?

Did anyone bother to open the crate that was floating in the water near the lighthouse?

Does the name Harborside Boats mean anything to me?

I'd like to see the three notes that you found at the Hotel. Are they written in the same handwriting?

There is the secret tunnel we are all but certain is in the Town Hall basement. Shouldn't we find that first? I don't care if we finish searching the upper floors or not, but I think knowing where the tunnel entrance is will be important.

One last thing, I'd like to fill in the newcomers on everything we know from the first three chapters.

Captain Harding, is the Lakota registered as an American vessel or does it sail under a foreign flag? Would you mind showing us the ship's manifest? I don't think a full search of the vessel is warrented right now. Besides, it would take far to long to fully search a cargo ship. I would ask that the ship be locked down if possible, and that no cargo be transferred on or off of the ship. I doubt there are any dockworkers left around to do that work anyway. And James is too busy with us.

The name Harborside Boats does not mean anything to you. They are all written in the same handwriting. Mayor Bradford then fills in the newcomers on what has happened.

The townsfolk head for the Simmons' Farm.

"Shouldn't you have a warrant or somethin'?" Farmer Simmons asks.

However, the fear of the increasing mob outside persuades him to let the people head inside and search his farm.

"Look at this note I found on the way here." The Congressman says.

It reads: "Be wary of newcomers to the town."

I'd like to know the layout of the farm and look under the patio.

Simmons, do you want these commies gone or not?

Is the note from your CIA friend, congressman? Is he paranoid or does he have some information he's keeping from us? It'd be nice if the guy could actually, you know, help us catch commies instead of plotting our deaths.

As I should know this ahead of time, I'd like to know if any in our group worked on my election campaign.

I just thought of something. Captain Harding, you don't frequent this town often, do you? Do you happen to stay at the Alabatha Hotel, perhaps on the third floor? If you do, you mighht want to reconsider. It's not as clean a room as it used to be, and it's sort of drafty now.

I'd like to ask Patrick Jefferson and the police officers who investigated the late Mrs. Jefferson's death.

Hmmm. So we're not to trust the newcomers. I'm going to take that quite literally. I'd like to ask each member of our group to relate how long they have lived in Alabatha. I am going to start by giving my own story.

I would like to look around on the ground and under foliage for any loose bits of ground or even a tunnel entrance. I would also like to peek under the porch.

You know how on farms, there is the big red building?

If there is a big red farm, I would like to search through it, specifically if there is something hidden in the hay stacks.

And for those wondering, I have not got a hotel room yet.

Asks for a place to stay.

I'd like to tell the tale of how long I lived here, how long my children lived here, and about the last five years Dolores lived here.

I'd like to know the layout of the farm and look under the patio.

Simmons, do you want these commies gone or not?

There's a field of crops in one area, the farm house in another, a few produce trees in the back, and then the abandoned Alabatha General Store all the way in the back. He then looks under the patio, but there's nothing there.

I would like to look around the bushes and trees for anything suspicious

Dr.Lloyd peers into the bushes, but can't find anything odd in there.

Is the note from your CIA friend, congressman? Is he paranoid or does he have some information he's keeping from us? It'd be nice if the guy could actually, you know, help us catch commies instead of plotting our deaths.

"It's just a simple note I found on the ground." the Congressman says.

I would like to stick by my friend and neighbor Alan as we walk through his farm, giving him a friendly face.

Ralph and Farmer Alan hold hands as they walk through the farm.

I would like to take the broom and use it for future self-defence

I would also like to look around the trees and tap them to see if they are hollow

Stevie grabs the broom, and holds onto it. He then taps the trees, but none of them are hollow.

As I should know this ahead of time, I'd like to know if any in our group worked on my election campaign.

No one from this group worked on your election campaign.

"I visit this town sometimes. Yes, my friend owns the hotel. He was saving the third floor for me, as always." Captain Harding says.

"I believe I investigated Mrs. Jefferson's death." Chief Phelps says.

Mayor Bradford then compiles a list.

Mayor Bradford - 20 Years

Will Ackerson - 15 Years

Alan Cain - 12 Years

Chief Phelps - 60 Years (Entire Life)

Tim Fields - 11 Years

Louis Harrison - 11 Years

Dieter Schneider - 15 Years

Simon Lloyd - 7 Years

Patrick Jefferson - 20 Years

James Falzone - 26 Years (Entire Life)

Julie Parker - 5 Years

Alan Simmons - 33 Years (Entire Life)

Dolores Jefferson - 4 Years

Gloria Jefferson - 14 Years (Entire Life)

Stevie Jefferson - 14 Years (Entire Life)

Ralph Jenkins - 45 Years

Valerie Jenkins - 45 Years

Matt Liebenston - 1 Day

Ted Harding - 0 Days

Jackie Harding - 0 Days

Frankie Daly - 0 Days

I would like to look around on the ground and under foliage for any loose bits of ground or even a tunnel entrance. I would also like to peek under the porch.

Chief Phelps uses his detective skills to peer into the foliage and around the ground for a secret entrance. There's nothing indicating an entrance to the tunnel. He then looks under the porch, but it's empty.

There is no big red building?

"I should be staying at the Hotel, but since my room is a crime scene, I'll stay on my boat." Ted says.

(Also, feel free to tell your own tales. I've given everyone enough information to do so, and you can make up things as long as you go. Just as long as you don't say you were Space Robot Millionaires in your younger days.)

No red farm? What kind of place is this?

I would like to search through shelves in the general store. I would like to go search in the back of the store, and in the bathrooms to see if their is holes in the walls, or secret passages, but I will wait for some one else to come with me for protection.

Who is Mr. Warrent and why does the farmer want us to wait for him before searching his farm? The captain said he is in the constitution's 4th amendment so he must be important.

I would like to know what kind of crops are growing and if they are tall enough or thick enough to hide something in.

Also, I would like to know what kind of animals are on the farm and ask the farmer if he has seen anything suspicious recently.

An abandoned general store seems like a place where the commies would set up camp...

I vote we head there first before searching the rest of the farm

I would like to know why the congressman believes that Alabatha was targeted by the communists in the first place. Is there something here they might want?

Should we go inside the farmhouse or investigate the outbuildings?

The store is locked.

Id' like to escort Ted to the general store.

Officer Fields heads over to the General Store, so do the others.

Sighs. Yep. Live in this town all you rlife, and then the stinkin' government goes to blow it away.

I'd like to feed the apple to the horse and see what happens

Stevie feeds the apple to the horse as Farmer Alan reminds him this isn't a petting zoo. The horse yearns for more, but seems content for the moment.

"I'm growing corn and carrots in the fields. I'm also growing apples in the trees. I have a few dogs, a few pigs, a couple of chickens, and a few horses on the farm too." Farmer Alan says.

Only 5 years! It feels like ages.

On that note, is there anything that would give away who wrote it? Does anyone recognise the handwriting?

There's nothing to indicate who wrote it.

I would like to know why the congressman believes that Alabatha was targeted by the communists in the first place. Is there something here they might want?

Should we go inside the farmhouse or investigate the outbuildings?

"I've been asking myself that for the past few days, and I haven't been able to reach a solid conclusion." the Congressman says.

Should Mr. Warrent come with us? He seems like a very important man since everyone wants to see him.

I would like to glance back and see if the corn stalks are tall enough to have something hidden in them.

Also, if it is a dirt road I would like to look for any unusual footprints or tire tracks in the dirt.
