Solscud007 Posted August 17, 2010 Im looking to get the Death Star set. looks like a lot of fun. I looked at the instructions PDF and started wondering if I should get Mini vehicles or build them and place them in or around the death star. what are your recommendations? I would like two tie fighters to escort the midi tie advanced. has anyone made a mini scale death star trench?
gotoAndLego Posted August 17, 2010 The closest you can get to scale is a 1x1 plate.
Solscud007 Posted August 17, 2010 The closest you can get to scale is a 1x1 plate. haha ok maybe not quite perfect scale. im thinking a mini star destroyer might look good circling the death star. Also the mini MF might look good docked in the hanger while obiwan and darth duel it out off to the side.
prateek Posted August 17, 2010 Again, you'll have to use a 1x1 stud for the MF and ISD. That's how big the Death Star is.
brickfoot Posted August 17, 2010 The imperial star destroyer would be larger than one stud.
prateek Posted August 18, 2010 The imperial star destroyer would be larger than one stud. Yeah, you're right. I thought the one in the set was an Executor class.
Brickdoctor Posted August 18, 2010 Yeah, you're right. I thought the one in the set was an Executor class. It is. Just to clarify, I think he's talking about the playset, not the UCS DS2. Otherwise, the trench statement wouldn't make sense since the DS2 already has a trench. (unless of course, everyone knows that and is joking around)

Artanis I Posted August 18, 2010 As soon as I saw the title & sub-title I immediately thought hmmm.... maybe a star destroyer would look like this:
Fallenangel Posted August 19, 2010 Perhaps this screenshot from the film could help?
gotoAndLego Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) Perhaps this screenshot from the film could help? Except we don't know how far away from the DS that shot was taken. While Wookiepedia should have the dimensions of all these things, the UCS DS's star destroyer is good to base scale from. Darth Lion Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) has anyone made a mini scale death star trench? Ehm, yes I did. Here's the link: Attack on the Death Star I built a micro scale TIE fighter for this mini diorama. Hope, this helps. ;) Edited August 22, 2010 by Darth Lion
vynsane Posted August 22, 2010 If you're talking about the 10188 Death Star and not the UCS DSII, and want to make other starfighters that match the size of the TIE Advanced in that set, check out this dude's Chibi A-Wing for some inspiration.
Solscud007 Posted August 23, 2010 Thanks, the Awing is very chibi and very cute. Anymore scaled down vehicles? I saw one guy made a great midi millenium falcon that can fit one mini fig in the cockpit and the main body opens up. however there are no instructions. afosl Posted August 23, 2010 Im looking to get the Death Star set. looks like a lot of fun. has anyone made a mini scale death star trench? Lego made a one off, mini scale Death Star Trench complete with mini X-Wing and mini Tie Fighters, back in 2003. It was built especially to be auctioned on Ebay with the proceeds going to charity. It sold for quite a few dollars. I'm sure someone on here has a picture of it.
