Why Can't I Add a Poll to My Thread?

Recommended Posts

ThatGuyWithTheBricks,

The answer is very simple. You have the privilege of creating a poll is because you are a student of the Reviewers Academy. We grant students the power of creating polls for the sole purpose of integrating it together with their pictorial review. It's not meant for abuse to create other non-related discussions. A few attempts for other right purposes is fine, but too much of it and not doing it with your reviews is wrong, and could be subjected of the withdrawal of your access inside the Reviewers Academy.

Hope I have made this clear to you.

OK, I didn't know that. Thanks for that answer!

i was wondering how you make a topic a poll???

You have to be a Knight. In other words, you need at least 500 posts. :classic:

You can also request a Moderator to put on up if it is a necessity, like on say a review. :sweet:

This thread explains Ranks and what "perks" come with each one.

Also a quick search would show this has been asked numerous times before.

I think this would be a better place if that number was lowered. Now I am one closer.

Perhaps, but to me it'd be more appropriate to be allowed at around 250. We can't do that so it'll stay as it is for now. We've seen over and over again that the poll privilege is easy abused and over used.

Honestly I don't really see the need. Besides reviews there are very few instances I can see for making a poll. I do understand those few reasons are likely good reasons I'm just saying they don't seem to come up that often, and in the rare occasion they do, asking a moderator isn't hard, they are very friendly.

Exactly. The less topics we have like this the better...

I would like to make one of my polls public and since I didn't see any topic related to it I thought I'd ask. Is it something only Mod's can do?

Thanks.

When you edit your post with the poll, you should be able to edit the poll as well, it should just be a box you either check or uncheck. Should be at the top of your post.

Okay so when I go to my topic to edit the poll the only box I see that I can check says "Allow users to select multiple answers?"

Edit: Okay I figured it out. You can't make a poll public once votes have been made. Who knew?

Yes, I was just out looking at polls everywhere, turns out you can only change it after a votes been cast if you have moderator abilities in that forum. Otherwise you need to make that decision when you first make the thread.

I always go for public, it's fun to see who voted.

Someone in my Whack-Off thread wanted to see who was supporting who. So in the end I had to delete all of the votes and start over! :hmpf_bad: So whoever voted there need to go back!

Oh, too bad, I didn't get you an answer sooner, whenever you can't do something, someone with moderator abilities probably can.

Thankfully there were only seven votes so far. Yeah that seems to be true.

I still don't understand. Can I make a poll?

I don't see what's so hard to understand about this:

tag_member_knight.gif

Knights achieved a 500+ post count and know their stuff when it comes to bricks.

Max. total upload file space: 150 KB

Max. number of stored PMs: 100

At this rank, members are allowed to start polls.

If Knights can start Polls, why (as a Count) can't I?

Edit: :wall: :wall: :wall:

It seems that I can make polls. I feel stupid. :hmpf:
