So, your dark ages are over! Glad to have you back in the French fleet admiral! :pir-sweet:

I like your comeback with a personal cannon, which is also green. Good work on the small MOCs too.

So how is the Sang Royale coming along? It looks quite finished on your photos. Also with a fantastic rigging.

I'm glad you're on our side Admiral! Together we'll crush the Redcoat fleet! :pir-devil:

He entered an age of Darkness a couple of months ago, that means he wasn't active with LEGO for that period.

Perhaps you weren't that active on the forum yet and didn't know HMS with his wonderful WIP Sang Royale.

How is the ship coming along Admiral? You've made me very curious with the pictures!

I have heard of Sang Royale, I just don't remember Admiral Be`jaue.

Then check the good Admiral Béjaune's title, I think that explains a lot then.

I see why I was confused, he changed his name.

My first reaction was: Hey that's HMS's ship! What is Béjaune doing with it? :pir-tongue:

Then I saw Béjaune's title and it was all clear to me. :pir_laugh2:

I just realised Blackmoor, that your ship is name Le Fourageux although thats a french name, But you have written it as HMS Fourageux? We wouldnt allow a Bluecoat French ship as His Majesty's Ship! (King George)

A certain title in his signature isn't very Blue either, i think we have a spy in our mids.

Ow dear, I'm in trouble! :pir_laugh2:

Let me explain something:

I have no idea what the French had before the ship's name, HMS or something else? the H can be His or Her.

Or was it just "Fourageux" without something...

I think I should change the name then. :pir-grin:

About the sentences in my signature:

I change them every couple of days, mostly quotations of famous persons.

And I'm defenitely not a spy! I'm insulted! I'm one of the loyalst Bluecoats around here!

Then it would say: England expects every man to die from friendly fire. :pir-sing:

Haha :pir-laugh::thumbup:

Well, I hope you are happy with my new signature! :pir-devil:

The ship names are a bit pale without 'HMS'.

I think people don't even know it are ship names if I hadn't put 'Ships' for it. :pir-grin:

If you see a name with HMS or USS almost everyone knows you're talking about a ship.

So the French really hadn't something like HMS?

I think His/Her Majesty Ship fits with the Frenchies too.

Looks good, the Spanish Captain's look like rich man anyhow, although I would use them more as merchants.

But an Admiral will do as well of course :pir-wink: .

The French have ''Le'' and ''La'', your ship would be Le Fourageux. ;-)

Its strange, When you search french warships, most of them do not have a photo, When you search British ships, Hundreds have Portraits or photos!

If the french did have the same as English, It would be because they couldnt think up there own... :pir-hmpf_bad:

Your first ships were all made after Dutch designs, so stop picking on the French who definitly had their own design which made far more superior sailing ships. The only thing the British had were well trained crews, which has helped them to victory in many cases ofcourse. And if you search well, there's many images and models of French ships. It's just all in French.... :pir_laugh2:

Ahem...Battle of Trafalgar, Battle of the Nile e.t.c.

I dont think they were superior if they couldnt defeat us. :pir_laugh2:

You had better crews, but not faster or better steerable ships my friend.

I wish our country was bigger, then you´d be speaking Dutch now.

Dear CGH,

weren't the British ships at Trafalgar copies of French designs?

There is some hint in wikipedia:

linky here

But I'm quite sure I read somewhere Thomas Slade copied the French hull design.

Of course the French could have copied the Dutch designs first.. :pir-tongue:

Maybe Errorist knows for sure how everything links up?

Kind regards,

Teddy

Well it doesnt matter who copied who, As long as we won. :pir_laugh2:

But the Dutch were like the first country to make a good ship design which were used generations.

But did the Spanish copy the Dutch, or the Dutch copy the spanish ships? Because Fluyts and Galleons have the same "Banana" shaped design. (Thats my way of describing it)
