Mos Eisley Cantina?

Recommended Posts

well I really like this set because of minifigs but that's it. I didn't have Obiwan and Tatoine luke before. Greedo is also really nice. And finally the stormy is awesome with the backpack and everything.

But considering the other stuff, I like the dewback and also the speeder. And that's it. I don't know why they calle dit cantina because there is only a small part of a wall of the cantina so there is something missing. I hope for extension sets in the future, that could be awesome for sure ! :D

Think the set is ok, but Greedo is great. The Sand Trooper is just a Storm Trooper with an Red Cloth ;)

This is a shame they didn't put a plastic stuff on the storm shoulder. BUIt it's better than a melted helmet+backpack

I also have the Cantina set. The dewback rocks, Im glad it is molded rather than made from bricks. But, as DoubleT said the sand trooper stinks.

Anyway, there are some decent parts in the set and once it is on sale I hope to buy a few more and expand to create a larger cantina MOC.

This is also what I planned. As pretty much everyone planned. One of our indic at rebelscum said that lego will release additionnal cantina sets, but I doubt... I guess that we are all dreaming of a big cantina fuull of aliens :)

Yeah, it would be great if they produced a few more different cantina sets. They could have a few aliens, such as the bith band, in each as well as the little cantina coves. They could be joined up like cloud city to produce a large cantina. I really hope they do this, but Im guessing they wont. :(

Im mad that i never got to buy that set. I think they should re-release it as a special set, onsidering all the new bricks we have. I think it would turn out amazing!

Ah, Ill just get it off eBay

This is quite the post revival!

But since it has been brought up, this set is perfect for a re-issue. If done correctly, including a few new aliens, I think the set would sell very well like the 7666 Hoth Rebel Base.

What do you think about the Mos Eisley Cantina ?

I think it's outrageous what they charge for a simple, freaking glass of water. Desert planet or not, haven't they heard of moisture vaporators? I mean, it's a well-established technology. And the bartender's pretty surly. At least they do make up for it with some cool house brews, and the band rocks.

Er - the LEGO set? I loved it, back in the day. It's great to have a LEGO dewback. Of course Luke, Han and Ben no longer quite fit with more contemporary LEGO Star Wars builds since the shift from yellow to fleshtones, but I like having them for use in MOCs outside the Star Wars universe, and Han's legs here are still the definitive A New Hope Han Solo legs, since for whatever reason TLG has insisted on using brown pants on him since then, even for scenes from the original movie when he wore blue ones.

I remember quite a bit of griping about the piece count for this set when it came out, and I always thought it was a little misplaced, considering the fact there were quite a few large, specialized pieces like the dewback elements, plus five humanoid minifigures, including one memorable character who to this day is still unique to this set. I picked up two copies and wish I could've gotten more. I also wish I could've gotten one in the Kenner-retro "Original Trilogy Edition" packaging - I can't save all my LEGO boxes, but I do try to hang onto at least a few, notably including all Star Wars ones for sets pertaining to A New Hope, and I really wish I had all those boxes (and all the sets that were released in them, for that matter).
