Ideas for new City sets

Recommended Posts

Bad idea.. It violates LEGO's anti-violence policy..

Its preety obvious that lego is starting to stray away from that "policy" as seen by many of its present themes. Just wait, you'll be seing tanks, and jets as USC sets in no time. ;)

In that case, those sets would be 16+ Technic UCS sets.. :-/

A bus needs a bus station. So: What about a bus station? Should it be included in the Public Transport Bus set or should the bus station be a separate set or should the bus station set include a bus, too, so that you've got two buses?

I'm not sure of a bus station, but I think maybe a bus stop should be included. Just a little shelter with a sign and a couple of seats inside would do the trick. :-)

Well arn't most USC sets 16+ anyways? BUt there's nothing to say that they would have to be just USC sets. You might be seeing some city sized "humvee" or "jeep" style vehicles in the futrue. I know, i know, i'll get the "Lego will never make military style vehicles cause it violates there anit war/violence policy! It will never happen! Sorry to say Peeps, but the signs are all around us. Lego is testing to see how it plays in everyday lego themes. I'm not saying that lego will start a "war" theme or anything, but i don't see it being unlikely seeing an F-16, or F-22 (or anything wrong with it for that matter) They don't even need to have missles (to make europe happy). We can alsway add those ourselfs. I don't think idea is to far off.

That reminds me.. 8-| There was something about a large car set LEGO maybe was going to release on LEGOFan.org a while back..

I think it was an ambassador or an official LEGO employee that announced it. So LEGO asked us what the general AFOL would want..

Hard to explain with my crappy vocabulary.. *wacko*

I voted for the Hummer H1. ;-)

Yes, i remember seeing that a while ago. They had a couple examples made by AOLF's. I beilve there was a mustang, deloren,a VW bug and a couple others. Yes, i a Hummer H1 would be a great choice!

As far as the creator set, yes i have seenit, and have even bought it. This is a great starting point. If we could have somthing in mini fig scale than we would have it made!

I would love to have a flower shop/greenhouse/nursery with loads of flowers and different kinds of trees (spruce, pine, palm, etc). I also want the building to be constructed entirely of clear panels, clear domes, or roof windows like the Velux set.

These are very nice set proposals, SalvoBrick.

The the post station is brilliant. It has the accurate size for a Lego City post office and is very well created. But I'd more like it if it would be in yellow colour because that would be more varied because the most Lego City houses are white.

The supermarket is exellent! That's a set I'd really want and I'd really buy!

It's absolutely perfect in every sense.

The bus is very nice because it has - in my oppinion - the accurate size for a Lego City bus - not too big and even not too little. The colour is very nice, too.

I'd like a bigger hospital like you did, too. In your MOC there is much place and a lot of configuration. That would be a Lego City hospital which I'd really like. THe only thing is that some minifigs are missing but that's no problem.

Like Athos I'm also tired of police and fire sets. These are always nearly the same and who needs lots of fire or police stations?! More sets with civil persons should be released. But I would like sets which include also women and kids and not always only men!

(I will write down some ideas for new City sets the next day. In the moment I've little time, much to work!)

Ban that man!! :-D I am in much agreement though that there has to be more of a range in themes. I love my Emergency Services, but I really need a town to protect! :-D

I love these ideas. I think they would be fantastic for anyone's layout (including mine eventually!!) Also, I'd love to see a backhoe, in the vein of 8455 Back-Hoe, but obviously scaled-down to minifig, if it hasn't been done yet.

Wouldn't mind an Airport Fire Section, sort of in the vein of 381, Police Station. This way you have a couple of engine bays, a watchroom and an equipment store / workshop.

A bank would be awesome! I could then employ my Armoured Car and Police ;-) to ward off would-be thieves!

A revamped horse stud / stable setup would be great for my daughter, like set 6379. This way you could also have a lest one subset like set 6359, an SUV (with doors!) towing a horse float.

My town has two banks:

And an armoured car:

It certainly makes life exciting in Tabletown- no wonder every fourth MF is a cop. :-D

Following on what's been said before, I'd also like a school.

Welcome to EB, Doctor Sinister!

It certainly makes life exciting in Tabletown- no wonder every fourth MF is a cop. :-D

That's the same thing with my Lego City: I like it to have a lot of policemen and many police cars.

I've created a task force, too. That are policemen from the years 1993 - 2001 with black helmets, self-made "police" stickers on their backs and pistols, submachine guns (from the new SW sets) and guns (from the new SW sets) as arms. I like them when they storm a house, free the hostages and arrest the criminals.

But that's not really the topic of this forum. Do some new ideas:

Fastfood Restaurant

a fastfood restaurant with two tables, some seats, a counter with a cash and a kitchen with some electric appliances to make food, a Drive In and one table with seats and a slide outside

including some cuos and food boxes, a civil car (four stuck bright and with doors) and a bicycle

minifigs: two fastfood restaurant workers (one male and one female), a man and a child

Fastfood Delivery Van

a fastfood delivery van (four stuck bright and with doors)

including some cups, some food boxes and a radio set

minifigs: delivery van driver

Gym

a gym (first floor: counter with computer and bar, two or three bar stools and a "weightlifter machine" (I don't know the real name), second floor: one treadmill and two "bicycle machines" (I don't know the real name))

including two cups and two glasses

minifigs: gym owner (female), a woman and a man

Toyshop

a toyshop (first floor: toyshop with counter with a cash and a rack, second floor: living room with a TV on a little table, a sofa and a little table with a lamp)

including some toys and a glass

minifigs: toyshop owner and child

Taxi Station

a taxi station with a little cottage with a table with a computer, a telephone and two seats, a tree, a phone box and some seats to wait outside

including a suitcase

minifigs: two taxi drivers and a citizen

Pharmacy

a pharmacy (first floor: pharmacy with counter with cash and computer and a big pharmacist's cupboard, second floor: pharmacist's laboratory with writing table with computer, a table with appliances to experiment and two seats)

including some drugs, some laboratory stuff and a suitcase

minifigs: pharmacist (male), pharmacist's assistant (female) and a woman

So, momentary that's it!

What do you think about this?

Klaus-Dieter, your idea of the Fast Food Restaurant sets sounds very appealing to me.

This could actually be something TLC might produce.

Has anyone mentioned a Hairdressers / Salon.

Would be good set for getting "female" mini-figs.

So would a clothes or chocolate/confectionary shop.

A hairdressers or a salon would be a very nice idea, Calvin!

The chocolate/confectionary shop is similar to my proposal of a Candy Shop I posted some pages before.

A clothes shop would be necessary for a real Lego City, too and is similar to my proposals of a Skate Shop and a boutique I posted some pages before.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What about this?

Security Company

a security company building (first floor: entrance with stairway and two garages with roller shutters, second floor: security headquarters with wriing table with three monitors, telephone and a seat and an office with a writing table with computer, telephone and a seat) with a big fence and a sliding door outside

including some suitcases, a radio set, some jewels, a little security corollary van (with doors and only four stuck bright) (to convoy cars of politicians, rich people, ...) and a security transport van (b]with doors and only four stuck bright[/b]) ( to transport jewels, bonds, trappings, ...)

minifigs: security company's boss and three security officers

Electronics Shop

an elecrtonics shop (first floor: counter with cash and computer, kitchenware and gardening tools, second floor: computers, radios and TVs)

including some TVs, some computers, some radios, some gardening tools and some kitchenware

minifigs: shop owner, saleswoman and a citizen

Do you have some new ideas, too?

The Toy shop should have little boxes of lego (like a 1x2, 1x3 2x3 brick with set picture). A good way to advertise the LEGO logo and could even be used to advertise other sets.

Yep. And one box should sport the image of the toystore itself :D

How about a shoe-shop?

Take a 1x2 plate, put a 1x1 round plate on it and there

Personally, I'd like to see:

1. Bus +/- Bus stop.

2. Cars - a collection of car parts to make 3-4 cars to encourage MOCers and Pimpers!!! The petrol station is the only kit with a modern car that isn't white and covered in 'Fuzz' stickers.

3. Petrol tanker - to complement the petrol station.

4. More Houses and Shops.

finally, and most unlikely to happen....

4. A public toilet with George Michael Minifig!

Cottaging On!
