Zike looks down and shakes his head. "Please don't call me that." He looks up and points to the Maw-Hax house.

Boomingham heads over to the mine. He can hear banging and crushing of rock from inside the tunnel. The tunnel is rarely lit, but he can make it out.

What will Boomingham do?

What will the rest of the party do?

Most of the gambling here is Shots

Shots

In shots, the hero bets money equal to the opponents. The point of the game is to get your opponent drunk before you.

Each round, you either lose, gain, or keep your drunkenness points. You start out with 0 drunkenness points. Your max Drunkenness points is equal to your level rounded down. Each round, the dice is rolled for both contestants.

If you roll a 1,2,or 3 you gain one Drunkenness point.

If you roll a 4,or 5 you keep the number of Drunkenness points.

If you roll a 6 you lose one Drunkenness point.

The first to reach their max Drunkenness points loses and must forfeit their gambled money.

The party looks around and finds some contestants:

Contestant A

Level 7-11

Gambling: Up to 15 gold

Contestant B

Level 6-12

Gambling: Up to 23 gold

Contestant A

Level 5-13

Gambling: Up to 38 gold

"Once more, my crippling lack of funds prevents me from joining in the fun."

Your fellow quest-mates would probably give you some of their money seeing as how you are the most likely to win, but your quest-mates must approve.

"While I'm waiting for my questmates to decide if a loan to me... again... is worth it, I'd like to talk to the villagers. Howdy-ho villagers. Question for you all? Is a growling sound coming from your mines... normal, would you say? Or would you be concerned if hypothetically I told you that I had heard one?"

Is a growling sound coming from your mines... normal, would you say? Or would you be concerned if hypothetically I told you that I had heard one?"

A villager looks over at him.

"Well what do you mean by "A growling sound"? Do you mean like a bunch of noise or a noise from some sort of beast like a dragon or such?"

Another villager at the table joins the discussion.

"There's always lots of noise at the mining area. They're always mining for gems and such."

 "It appears I mistook the sounds to be the sounds of some sort of beast. Perhaps they were just your miners. I apologize. But, while we're on the topic of monsters, have any of you run across any of these 'snowy monsters'?"

Villager B:

"No. Most of did not even see them."

Villager C:

"I've seen them. I go out and collect firewood. they go run around outside. I don't think anyone has seen one in close to close combat though."

"Pah. I'm still doing better than you, though I'm afraid you got a little confused as to the rounds there. If you two want to go exploring to the fields or what have you while I finish off this joker, feel free. Another few rounds, barkeep."

Amorith Marvelo heads to the Fields. There he finds a strange combination of a mushroom and a tree. It seemed to have a soft glow. Amorith sees some villagers working the crops.

I dig under the tree.

As Amorith digs under the tree, some villagers give him a strange look, then go back to their work. Amorith finds the roots of the plant, which are a yellowish brown color. He put some of the root in a vial to make a mead!

I would like to keep the mead but I will defer to the party leaders decision. I also dig up the mushroom.

Note: It's one plant. It is a strange combination between a mushroom and a tree.

Ah, can any more of the sap be obtained from the roots?

You try to contain more sap, but find that you cannot. You try to find other useful thing about the tree-ish plant and find a syrupy goo on parts of the branches. You find you can collect 3 vials of remedy!

Standing back and marvelling at this incredible plant, Amorith has an idea. I uses his dagger to cut into the trunk of the tree to see if anything can be harvested from it.
