Baritones 3: Day One

Recommended Posts

Players only please!

001.jpg

There are only a handful of citizens left in Moonlight. Knowing of Ivan's past as a leader against the brutal mafia killers, they have gathered in front of his deli to find out what they can do to rid the town of it's mafia problem.

002.jpg

"Mine friends," Ivan addresses the crowd, "Today is the day we are taking our town back into hands that are our own!"

"Hooray!" The town cries out.

Ivan continues, "We must taking matters into our own hands. The horrible Mafia peoples are among us and will continue to corrupt our town until there is nothing left. Soon are coming casinos and strip joints..."

"Hooray!" One of the men cries out. Silence follows. "Oh sorry..." he concedes, "That's bad. Very bad."

"We must taking the law in our own hands now!" Ivan cries, "We must find out ourselves who among us is the members of this Russian Mafia."

"Did anyone follow that?" Someone asks, "Are we looking for the mob or are they looking for us? It's hard to tell with his accent."

"The mob knows who they are" Someone else explains, "We're going to weed them out ourselves instead of relying on conventional resources like the FBI."

"OK, thanks." The first person answers.

"Yes, thanking you for clarifying," Ivan continues, "My friends, we must do our own investigatings to find who these Mafia members are. We will decide who is being the most suspicious, by casting a vote and at the end of the day whoever is having the most votes, we kill like a good old fashioned lynch mob!"

"Hooray!" Everyone Cheers.

003.jpg

"Wait a minute, wait a minute." A new voice is heard as a woman pushes her way through the crowd.

004.jpg

"Agent Veronica, FBI," the woman introduces herself, "You can't take the law into your own hands like this! It's illegal. Leave this to the experts!"

"Oh we are not really becoming a mob for lynching," Ivan explains, "We are for a new play rehearsing!"

"Oh," Agent Veronica says, "Carry on then."

005.jpg

After she leaves Ivan laughs, "Ha! I have fooled her. My fingers I was crossing. We are now a lynch mob, hooray for us!

"What if we're wrong?" Someone cries.

"I don't want to die!" Another voice chimes in.

"Won't somebody think of the children?" A hysterical voice sobs.

"Peoples, people" Ivan calms everyone down again, "Take it from me, I have been through this twice. This is the best way to doing this. Trust me. Now a word from my friends, Steve and The Cross-Dressing Construction Man."

006.jpg

"Hi everybody!" The Cross-Dressing Construction Man says.

"Hi Cross-Dressing Construction Man!" Everyone replies.

"Steve and I know how much killing off your friends and neighbors sucks!" The Cross-Dressing Construction Man says, "That's why we're going to make it easier on everyone. Whoever is convicted will get their last meal from us at Fogo de Chao! Just tell us what you want and we'll make it for you. It's the least we can do as you do your part to save our town. Besides, with no customers left, all of our food is going to go bad, so we'll have a free buffet and celebration every night to see off our convicted potential scumbags! We'll make sure this madness is as fun as possible because the next couple of weeks are going to suck!"

007.jpg

"Let us start doing the discussing of who we are convicting today!" Ivan shouts.

With that, the town begins discussing amongst themselves who is the most suspicious person...

Day one has now begun. You may not vote during the first 24 hours.

Well, look at that! With twenty-eight of us to choose from, this will certainly be no easy task. Hopefully with each conviction we will be learning something at least.

So I suppose I'll start a new painting while I wait for everyone to chime in...

Oh my, these are quite difficult circumstances that we find ourselves in! The lynch lunch buffet sounds fun, but it won't be able to wash away the bitter taste that will surely be left in our mouths after killing another person. I have no problem with murdering a mischievous mafia member, but on the first day, it's unlikely we'll be able to sniff one out. I think everyone in this town understands that not voting is a bad thing, so hopefully we'll at least learn something useful from today's vote.

Sorry, there I go babbling again. Being an English teacher really interferes with my private life. *sips vodka* Buch metter.

This is going to suck, indeed. Somehow I don't think a free buffet is going to be any consolation but I think we all appreciate the effort, guys.

There's not much to say at this point. Hopefully the scum will be the first to make a mistake.

Free food is good, though it does nothing to ease having to kill our own to find the scum. Unfortunately, we don't have anything to base such a lynch on at this point, so I, too, will sit back and wait for the rest of the residents to speak up.

Can someone move that mime? He's starting to smell.

Oh ya lynching! This is certainly going to be a tough task, especially on this very first day were we have absolutely no clue what so ever. If any one has any ideas on to what to do today, I'd love to hear from them. To the bar!

I tire of these stereotypes ruining the image of our mother country. The Russian is not just mobster. We are the hard laborer, the proletariat! We shall cut this mafia from our town like the sickle cuts the wheat to make precious vodka!

Please don't touch the mime, we'll hopefully get a coroner in here soon. I agree without any hard facts our first decision will be rough and with the numbers as they are, not good for our side. We must remain vigilent and hope for the best or as best as one can get on a day like this.

We can't let these mafia members walk all over us - we have to fight back! But first, I need a drink.

All I can do is mimic what everyone else has said, so far. We can only hope that one of the scummy mafia members slip up today. :sceptic: Other than that, we have a few, limited options.

- Vote someone off randomly, and hope it leads to answers.

- Or, do nothing, don't vote, and hope for the best.

All I know is that I have by beloved Catya here with me.

There is not much to say. We do not know who mobsters are, we make guess at them at best. I hate choice. We pick someone from no where and there is big chance they are not mobster. Maybe mime was mob. Can we ask him if he can tell us who his friends are.

Have we not been in or heard of enough similar situations to know how that ends? :sceptic:

Yes, leave it be! It can serve as a warning to future mimes. They call that art? Bah...

You're forgetting, "Evaluate the day's conversation and vote for the the one who seems scummiest". Random voting would be drawing a name from a hat, but by the day's end I'm sure people will have reasons behind their votes, instead of the random chance of hat-name-drawing. Besides, you can learn more when people vote from motive than when people vote from random.

I agree. Something minor can be enough reason to vote, and certainly will give us leads for tomorrow. I remember reading an excellent novel where an incredible town voted off the only werewolf on the first day. Given, that was a slip-up on the wolf's part, but still, that was something. Who's to say it can't happen again?

This is an awful situation for us to find ourselves in, but we have to take action to clean up our town. As has been said, all we can do now is wait for everyone to speak and see what each of us has to say, but I fear it's gonna be a real tough choice when it comes down to it.

Lets hope the scum make some stupid mistakes so we can finish this with the minimum loss of innocent lives.

Drunk much? :drunk: Or can you really talk to the dead? Now that could be useful.

Meanwhile, I'll just join the rest of you and wait for the unlikely slip up of a mafia member. The rising vacancy rates will undoubtedly be bad news for housing prices though, so we better get this mess sorted quickly.

Oh dear,

What has my life come to, no girl, an addiction to heroin, gambling and booze. Now you want me to vote off my friends and family. Well, if my father taught me anything, it was to respect the knowledgeable ones, so I will follow Ivan's instructions and cast my vote today. Who for is the question.

I will be doing my duty to you all and listening to what everyone has to say and analyse it to the best of my ability. I hope all my fellow town will also be watching out for any mistakes made.

Yes yes, drinks all around, they make the thinkings clearer. That Ivan fellow, not only is he a dashingly handsome hero who all but singlehandedly destroyed the mob not once, but twice, but he is quite the smart thinker. And modest too, I hear. We shall take his words to their greatest value and watch everything that goes on here until we know the correct place to put our foot. Step to take. Something like that.

That said, I hope to remind all of you that on this day, only the mob knows who is the mob, so one thing to look for is sudden accusations without evidence (what evidences?) and strange alliances without justification of evidence (still no evidences!). Wait, that's two things to look for. Look for them!

More drinks now, as we wait for the evidences to falling from the sky.

This is a grave situation comrades, but Ivan knows what he is talking about. He is clearly an expert in this field; we should follow his advice and drink up. Raya my darling one, I need my special drinking set, it is going to be a long day! We of all people know how crafty the Russian mobsters can be. We moved here to try and escape their regime, but they have still followed us to the shores of the great America. It must stop here. For the sake of our vodka supply. And the children.

Stanislav speaks wisely. While I get some vague feeling that statistically it would help us to vote today, we must not do so randomly. Let's toss backa few glasses, observe our fellows, and see what we can achieve together.

Morning people, this is certainly a dire situation we find ourselves in. And it will definitely get worse before it gets better, we all have to accept that. Now, I've had some experience in dealing with the mob back in Mother Russia, and I'll tell you, you're always in the dark in the beginning, and it's exceptionally rare that evidence comes falling from the sky, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for that either.

And could perhaps someone fetch a drink for me? I seem to have forgotten my vodka in my office at the police station..

Now, this is real total madness with the Russian mafia mob creeping onto us. This is definitely bound to affect our daily lives and also making each other to be wary of one another. I am so worried but I truly believes justice will prevail. We now need to get our act together and sniff out any possible clues, in the hopes of nailing the right one in our first few attempts.

Well I'm drinking and I'm waiting, but nothing is happening. This is bound to be a long day. :sceptic:

Anyway, this reminds me of the old Russian saying: Without torture no science. Which means... well it means that we need to lynch in order to gain evidence. Old Russians were very wise!
